Therapists for college students near University of Pennsylvania
Hello there, Feeling stuck? Feeling stressed out about all the things that are competing for your attention? Wanting to change your relationship with yourself, so you can spread your wings and soar? I'm Stefan (he/him) and I want to be there on your journey. Starting therapy can feel scary, even if you've been in therapy before! To lower that intensity a bit, I want you to give you an idea of how I show up to sessions: - I get to know you - your family, friends, hobbies, shows, loves, fears, passions. - I celebrate and hype you up when you do the hard thing. - I ask questions to get you curious about patterns in your life, and point out when you might not be aware of them. - I offer compassion when your mind creates judgments about yourself. - I welcome and ask for feedback, knowing some things will land and others will not. - I laugh with you and value humor. - I tear up when you feel hurt or uncover a tender spot (while also holding space for you to feel). - I'll tell you I'm proud of you. - I nerd out about mental health, skills, approaches, and explain concepts in a way you'll understand. - I slow down and speed up based on your cues, and I give you choice in how we go about sessions. - I'm always working on our relationship, so there's trust and security when we get to difficult things. - I acknowledge the bigger systems of oppression that affect your life and lives of your loved ones. - I'm active and dynamic in sessions - sometimes asking questions, leading an activity, listening and reflecting, interrupting to highlight something you said, and synthesizing information and summarizing it back to you. All of this "I" is the effort I put into helping you get to "you": what you want, what you care about, your goals, dreams, your emotions, stressors, internal talk, and who you want to become and how you want to show up in life. Specialties: queer and trans identities and lived experiences, anxiety and depression, perfectionism, substance use, navigating family dynamics, healing trauma, couples and relationship work, career discernment Approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; trauma approach), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method (for relationship work), mindfulness and somatic interventions I'm an associate counselor, seeing clients through telehealth in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and California. Same or next week availability! Welcome, I'm Dr Amy O'Donnell. I'm not here to fix you. Because you aren't broken. I believe everyone naturally has the capacity for healing. Together we learn how that looks for you. I help you incorporate natural approaches into your mental health care to create lasting change in mood, stress and sense of purpose. I’m an integrative psychiatrist. I think of my practice as like a one-stop-shop as services that are normally diluted among different providers get streamlined into one place - psychodynamic psychotherapy, medication management, and holistic approaches like nutrition, supplements and botanicals. While I can help with many concerns, my main areas of focus include new and expectant moms, medication de-prescribing and navigating high stress or low mood. We dig deeper to build insight into your whole person, address root causes and establish a resilient foundation so you face life’s challenges with increasing confidence and balance. I’ll be honest; creating lasting change will be challenging and uncomfortable at times. It will require commitment. My promise to you is that you won’t be alone on this journey. If you think we might be a good fit, please check out my website www.naturesflowpsych.com and schedule a free 15-minutes introductory call. I look forward to connecting with you.

Therapy should be a safe place where you feel heard and your feelings are validated. It can be struggling to find that person you feel comfortable with opening up about your feelings. You deserve to have a therapist to help guide and support you through your difficult times in your life. Specializing in Women's Issues as well as Child & Adult Trauma Therapy, Everlasting Wellness’s clinicians have the personal and clinical experience and the expertise to work with women and children through their difficult times in their life. You deserve a safe space to be able to express all your feelings and thoughts and not worry about being judged.
I worked in university counseling centers for over 10 years before transitioning to full-time private practice, and really enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate students. College and graduate school is often a time to better understand and define who you are and what does and does not work for you and for promoting your wellbeing. As a psychologist, I work to help clients understand themselves better in the unique context and experiences of their own lives so as to figure out what each individual needs to be well, which may be very different than what you think you should need to be well. I also work to help clients not only manage their symptoms and distress, but also understand the root causes of their symptoms and distress. I believe that this deeper understanding can often lead to transformative healing.
My name is Katie, and I have experience working with young adults, adults, and couples. I enjoy supporting clients navigating anxiety, anger management, and impulse control, as well as life transitions, relationship stressors, and LGBTQ+ related challenges. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and shaped by a relational lens- meaning I prioritize genuine connection, collaboration, and an understanding of how relationships impact mental health. In our work together, therapy will be a space to feel heard and understood, explore patterns, and build insight while also learning practical tools that support meaningful change. No matter where you are right now, you deserve support that feels affirming and tailored to you. I know taking this step can feel intimidating, but there is relief, growth, and a stronger sense of self on the other side. If you feel I could be a good fit for your goals, please reach out! I’m so exited to connect :)

Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, particularly experiences related to family of origin and attachment. While I work with adults of all ages, I have a special interest in supporting emerging adults - including college, graduate, and medical students - as they manage the emotional and relational challenges that can arise during these stages of life. I support clients in addressing current life challenges while also seeking to answer questions about why these challenges exist in the first place. I do this through a collaborative, relational, and trauma-informed approach that blends deeper insight with practical support. Drawing from psychodynamic and attachment-based work, along with CBT, DBT, and mindfulness, I help clients understand patterns, regulate emotions, and build skills that support meaningful, lasting change. Starting therapy can feel uncertain, and it’s completely normal to have questions or mixed emotions. Please know you don’t have to figure it out on your own. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood. If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to reach out to see if we would be a good fit.

Welcome to Encourage-ment Counseling for Connection, Healing, and Change At Encourage-ment, we help individuals and couples find hope, strength, and clarity through compassionate, expert care. Our practice specializes in three key areas: couples counseling, gambling addiction recovery, and trauma-informed therapy. Life can present challenges that feel isolating and overwhelming. Whether you're struggling in your relationship, battling the cycle of gambling, or working through the impact of trauma, we’re here to walk with you—at your pace, with respect and empathy. **Our Areas of Focus:** * **Couples Counseling** We support couples facing conflict, communication challenges, trust issues, or emotional disconnection. Our work centers on helping partners rebuild connection, improve understanding, and create stronger, healthier relationships. In addition to resolving immediate relational concerns, we help couples navigate the natural seasons of life—including marriage, career changes, aging, and loss. We also provide support for parenting challenges, helping couples stay united as they raise children, balance responsibilities, and manage stress. Whether you're new in your relationship or decades in, our goal is to help you grow together with resilience and compassion. * **Gambling Addiction Recovery** Gambling struggles can feel hidden and difficult to talk about. We provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore the emotional roots of gambling, develop healthier coping strategies, and rebuild your sense of control. In our work together, we focus on practical tools such as budgeting, financial planning, and managing urges to gamble. Just as important, we support clients in rebuilding trust with loved ones, repairing the emotional and relational damage often caused by gambling behavior. Healing includes both personal accountability and restoring connection—and we’re here to guide you through every step of that process. **Trauma-Informed Therapy** Trauma affects how we feel, think, and relate to others. We offer gentle, focused support using evidence-based approaches—including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)—to help clients process distressing memories and sensations in a way that promotes rapid, lasting relief. ART uses guided imagery and eye movements to shift how trauma is stored in the brain, helping clients feel calmer, more in control, and better able to move forward. At Encourage-ment, we believe real healing begins when you feel seen, heard, and encouraged. Whether you're navigating relationship difficulties, addiction recovery, or the effects of trauma, we’re here to help you move forward—one step at a time.
College is a time of frequent change, new experiences, identity-exploration, and uncertainty; juggling academic demands with everything else can prove daunting. If you're feeling that something needs a change, therapy can be the missing ingredient in psychological wellness. Hi! I'm Em! I previously worked in Seton Hill University's Counseling Center, providing individual therapy to college students for a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, LGBTQIA+ issues, relationship and interpersonal problems, grief, trauma, academic stress, adjustment to college, and identity exploration. My approach is relaxed, conversational, and at times fun! I am non-judgmental, welcoming, and I collaborate with you to create a personalized treatment plan. I blend traditional talk therapy (where we explore your thoughts and feelings to increase insight) and skill building (where we practice techniques to soothe and minimize distress.) You'll find me at Elements Counseling & Wellness Spa in the east end of Pittsburgh. We're a 15-20 minute drive from most of Pittsburgh's universities, but I also offer telehealth sessions. I have weekend and evening availability. Let's connect!

College is an exciting time though it can be an overwhelming one as well. College comes with its own unique set of challenges - increased workload, the need for greater time management, increased independence, and trying to find a good work-life balance, to name a few. College life can bring on new anxiety or exacerbate pre-existing anxiety, and managing this and coping in healthy and effective ways can prove difficult at times. Anxiety and stress can also trigger new or worsen pre-existing Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), like excoriation disorder (skin picking) and trichotillomania (hair pulling). If you are a female student struggling with anxiety and need help managing it, and/or are having a difficult time with BFRBs, I would love to work with you. Together we will work on identifying stressors/triggers as well as strategies and skills you can use to better manage your anxiety and/or your BFRB. I look forward to meeting you!
I am a board-certified psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. For me, being a physician is more than a profession—it is a vocation to help indviduals flourish. My practice is devoted to students and young adults seeking thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care that extends beyond symptom relief. I provide comprehensive evaluations that consider medical, nutritional, lifestyle, and psychological factors—including laboratory testing when clinically appropriate—to identify the contributors to emotional and cognitive health. I also specialize in evidence-based de-prescribing for patients who wish to reduce or discontinue psychiatric medications for anxiety, attention difficulties, or substance use disorders. My approach is guided by precision, humility, and restraint: using the least intensive intervention necessary while drawing upon the full breadth of evidence-based medicine. Depending on each patient's needs and goals, I integrate psychotherapy, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, exercise, targeted supplementation, and, when appropriate, carefully selected medications into a personalized treatment plan. In addition to my clinical work, I have presented internationally on psychiatric deprescribing and medical ethics. My work has been recognized with awards from the American Psychiatric Association, the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and other leading professional organizations. I am the Founder & Medical Director of Verigrate Health. I am licensed to serve patients in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Lousiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin.
