Therapists for college students near 53715
Hi, great to meet you! I tend to work best with students who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of themselves. You might be juggling school, relationships, family expectations, or just trying to figure out who you are and where you’re headed. Maybe you’ve been dealing with stress, anxiety, low mood, or feeling like you’re “not enough,” even if things look fine on the outside. A lot of the students I work with are thoughtful, caring people who put pressure on themselves and don’t always give themselves the same understanding they give others. Some are going through big transitions, breakups, or identity questions. Others just feel off and aren’t sure why. If you’re looking for a space where you can be real, feel heard, and sort things out at your own pace, we’d likely be a good fit. Let's connect.
At Collective Counseling & Consultation, we recognize the richness of human diversity and the tapestry of cultural experiences. We celebrate our shared humanity while understanding the unique challenges faced by individuals across different cultural backgrounds. Our counseling services are tailored to bridge cultural gaps, fostering understanding and growth. In a world teeming with diverse experiences and perspectives, we offer a haven where cultural nuances are not just understood, but deeply valued. We believe in the strength and beauty of diversity and the transformative power it holds in the therapeutic space. Our therapists are trained to approach every individual with deep cultural sensitivity, recognizing & respecting their unique journey. No two individuals are the same. Our counseling strategies are customized to fit the needs and backgrounds of our clients. We aim to empower our clients, helping them harness their strengths as tools for growth & healing. Together, let's weave a tapestry of understanding, growth, and connection. Your path to understanding, acceptance, and healing starts here.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that creativity is a powerful tool for self-expression and healing. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their emotions, break through barriers, and tap into their inner strength. Every person is unique, and my goal is to tailor my therapeutic techniques to meet the specific needs and preferences of each client. Expressive art therapy provides an alternative form of communication, particularly beneficial when traditional verbal expression may feel limiting. Artistic expression allows for the articulation of emotions, experiences, and narratives that may be challenging to express through words alone. The focus is on the process of creation rather than the end result, allowing for a more profound and authentic exploration of emotions.

My name is Carissa Weber. I am an outdoor enthusiast dedicated to helping others return to enjoying their own lives. As a therapist, I use a blend of treatment modalities, neuroscience, and sarcasm to help clients build on their strengths to rediscover who they are. When we work together, you will have a safe place to share your experience in a judgment-free zone. Rather than "jump to conclusions'' and make uncomfortable treatment recommendations to you after the first session, I will take time to get to know who you are, understand what you are facing, and help you explore ways to relieve your anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. I’ve worked to create the kind of non-judgmental therapy space where I’d want to find myself as a client—where one can ugly cry & make dark-humored jokes within the same session.

I appreciate the time you are taking to choose the best person and process for your specific needs. Being a college student requires a lot of difficult choices, and I know finding a counselor can be hard as well. Here are some thoughts about how I work, but please contact me if you have other questions. My goal as a counselor is to shape our work around the needs, goals, and overall direction you want to take in your life. If you have very focused, concrete issues you want to address, we’ll use a solution-focused approach to create plans and strategies for focused change and growth. If you have more broad, complicated things to address, we talk about a deeper purpose and meaning for your life that can serve as a foundation for more significant changes. No matter what you would like to talk about in counseling, we will capitalize on your strengths as a whole person to create the change you seek.
We are an online counseling group therapy practice where you can receive the mental health treatment you deserve from your comfy surroundings! We offer phone and video counseling, on your time.

I provide services to adolescents and adults in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, anger management, and grief and loss.
Over the past eight years I have worked in the mental health field in a variety of capacities, including inpatient units, residential facilities, and day treatment settings. My experience and training with children, adults, and families in these settings has given me a practical knowledge and understanding when working alongside my clients to facilitate change. A significant part of my experience has been working with adults and children coping with past trauma to safely express their anger, manage their depression, and navigate difficult life events. I strive to meet my clients and their families in the circumstances that they are in and make a collaborative effort to overcome the challenges they face. Each client's history, perspective, and relationships are different which is why I believe each therapeutic approach should be unique to the client. In addition to outpatient therapy, I work part time with the social services department at Rogers Behavioral Health. Forming relationships with clients and being witness to their progress and resiliency is something that has been rewarding. Outside of work I enjoy playing ultimate Frisbee, hiking, reading, and swimming.
