Are you struggling with anxiety or depression? Are you proud of your achievements but still feel there is a disconnect between how you want to live your life and how things are shaping up for you now, almost like you are watching a movie or living someone else’s life? It can be hard to even start a conversation about how to alleviate the way you’re feeling, when you are unsure about how the disconnection occurred and what exactly the disconnect is. I’m here to help you figure that out. I am passionate about empowering clients to figure out their own unique truth, joy, and fulfillment in life. Therapy can be the space for you to do exactly that. Sometimes the anxiety or depression we face is a symptom of a disconnection from our deeper selves, so a large focus of my work with clients is to empower them to find their voice, their truth, and to deepen their sense of congruence. I was drawn to therapy from my prior career having seen firsthand the enormous value therapy can bring us in improving both the quality and enjoyment of our lives. My approach is supportive, curious, and collaborative so that you can explore your experiences in a safe and culturally sensitive environment. Every client’s needs are completely unique, and no one is defined by their symptoms or challenges, so I adapt my approach based on your goals and objectives. I believe that honesty and directness are essential skills for therapists so that our clients can recognize patterns that don’t serve them well. I will share the truth of what I’m seeing with kindness and respect. Sometimes this means exploring uncomfortable experiences or feelings, and I will be your partner as you come to a deeper understanding of these experiences, and free yourself of their hold on you. I invite you to start by imagining what the best outcome could look like for you, and we will go from there.

Therapy can be scary, especially when it's your first time, so I enjoy using humor when appropriate. I will help guide you if you need help with what to talk about in session(s). Through our work together we will find coping strategies and skills to help manage your feelings. We will learn so much about you and come to understand how to best help you. Emotional regulation will feel easier. You will have space to think about more than just what bothers you/what happened this week. It is a space to think deeply.
I’ve always thought that the most beautiful and interesting trees in the forest are the ones that grow into unique forms, shaped by their environment but finding a way to adapt and thrive. Similarly, life’s challenges can shape us in profound ways, but they can also leave us feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck. I’m Rob Gooding, a second-year graduate student at St. Bonaventure University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate these challenges and uncover their inner resilience to live fulfilling and authentic lives. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for growth and healing. To me, it’s a privilege to walk alongside clients as they share their stories and embark on their journey toward self-discovery and empowerment. My approach is grounded in person-centered principles, recognizing that you are the expert in your own life. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and supported. By integrating evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Solution-Focused Therapy, I work with clients to reframe negative thought patterns, develop practical skills, and prioritize their needs. Together, we’ll build tools to navigate challenges with confidence and clarity. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, academic pressures, identity exploration, or life transitions, you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to help you rediscover your strengths, adapt to life’s demands, and create meaningful change. Just like those unique trees in the forest, your story is one of resilience and growth – and it would be an honor to support you on your path. Robert Gooding is a therapist in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists in-training accruing clinical hours

Dr. Marguerat Degaard is a New York State Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Her academic journey started in Switzerland with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Geneva. Wanting to combine her passion for dance and the art of therapy, she came to the US and obtained a Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy in 1986 from Hunter College, NYC. She worked as a Dance Therapist for 14 years, developing, implementing and supervising creative art therapies programs. In 2005 Dr. Marguerat Degaard received her PhD from Adelphi University. Since then she worked in hospital settings adding teaching and training to her work as a clinician. Throughout the years, she continued to receive education and training in different areas of interest. She has been in private practice part time and full time since 2015. Her approach is integrative and flexible greatly influenced and informed by her artistic background. Her many years of work in the mental health field has taught her profound humility in the face of the deepest layers of humanity. She views psychotherapy as an in-depth collaborative and creative process which expands and frees self-expressions allowing untold stories to be told, contradictions to be bridged, and emotions to be touched or re-touched towards richer and healthier self-understanding and life experiences. She offers psychotherapeutic services in English and French. Her method will encourage and mobilize what she calls the 3 Cs in her patients, i.e. courage, curiosity and creativity. She will support the courage it takes to embark on the therapeutic journey, she will foster a deep sense of curiosity in one’s experiences that help shape one’s humanity through self-reflection and self-exploration work, and the use of creativity to allow new spaces to open and be expanded.
I am a compassionate, thoughtful, experienced psychologist, and I am very interested in getting to know you and your struggles. I work with individuals and couples, from late adolescence to older adulthood. My work is collaborative and starts by creating a non-judgmental space in which you can feel comfortable sharing your symptoms and exploring your past, present and future. We will work together to help you understand and negotiate the external and internal obstacles preventing you from achieving greater contentment in your life. I use evidence-based approaches, such as CBT, DBT, and ACT, to help clients reduce anxiety and depression, better cope with stress, and improve their self-esteem and relationships. I also utilize attachment and psychodynamic theories to help clients construct a meaningful narrative of their history, help identify harmful patterns in thinking, behavior and relationships, and help clients liberate from them. I specialize in both short-term and long-term psychotherapy aimed at increasing self-awareness and identifying patterns that contribute to mood symptoms and difficulties at work or in relationships. I look forward to speaking with you about the challenges you are currently facing so that we can establish a plan to help you overcome them and lead a more satisfying and fulfilling life. I look forward to learning about you and partnering with you through psychotherapy to help you reduce stress and find greater satisfaction with your life.
Caryn (she/they) is a queer, nonbinary therapist who specializes in helping clients navigate anxiety, OCD, and sexual trauma (often the intersection of all three). Using approaches that honor the mind-body connection—such as psychosomatic therapy, IFS, and ERP—Caryn gently pushes clients to change unhelpful patterns and heal longstanding wounds. As an individual and couples’ therapist, Caryn creates a space in which clients can safely engage with the scary stuff without letting it overwhelm them. At the core of their practice is the belief that pleasure is a human right, and they are here to guide clients toward the joy that they deserve. I might be the right therapist for you if… You want to work with someone who Gets It: who understands the nuance of gender and sexuality, who understands your cultural references, and who sees the value in humor as a coping mechanism (aka, I’ll laugh at your jokes!) You want to stop intellectualizing your emotions and actually feel them (or, perhaps, feel them a little less intensely all the time) You keep getting caught in cycles of obsession and/or rumination and don’t know how to stop them or what they mean You want a therapist who is knowledgeable about and affirming of sex work, kink, polyamory, queer folks, neurodiversity, and fat liberation, among others
Hi there! Have you ever felt like your thoughts are racing but the words just won't come out? Have you ever felt the anxiety of overthinking and overanalyzing? Or that despite knowing what you “should” do, making changes feels overwhelming? Perhaps you're navigating the complexities of interpersonal relationships, cultural identity, family expectations, or that persistent feeling that no one quite understands your experience. I want you to know that these feelings are deeply valid, and you're not alone in this journey. Taking this first step toward healing shows incredible courage, and thank you for considering sharing your story with me. I'm Toni, a first-year Master's student in Social Work at Columbia University, building upon my foundation in my bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from NYU. I believe in creating a genuine and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself. My approach combines warmth and gentle humor with practical strategies, creating a space where both healing and growth can flourish. While my foundation combines client-centered therapy with CBT and an existential approach, I believe in adapting therapeutic approaches to what works best for you. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I draw from various modalities to create a personalized therapeutic experience that aligns with your needs and goals. Together, we'll work on transforming overwhelming thoughts into manageable steps, building confidence in your decisions, and helping you feel more grounded in who you are. As a 1.5 generation Asian American therapist-in-training, I bring both professional training and personal understanding to our sessions, especially when it comes to navigating cultural expectations, family dynamics, and the unique pressures of straddling multiple identities. I create a trauma-informed, culturally affirming space where you can explore these experiences openly and draw strength from your heritage. Your story matters, and I'm here to listen with empathy, understanding, and zero judgment. Let's collaborate on your journey toward healing and self-discovery, celebrating each step forward while honoring your unique experiences and strengths. Toni Yu is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists-in-training accruing clinical hours.
