Life can be overwhelming and bring challenges that seem bigger than ourselves. This can lead us down rocky terrain. If you find yourself exhausted, unmotivated, anxious, depressed, feeling helpless or hopeless, know that it is okay to seek help. You can change your path. As a therapist it is my goal to meet my clients where they are on their path, to assist them in learning how to access their inner strengths, to practice self-compassion, and learn to overcome harmful narratives developed from past traumas. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them achieve their goals and live a more fulfilled life. Change can be uncomfortable but with a strong therapeutic relationship and support it can feel more manageable, empowering, and exciting. The core of my practice is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, self compassion work, and mindfulness. I am also a registered art therapist allowing for therapeutic exploration through art for clients who are interested.

Humor is something I like to incorporate into therapy; however, we can be serious about your concerns too. People of all ages struggle with human suffering and sometimes you need someone to walk with you through that, whether it be something you wish to change or something that you cannot. I aim to help my clients make meaning in life while also identifying the connections between our individual concerns and larger systems in life. I provide individual therapy for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and trauma, with specialized experience supporting people through grief, traumatic loss, and substance use concerns. My clients have expressed appreciation for my ability to sit with them in their suffering, when they have felt most alone. I have multiple years of experience previously working in college counseling centers. During these experiences, I supported students from a variety of backgrounds and found a lot of joy in helping students at a unique intersection in their lives. I have been lucky to work with a diverse student population and have supported many queer and trans students in exploring their gender and sexual identities while also addressing other mental health concerns. In addition, I was able to support BIPOC students as they addressed systemic issues within the university, while also exploring their individual racial identities. I further co-facilitated a family-trauma group during my time at a university counseling center. Thus, I find that I greatly appreciate being able to sit with students who are addressing these concerns. I am a Psychologist Resident in OR. I have my doctorate and five years of experience providing therapy, however, to become licensed in OR I must complete a supervised residency. I am supervised by Dr. Carrie McMullin (OR 2963). You don’t have to wait for your grief to be over to start living your life again. Whether it be the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, estrangement from a family member or a major life transition; loss changes us. We all navigate grief and loss in our own unique ways. Grief doesn’t end, it evolves. And it can teach us about ourselves, our courage and what matters most in our life. The good news is that it’s possible to find joy and live a meaningful life with grief. You don’t have to navigate your grief and loss alone. We live in a death and pain avoidant society and frequently our friends and family don’t know how to support someone who has experienced a loss. Having a skilled, compassionate and trusted grief and loss counselor can help you integrate your grief and move towards reinvesting in your life.

Therapy is a journey of healing, growth, self discovery and so much more. Each person brings with them a different story and unique perspective, which gives us the opportunity to meet you where you are in that moment, with empathy and support. At Steps to Change, LLC we frequently work with people around life transitions, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, gender and sexuality, acute and chronic trauma issues, self empowerment, parenting, chronic illness (invisible and visible) as well as grief and loss. We enjoy working with individuals in a welcoming space that is created together through the therapeutic relationship. We believe the role of the therapist is to be there as a guide in the process of helping you trust your inner self more and assist in learning new coping strategies to better manage the adversities in life. All services are via Tele-Health, which gives the Client the comfort of their items and space during the sessions, often helping to feel more secure. Please email to schedule an appointment as written communication works best. Hours of availability are Monday-Wednesday with no evening availability. Our hope is that we are able to work together towards reaching your goals and creating change through interpersonal growth.

Good mental health is key to thriving in school, maintaining strong relationships, and enjoying life. While medication can be a helpful tool, you may have heard mixed stories and are wondering if it's the right choice for you. Perhaps you were diagnosed with ADHD as a child and managed fine through high school, but now you're struggling to keep up. Or maybe you're already on medication for depression or anxiety, but it no longer seems as effective. You might even be seeking a second opinion on a past diagnosis or looking for a more holistic approach with a provider who truly listens. Whatever you're facing, I’m here to help. Why choose a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)? As board-certified and licensed professionals, PMHNPs are trained to diagnose mental health conditions, provide therapy, and prescribe medication. Nursing has been the most trusted profession for 22 years running, and we are dedicated to putting our patients at the heart of everything we do. That’s why I named my clinic Centered Psychiatry—because your well-being is always our focus. You deserve personalized care from someone who takes the time to understand your story and collaborate with you on a plan that works for you. If you're ready to explore a fresh approach to mental health, let’s connect.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, so take a moment to acknowledge that you have come this far in recognizing therapy may be a helpful approach for you. Therapy requires self-reflection, an open heart, and a curious mind into learning about ourselves and the way in which we interact with the world and those around us. Although it may be daunting, it is incredibly rewarding to unpack and understand what is getting in the way of happiness, growth, intimacy, and self-compassion. My purpose as a therapist is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore the deep rooted issues and patterns that make them feel "stuck". I support clients with strategies pulled from EMDR, mindfulness, yoga, and other person-centered approaches.
