Therapists for college students near University of Pittsburgh
Hi! I’m Kimberly Carlin, LPC, and I work with women over 18 who want support navigating the ups and downs of life. Between work, relationships, family responsibilities, and personal growth, it’s normal to feel stressed, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to cope. I help women work through: * Anxiety, stress, and burnout * Relationship challenges and setting boundaries * Trauma or emotional abuse * Grief or major life transitions * Body image and disordered eating * Pressure to be “perfect” or meet high expectations * Life transitions such as parenting, career changes, or caregiving responsibilities Here’s what therapy with me looks like: CBT: Helps you spot unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier ones. ACT: Teaches you to accept feelings and focus on what matters most. Somatic Therapy: Uses your body to release stored stress, tension, and anxiety. IFS (Internal Family Systems): Helps you explore different parts of yourself and understand conflicting thoughts, emotions, or behaviors. Inner Child Work: Helps you understand how past experiences shape your feelings today. EMDR: A specialized approach that helps painful memories feel less overwhelming. Christian Counseling and Prayer (optional): For women who desire, therapy can integrate Biblical principles, prayer, and exploring God’s perspective of who you are to guide healing, self-worth, and decision-making. I provide online therapy and am licensed in multiple states, so you can continue care even if you travel, work remotely or move. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel understood, gain clarity, and build tools to navigate life with more confidence, self-compassion, and faith-based guidance if desired. Whether you’re feeling stressed, struggling with relationships, wanting to process trauma, or navigating major life transitions, I’m here to support you. My work with people focuses on meeting you where you are. First time in therapy? No problem, let's take it slow and figure out what you want to get out of this experience. A seasoned therapy pro? Let's talk about your past therapy experiences and go from there. Where ever you land on the therapy experience spectrum, you are welcome here and I look forward to working with you! The over arching goal of my work with clients is for you to align and connect with who you are and how you want to live. Sometimes that is really easy to identify, but it can also be tremendously overwhelming. Come as you are and leave who you want to be!
Asension Point Behavioral Health is designed for any person struggling to build a home within themselves or connect with the world around them.
If you struggle with self-esteem, managing emotions, boundaries in relationships, or you've survived a traumatic childhood or young adulthood, I may be a good fit for you. Abusive or neglectful experiences from our past can impact our self-worth, our capacity to cope with stress, and our ability to feel safe connecting with others. I specialize in working with people who have had trauma in their lives or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, whether in your childhood, in a relationship, or due to COVID or another recent isolated experience. I offer weekly therapy as well as skills training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. I see therapy as a resource for you, a way to find coping skills that actually work for you. You can learn to shift the way you respond to stress & let go of unhelpful patterns. My other areas of expertise: working with young adults facing anxiety, depression, or difficult life transitions, & people facing the challenges of pregnancy and/or new parenthood. I'm committed to helping you heal. Through our work together, I will help you find compassion, respect and forgiveness for yourself. By starting with a safe and supportive relationship in therapy, you can become grounded, confident, and able to feel more connected to others. Please feel free to reach out to discuss options and make a plan. You are worth it.
At Cognitive Pursuits, I provide therapy for athletes and high-achieving professionals and academics who want to strengthen their mental health and enhance performance. With over a decade of clinical experience, including leadership roles at Thomas Jefferson University, I specialize in helping clients manage anxiety, depression, substance use, self-doubt, and burnout. I integrate cognitive-behavioral therapy, positive psychotherapy, and existential psychotherapy—among other evidence-based techniques—to create a supportive, practical, and collaborative space where clients can make meaningful progress toward their goals. I offer both traditional therapy and Performance Anxiety Therapy Intensives — focused, short-term programs designed to help clients gain clarity, build confidence, and develop effective strategies to perform at their best while maintaining balance and wellbeing. Services are available virtually to residents of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. My name is Meghan Morley - I’m a licensed therapist, former NCAA athlete, and personal trainer. My background in both mental health and performance psychology allows me to understand the unique pressures faced by driven individuals—whether in competition, academics, or demanding careers. Before founding Cognitive Pursuits, I served as Clinical Operations Manager at Thomas Jefferson University’s Center on Community Substance Abuse Programs and currently am an adjunct professor at St. Joseph's University counseling graduate program. My work is grounded in the belief that high performance and wellbeing don’t have to compete. I help clients quiet mental noise, build resilience, and reconnect with a sense of confidence and purpose that extends far beyond achievement alone.

I have over 20 years of experience in mental health and has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, school based therapy, higher education and independent practice. I began my career working with children and families who experienced abuse, neglect and other traumas. Through this challenging work, I was extensively trained in the treatment of trauma and developed a philosophy of therapy that supports each individual where they are and focuses on their resilience and capacity to heal. In addition to trauma informed practices, I have training in the following areas: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Art and Play Therapy techniques, Mindfulness, Tele-Health Practices, Family Systems and Attachment Theory. I have experience with the following clinical concerns: stress management, depression, anxiety, mood regulation, social anxiety, relationship and family distress, attention and motivation challenges, self-esteem, perfectionism, and grief. I have a particular passion for helping individuals develop healthy boundaries and heal from toxic relationships.
Anxiety is our least-welcome companion. It holds us back when we try to take a step forward. It stands in the way when we try to connect with others. It convinces us that the world is scary and the safest place is our home. Anxiety wears many masks, but the best defense is learning how to identify it when it pops into our lives and combat it with a variety of techniques you will learn in therapy. Together we can chip away at what holds you back in your life and build strong coping skills that will prepare you for a successful life ahead. Right now I'm offering both in-person and Tele-therapy appointments. Check out my website SeanDCleary.com for more information or if you'd like to get in touch. I look forward to meeting you.
At Restore relationships we strive to teach the inner connections of life. Much like fungi, humans root themselves through branching off and building new, thriving, fulfilling relationships and connections. How we manage and love in these relationships has a lot to do with how we grew up. Our childhood experiences, traumatic events, and connections with others influence more of our independent being than understood. That’s where our job comes in, helping our clients understand the connections that made a footprint on their beings. By redefining, uncovering, and learning about the relationships in our lives, we begin to shift focus on the most important relationship, the one with ourselves. Restore offers multiple forms of relationship therapy with a depth focus on the family. Therapy is offered by a trained professional specifically educated in marriage and family therapy. Understanding relationships are our most precious gift, it is imperative proper navigation in these relationships is taught. About the owner: Hannah graduated in May of 2019 from Thomas Jefferson University with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) after completing 500 clinical hours. Hannah then served in community mental health as a mobile crisis stabilization therapist providing home/school-based sessions for families in the Northeast. Hannah transitioned into a private group practice in 2021 focusing on couples, individuals, and families. Hannah completed her licensure requirements and received her license in November 2021. Recently Hannah has opened her own practice and is extending hours to accept new clients! A message from Hannah: "Hello, my fellow warriors! I am not your average therapist, I am an unfiltered therapist discussing, supporting, and rallying for all challenges, transitions, and celebrations we undergo in this life! Please join me as we experience the power of the therapeutic relationship while discovering hidden generational patterns, identities, and a whole list of potential possibilities! I look forward to witnessing this journey with you!"
Do you feel like your emotions are controlling you? Are you struggling in school or in your social life? Do you feel stuck, and you have no idea how to overcome what you are feeling? I have more than 12 years of experience in the field of counseling. I have had the privilege of working with people from many backgrounds and life experiences, including those with a history of mental health illnesses or conditions and co-occurring disorders. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I desire to work with people to help them find their own potential, and to pursue their goals in life. By nature, I use a holistic approach to therapy for the clients I work with which allows me to learn who my clients are as people before working with them to develop a personalized health plan based on their values, needs, and goals. This has been a valuable approach for me as a therapist over the years.
