About Me I believe that the changes that we want to make in our lives start by finding meaning in our experiences and connection with others. My time working in schools, outpatient, and acute settings provided me with the tools to support you or your loved one through a collaborative relationship. My Approach Whether it is your first time looking for support or if this is a part of a longer process, I would like to meet you where that is. I work with individuals from childhood through adulthood who are seeking support for various reasons such as life transitions, anxiety, depression, personal identity, stress, and relationships. With your goals in mind, I draw from a variety of evidence based therapies such as psychodynamic and play, as well as cognitive and dialectical behavioral. I have expertise in grief and loss, caregiving, physical health related problems, and cultural identity. In addition to psychotherapy, I also provide child, adolescent, and adult educational and psychological assessment for various referral questions to address academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges.

You may be feeling stuck—restless, lost, or weighed down by things you don’t fully understand. Maybe it’s unfinished business from childhood, the pressure to always have it together, or just a nagging sense that something is missing. I get it. Life can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to feel lost in the noise. During my time in the military, I saw how deeply these struggles run, and I’ve spent my career helping people work through them. I will offer you non-judgmental space where you can sort through it all. Therapy isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about real conversations, self-discovery, and building the life you actually want. My mission as your therapist is to collaborate with you in discovering your higher self. I practice from a Person-Centered lens that blends aspects of Gestalt Therapy, CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also trained in Natural Flow EMDR & Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. I will treat you like a human, not a science project. I pride myself on my laidback, casual style and in this approach I hope to show you that therapy is not as intimidating or mysterious as it may seem. I urge you to come exactly as you are, bringing your whole self. I appreciate you and I look forward to meeting you very soon.

You may feel stuck and having a hard time moving forward. It can be exhausting trying to muster up the energy to get out of bed and take care of your responsibilities and yourself. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and have worked in counseling focusing on grief for 14 years. In working with grief and loss I have found that this opening provides opportunities to recreate yourself because parts of your world have changed. This experience has helped me grow as a counselor over these years and to understand that we are all here to learn more about ourselves as challenges come into our lives. I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, physical and sexual trauma, job changes, and relationship issues. I have also worked with those who have other challenges such as High Functioning Autism and issues concerning the LGBTQIA community. My approach to counseling comes from Person Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness techniques. I also have experience Heart Math for Stress and Anxiety where we use tools to regulate breath and heart rate. This skill can help one to be centered in the chaos and help to focus on your healing process. I also used techniques found in Mindfulness that helps to focus on the present moments versus worries about past or future. I believe in the ability within each individual to overcome the challenges that they face during the course of their lives. There should be a genuine relationship between the therapist and the client. This purpose is the creation of a safe place for the client to grow in their awareness of themselves and their environment. I believe in these theories because they center on the individual and their innate power to overcome their personal challenges. All of these theories and techniques give the client the confidence to realize that they do have the power to create their own reality and make positive choices. It is vital that the client feels a connection with their therapist to provide the trust involved in making the necessary changes in themselves.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Asheville, NC

Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals improve their mental health and gain a sense of well-being . Often times, we aren't living in the present. We're either stressed, depressed, anxious, too busy looking back on the past, or lost in thought with hopes for the future. This leaves us losing the ability to enjoy the present, and the present is what ends up creating our future, as well as creating the moments we will one day look back on. Many of us could benefit from gaining the ability to be present, as well as gaining the ability to see other perspectives and regulate emotions and thoughts. Together we will address the challenges you face, uncover your strengths, and cultivate new coping skills to help you navigate life's difficulties while gaining a greater ability to celebrate and appreciate life's successes. Through therapy, I aim to equip my clients with the tools to regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, be more mindful, and effectively cope. It is truly an honor to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where individuals can openly express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I’m excited you’ve decided to start this journey and I look forward to providing the guidance and help you deserve.

I am a cancer survivor, an active duty military spouse, and a child of grief after losing my father at a young age to addiction. Building resilience and fostering hope is not just something that I practice professionally, I have lived it. These experiences combined with my clinical background have given me a unique perspective on healing. I value the realness of showing up as yourself in and out of the therapy room. When I am not wearing my therapist “hat” you can find me at the movies, cuddled up on the couch with my two fur babies, or in the kitchen. I am a serious foodie, dog mama, bookworm, Bravo-binge-watcher, coffee fiend, and yes….I am a millennial. I love to paint, listen to 90s country, decorate for the holidays, and travel (when I can!).
