Hi, I'm Lisa Grine, MSN, APN, PMHNP-BC Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for College Students What Students Say About Me "Great listener, knowledgeable, and kind-hearted." Years of Experience 10 years+ My Approach I'm both warm and direct—able to match whatever you need in that moment. Sometimes that means sitting with you quietly and listening. Other times it means telling you what I see, even when it's hard to hear. Our sessions are structured conversations, not free-flowing chats. I believe that clarity helps. What I Work With Most • Anxiety, mood concerns,(mental health during prenatal, during pregnancy, and postpartum needs), and depression to name a few • High-achieving students experiencing burnout and life transitions • Young adults-both undergrad and graduate students How I Work Often, college students feel forced to choose between success and wellbeing — but together, we can find a way to balance both! I take a holistic approach to care, which means looking at the whole person, not just symptoms. And let's be honest, it's no surprise that college life can throw our health off track — skipping fresh air, surviving on less-than-ideal food, and running on questionable amounts of sleep are basically a rite of passage. Integrative and Holistic care also means honoring your religious beliefs, ethics, morals, and value systems, because those things genuinely shape who you are. I offer medications when clinically appropriate, but my focus goes far beyond that. Having worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, I understand the intensity of acute care as well as the importance of building sustainable, everyday coping strategies that actually fit your life. Who I'm Best Suited For I tend to connect well with women, men, and provide mental health support for women who are pregnant, peri/postpartum. I am strictly telehealth and so if someone needs a stimulant or controlled substance I can recommend providers who are in person or hybrid to match those needs based on current laws and restrictions. I'm upfront about this because I believe matching matters. If you are in any acute danger please seek emergency care first as this practice is outpatient. If you're looking for a provider who shares certain values or experiences, that can make a difference in how comfortable you feel.

I strive to be a supportive therapeutic partner who provides a safe compassionate environment for students who want to develop a better understanding of themselves. I believe that students are better able to explore aspects of their lives that may be difficult or painful when they feel heard and validated. My approach is based on integrating a collaborative, strengths-based psychodynamic focus with behavioral treatment models and an understanding of where students fit into their family systems. This enables students to gain insights and examine opportunities for self-compassion, understanding, acceptance, growth, and change. I can provide support with anxiety, social anxiety, relationship issues, perfectionism, and a variety of other issues students experience. I have advanced training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Bowen Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Yoga. My style is compassionate and collaborative.

Healing is rarely linear, and finding a provider who truly meets you where you are can make all the difference. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner bringing extensive clinical experience to every session, I specialize in helping people across the lifespan navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and mood disorders. Whether you're facing something you've carried for years or navigating a new and difficult chapter, you deserve a space grounded in trust and open, honest communication. My goal is to be a reliable, collaborative partner in your care, helping you gain clarity, strengthen your coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. Compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care is more than a philosophy; it's how every session is shaped. Helping you better understand your mental health and build a sustainable path toward healing and resilience is what this work is all about. You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where your unique needs and goals guide the direction of care. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and medication management, my focus is on developing practical coping skills and improving your emotional well-being. Every approach is thoughtfully tailored to you, because no two people, and no two journeys, are exactly the same. My path to this work began with early work in psychiatric facilities, where I witnessed firsthand the power of compassionate, consistent mental health care. Experiencing that impact deepened my commitment to trauma-informed, patient-centered practice that continues to guide every aspect of care today. Each session is approached with this same level of empathy, clinical insight, and a collaborative spirit, because the relationship between patient and provider matters just as much as the treatment itself. Outside of the office, staying active, creative, and connected to everyday life keeps things grounded. Whether working out, experimenting in the kitchen, or finding a sense of calm and creativity in pottery class, these pursuits bring the same intentionality and presence that shape the care offered to every patient.

College and early adulthood can be exciting, but they can also feel overwhelming. You may be trying to balance classes, work, relationships, family expectations, and questions about your future, all while wondering if you’re the only one who doesn’t have everything figured out. Maybe you’re feeling anxious, burned out, lonely, stuck, or like you’re constantly overthinking. Many of the students I work with are thoughtful, motivated, and care deeply about doing well. From the outside, they often appear to have it together, but internally they’re struggling with stress, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship challenges, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity. My approach is warm, collaborative, and genuine. I won’t just sit back and nod, I ask thoughtful questions, help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and support you in developing healthier ways of coping, communicating, and relating to yourself and others. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and challenged in ways that promote meaningful growth. I provide virtual therapy for college students and young adults throughout Florida, New Mexico, New York, and Texas, making it easier to fit therapy into your busy schedule. If you’re looking for a therapist who is compassionate, engaged, and committed to helping you navigate this stage of life, I’d be honored to work with you.

It is both normal for us humans to get stuck, scared, or in our own way and also to need space and support to understand the cause of our struggles, face our fears, make changes, and grow. My goal as a therapist is to use our combined wisdom (your knowledge of yourself and your life, my experience and expertise), and sometimes that of my therapy dog Bella, to explore your concerns, increase awareness, insight, and self-compassion, identify options for change, and understand and respect what you choose to do as a result of this process. I have over 20 years experience as a psychotherapist and specifically working with university students (and staff), international persons, and musicians/performers.

I’m a licensed psychologist and have worked with college-age young adults for many years. I have a youthful energy and I believe in being a good and supportive listener. I utilize evidence-based cognitive-behavioral and acceptance and commitment therapy interventions to help young adults create and apply effective action plans in their life. I’m not interested in helping young adults merely admire their problems, is this usually results in remaining stuck. Instead, I work collaboratively to identify promising interventions to move our life forward towards desired goals. This, I find, is the only way for a person to build genuine confidence.
