Therapists for college students near University of Pittsburgh
You found me! If you're tired of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, riddled with anxiety or struggling with unwanted feelings and want to make a lifestyle change, then you have already taken the first step. I recognize how difficult it can be to seek out therapy and my passion for helping others has encouraged me to develop a supportive environment for clients to engage in treatment. As a therapist, I will actively listen to your experiences and help you process your emotions. I find it important to create a comfortable, nonjudgmental, and safe space for exploration into deeper meaning and understanding. I have experience with individuals specializing in work with adolescents, young adults, and adults. I am trained in therapeutic methods which include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT, psycho-dynamic, IFS, EMDR, person-centered and solution focused therapy. I tailor the process to the needs, preferences, and strengths of each client. My past experience includes providing school-based services along with substance abuse and mental health counseling within outpatient and intensive outpatient care settings. I have experience working with individuals and families in areas including anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, ADHD, behavioral issues, grief/loss, and adjustment issues.
Starting college, or figuring out what comes after, can feel overwhelming, even when it looks like everyone else has it together. You might be dealing with constant stress, overthinking, low motivation, or feeling stuck and unsure about your next steps. I work with college students and young adults who are navigating big transitions, managing mental health issues such as anxiety or depression, and trying to make sense of who they are and where they’re headed. I offer a supportive, down-to-earth space where you can talk openly, build practical coping skills, and feel more confident handling life’s challenges, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.
I specialize in working with young adults experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, trauma concerns, relationship difficulties, and identity & self-esteem challenges. Many of the individuals I work with have learned to prioritize others' needs, feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Clients come to me seeking deeper self-understanding, more secure relationships, and a stronger sense of safety—both within themselves and in connection to others. You may find that past relationships and life experiences continue to shape how you see yourself, navigate relationships, set boundaries, or respond to stress. I use a person-centered, attachment-focused, and somatic-based approach. Utilizing trauma-informed care, I often incorporate mind-body approaches and focus on nervous system support. Most importantly, I believe in the power of the therapist-client relationship. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself and others—so you can move toward the life you want with clarity and strength.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. I graduated from Widener University where I earned a master’s in Social Work. While at Widener, I completed a certificate in the treatment of trauma. I began my career at Ambrosia Treatment Center, a substance abuse disorder facility. Over the past five years I have worked in all levels of care within the substance use field. I created a program to treat substance use and eating disorders concurrently. After this program I began building a private practice where I work primarily with individuals who have co-occurring eating disorders and substance use. Outside of Guide to Wellness, I help treatment centers across the country implement veterans programs at their facilities. I use a collaborative approach in treatment. I like to meet clients where they are in their lives and work collaboratively with the individual to create an individualized treatment experience. My approach draws heavily from ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CBT and exposure therapy. I work to create a trusting, non-judgmental relationship with the individual. I see myself as someone who presents opportunities to the individual and allow them to be the decision maker. I feel my role is to help the individual see the whole picture in their choices.

I believe that warmth, understanding and compassion are the key to any successful and supportive therapeutic relationship and these qualities are the foundation of my practice. I have been providing counseling services to individuals, couples and families for a number of years in a variety of settings and one thing has always been the same; I learn something new from each and every client and the relationship that is built through the course of treatment is where the healing is created. I tailor my approach based on the needs of my clients and collaborate with them to identify their goals.
