"If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If not now, when?" -Hillel Are you struggling with anxiety or depression related to school, parenting or postpartum, employment, retirement, a relationship, family or a major life transition? Have you had difficulty managing relationships with those around you due to anxiety or depression? Maybe you have struggled with these feelings for a long period of time and you haven't figured out how to address them. Perhaps these unnerving feelings came on suddenly and you are not sure how to cope with the discomfort. I aim to help clients recognize their unhelpful negative thoughts and manage them with in-the-moment techniques. We can work to identify and tackle them together. Practical feedback often helps to normalize behaviors that are long-standing while helping one move away from shame toward acceptance. Having worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years, my expertise lies in confidence, self worth and self esteem skill building, anxiety and stress management and support with life transitions. Treatment may include but is not limited to strengths based therapy, solution focused therapy, executive functioning management, exposure therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I tailor it to what it is that you need throughout our work together. We make things practical. *I offer in person and virtual therapy. When we are facing life stressors, we often focus on addressing the immediate symptoms. This can be very adaptive. However, if we only ever focus on the immediate symptoms of our struggles, then we may never recognize or have the possibility of healing the cause of our pain. I believe that therapy provides a powerful space to explore, understand, and ultimately heal the root causes of our struggles. I approach my work with insight from a variety of therapeutic frameworks, including Narrative Therapy, IFS, Solution Focused Therapy, & Attachment Theory. I am also formally trained in EMDR which I can incorporate into therapy. I approach therapy with an anti-oppressive lens to assist clients dealing with the impacts of homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, and misogyny and am versed in supporting individuals with a wide range of challenges, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Bipolar, and chronic pain. I come to my work not merely as an outsider with expertise, but as a neurodivergent and transgender individual myself who has lived experience navigating many of the issues I work to help others heal from. It has been my privilege to help a wide variety of clients, and I look forward to learning how I can help you too!
Hi, and welcome to my practice. Creating a safe, supportive and comfortable space for every client is at the heart of my work. I believe that therapy is most effective when you feel heard, respected, and accepted for who you are. Together, we will focus on your unique needs, goals, and experiences, working at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is to help you build the tools and insight needed to create a healthier, more fulfilling and meaningful life.
My name is Sarah and I am a therapist, coach and community organizer. I specialize in working with activists, organizers and politically left gen individuals who struggle with burnout, overwhelm and balance. You may be struggling with self-doubt, fear about the future and compassion fatigue. I can help with that. I work with individuals who are navigating trauma associated with living under capitalism. During our first few sessions together, we will begin to bridge the gap between your pain and systematic structures that impact you deeply. You'll begin to experience yourself as part of a whole community, not just an individual. Therapy with me will be political, restorative, healing and empowering.

I spent 24 years studying and working in universities as a student (undergrad and grad), program coordinator (staff), assistant professor (faculty), and state specialist (extension). I worked hard to earn my degrees and make my mark in academia, but I was often looking for guidance and support from my peers about my career. Sometimes finding a listening ear who truly understood me, my strengths, and my goals was challenging. This sparked ideas for a career change, and back to school I went for 5 years part-time while working as a professor, being a spouse, raising two young kids, and still fitting-in some outside pursuits. I became a counselor, and I founded AutumnSpring Counseling, to help students, faculty, staff, and others connected to universities navigate through and cope with the challenges of academic study and work. I am dual certified in mental health (NCC) and career counseling (CCC), and I strive to help clients develop strategies for their present and their future career situations. Through counseling, assessment and evaluation tools, and career strategizing, I help clients process the challenges, decisions, and transitions related to their career and their personal wellness. My website offers a lot of good details about me and the clientele I help the best, so please visit www.autumnspring.co. Once you read there, if I interest you, please email or call me and let's set up a time for a free 25-minute consultation call.

Maybe you’ve hit a turning point—graduating, changing careers, becoming a parent, ending a relationship, or just realizing you don’t feel like you anymore. Maybe your days are full of “shoulds” and not enough space for what you actually want. You’re burnt out from being everything for everyone, stuck in patterns you want to break, or feeling like you're just going through the motions. Whether you're navigating a big life change, trying to cut back or stay steady in recovery, or feeling more like roommates than partners—I’m here to help you sort through the mess and find your way forward. I work with: • Young adults trying to figure out who they are and where they're headed • People wanting to redefine their relationship with substances • Anyone in the thick of a transition, rebuilding, or searching for more • Couples stuck in the same old dynamic, craving connection again • Moms carrying the mental load and losing themselves in the process My style is down-to-earth, honest, and human. I bring years of experience to our work together, but more than anything, I bring a realness that helps you feel safe showing up exactly as you are—no pressure to be perfect, no judgment. Just space to breathe, be curious, and start making changes that actually stick.
My offer to you something is simple and steady: a space where you do not have to perform, impress, or hold it all together. A space where you can exhale. I am especially drawn to working with people in transition especially college students standing on the edge of adulthood and professionalism. Transitions can shake your confidence. They can stir up old shame, old stories, old fears about not being enough. But they are also sacred turning points. They are invitations. Together, we will slow down and tune in. We will examine the narratives you’ve inherited and gently decide which ones no longer serve you. My hope for you is not that you leave therapy “better," but that you leave more fully yourself. I believe healing happens when someone sits with you long enough for you to remember your own strength. I will meet you with depth, honesty, humor and warmth. I will challenge you when needed, celebrate you when earned, and hold the mirror steady when you forget who you are. You do not have to worry alone. Everyone has a story. I look forward to hearing yours.

Whether you want to work towards specific life goals, change, or stressors including complex trauma, cultural issues, anxiety/depression, I strive to guide you through the process. Students who come to work with me often share some things in common: -They're high-achievers. Driven, capable, and holding it together on the outside, but quietly exhausted, burned out, or feeling like something's missing on the inside. -They might be navigating anxiety or OCD, going through a major life transition, or questioning their purpose and what comes next. They may be working through shifts in their relationships, with a partner, with their parents, or with themselves. -Many have never asked for help before. They're used to being the one who has it together, and reaching out takes real courage for them. If any of that sounds familiar, reach out for a free 20-minute consultation and let's get started together :)
