Therapists for college students near 97201
Hi! My name is Raveena. I particularly enjoy working with young adults navigating self-esteem and self-confidence issues, major life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. I specialize in supporting individuals impacted by racism, bigotry, intergenerational trauma, acculturation challenges, disordered eating/ED's and body image. I also work with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and everyday stressors. I strive to create a space that affirms all identities and lived experiences. As a South Asian therapist of Punjabi descent, I bring a deep sense of empathy and cultural awareness to my work with BIPOC and other marginalized clients. A key part of my approach is recognizing and challenging the systemic forces that impact people of color, queer and trans individuals, and those at the intersections of multiple identities. Sometimes it can be difficult to reach out, which is understandable. If it feels right, please reach out to schedule a consultation, and if you have any questions or thoughts I'd be happy to help.

Nutrition counseling for adults 18+ struggling with a history of dieting/eating disorders looking to improve their relationship with food, movement, and body image. We practice within the Health at Every Size (HAES) paradigm and use a values-based approach to help our clients ditch dieting for good so that they can find freedom with food and body. We also specialize in sports nutrition and see current and retired athletes at the collegiate level and beyond.
I work with individuals, couples and adult families who experience trauma, anxiety, depression, identity or life transitions, and relationship struggle. Many of the people I work with are queer, neurodivergent, non-monogamous, disabled or chronically ill. I take a liberatory, community oriented approach to therapy and will work with you to co-create a container that supports your innate capacity for healing, growth and connection. I draw from narrative therapy and humanism in my therapeutic approach. This means that I'll invite you to expand, deconstruct and reimagine the stories that you hold about yourself and the world around you while offering empathy, reflection and guidance that that celebrates your humanity and your innate capacity for growth, healing and connection. I’m genderqueer, non-monogamous, live with chronic illness, and love being outdoors and growing food. I’m sex positive, disability affirming, neurodiversity affirming, and my approach to therapy is informed by lineages of abolitionism, disability justice and queer feminism. If you think we could be a good fit, I'd love to hear from you!
I’m passionate about spirituality, self love, self forgiveness and radical acceptance. I’ve witnessed clients heal and cure many emotional and physical health challenges through the power of self forgiveness. I love working with anxiety, career transitions, family conflict, relationship challenges, codependency, non-traditional relationships such as poly and kink, positive sexuality, life transitions, queer folks, spiritual or religious trauma, exploration and growth, neurodivergence, sensitivities, health challenges and trauma in the body.
I listen closely to your dreams and fears, and foster healing the wounds that limit you using EMDR, ego state work, and a sense of humor. With a feminist lens, I help free you up from the constraints of trauma, with a specialty in sexual trauma and alternative sexual expression. I'm savvy in polyamory and BDSM. Clients have called me a witch, a shaman, and a professional shame-buster.
UpWell Psychiatry was founded with the intention of giving a more human, personal touch to psychiatry. We believe in working together to come up with a plan that works just for you. Kelly Aldinger, PMHNP specializes in Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Bipolar and loves working with young adults. Megan Sapp, PMHNP, CNM, FNP is a triple certified nurse midwife, family nurse practitioner and psychiatric NP who is exceptional at treating pregnant or post-partum folks, folx working with hormone replacement, as well as those struggling with significant illness, injury, or big life transitions.
"I am a failure." -"I am broken." -"I have nothing to offer." -"If I make changes, everyone will hate me." -"I can't change." ...Do these sound familiar? You've been trying to solve everything on your own but you're feeling stuck. You really need a space where you can talk through ALL of the jumbled up thoughts and feelings inside, because you're starting to feel like a pressure cooker. I'm a LGBTQIA+ and relationship affirming therapist specializing in trans and nonbinary wellness. I'm experienced with providing counseling to folks across the lifespan, and in and around the gender binary. I'm a staunch believer that all people have the resources inside themselves to make changes toward becoming ever more healthy, connected, and complex. The focus of my approach is self-acceptance. This means that I'm not going to push you to talk about things you're not ready to talk about yet. Instead, we'll make space for you to examine YOUR process toward making the changes YOU want in your life--because it's about damn time. And "I can't change" is, well, bullsh*t.
I love working with young people as they get to know themselves, embark on new opportunities, and grapple with difficult emotional and relational challenges. Sometimes people notice that unresolved grief or trauma comes up for them during a life transition and I am here to support. I offer a welcoming, non judgmental space to talk through what is coming up for you. Change and healing is hard and you shouldn't have to do it alone.
Are you struggling with irritability, anxiety, low mood, poor focus, substance use, or lack of motivation that is impairing your relationships, your career, or your overall quality of life? Have you perhaps tried therapy, but found that your problems persisted? Have you tried medications, but found that psychiatric appointments were too impersonal or that your concerns about possible side effects or worsening symptoms were met with indifference? I provide evidence-based mental health treatment via telemedicine to residents of Oregon. I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment for clients. I offer a free ten-minute initial phone consultation to determine if we are a good fit for each other.
My passion lies in supporting people who may feel stuck, stagnant, or caught in repeating patterns, and who are ready to try something different. The journey forward isn’t always easy, but the support of a compassionate therapist can help you find your way. I strive to create a nurturing space where you can unpack your experiences, reflect deeply, and begin to explore, challenge, and redefine how you show up for yourself and in your life. I warmly welcome individuals of all identities, backgrounds, and orientations. My areas of expertise includes racial and cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, and the challenges of navigating multicultural or bicultural worlds, or those living at the intersections of multiple identities. I practice from a social justice, multicultural, trauma informed, and anti-oppressive framework, ensuring that our work together is inclusive, affirming, and compassionate. I strive to create a space where all parts of you are seen, heard, and valued. A space that honors the depth, complexity, and richness of your lived experience. We'd be a good fit if you're navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and you're looking for a space that feels both supportive and real. I help clients connect with their inner strength, shift limiting thought patterns, and build the self-awareness and compassion that lead to real, lasting change, emotionally, relationally, and in day-to-day life. I also offer culturally and linguistically tailored care for the Latinx community, drawing on shared cultural norms, lived experiences, and traditions. My approach looks at the full picture: your nervous system, your relationships, your patterns, and your environment, not just your symptoms. Therapy works best when it's rooted in a real, trusting relationship, not a checklist. Clients often come to me for support with: - Setting boundaries and breaking free of people-pleasing patterns - Managing adult ADHD and the executive-function stuff that comes with it - Navigating a life transition and just trying to feel like themselves again - Understanding relational patterns, why certain dynamics keep showing up, and building the assertive communication skills to actually say what you need without guilt or over-explaining If you're new to therapy, or coming back after a break, it's completely normal to feel unsure about that first step. It's often the start of some real insight and a stronger relationship with yourself. I bring genuine empathy, intuition, and, when it fits, a little humor, because this work should feel human, not clinical.
I aim to create an environment that is respectful, supportive, and collaborative. My approach to therapy is primarily based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). A core idea in ACT is that trying too hard to get rid of or control our emotions tends to backfire. Thus, instead of trying to get rid of unwanted thoughts, feelings, or emotions, I will help you learn to react differently to them so that you can keep your focus on living a meaningful and fulfilling life based on what’s important to you. This type of approach places your values at the center of therapy. Using your values and existing strengths as a foundation, we will work together to set meaningful goals to address your concerns –whether they relate to life transitions, depression, anxiety, body image, grief/loss, job or academic stress, or gender and sexuality. I have extensive training in working with transgender and gender diverse adults, youth, and families. Transgender clients seeking assessment or counseling services can expect a safe space, and respectful, non-pathologizing, collaborative care. If you are looking for someone to work with regarding gender identity and exploration, I can provide education, support, preparation, and, if indicated, reports/letters for surgery.
Welcome! I have been practicing as a Mental Health Counselor for nearly 10 years, and it continues to be a privilege to support individuals through life’s many challenges. My goal is to help you move toward a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and more at peace. Life comes with bumps and bruises, and it can sometimes feel incredibly lonely. I am here to meet you exactly where you are and offer a space where you can grow, heal, and reconnect with your inner sense of peace. I offer free 20-minute consultation calls so you can get a sense of who I am and whether I feel like the right fit for your needs. You feel alone, prioritize the needs of others, and wonder if things will change, asking: "What am I protecting? Who am I trying to be? What do I want?" Relationships (breakups, separation, dating, divorce) can bring up anxiety, regret, fear and self-judgment. These effect the relationship we have with ourselves. Resentments, anger, and guilt - toward others and within ourselves make us feel disconnected and alone. As a therapist, my aim is to help you reconnect with your SELF. Everyone is different. Our expectations and ideals are influenced by family history, surrounding cultural expectations, and unique experiences. Our therapy sessions help you develop tools to define relationships you want, conquer anxiety, past regrets, self doubt, negative self-image, and slowly dispose of the negative loud inner-monologue (which comes up frequently, when you are trying to navigate your road ahead.) I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist using Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) tools to develop a solid foundation of self - (via telehealth, online) in both Oregon and Washington State. Specialties: Individuals dealing with sleep issues/insomnia, difficulty with focus (ADHD); folks going through separation/divorce to develop purpose, motivation and intention; individuals in relationships cultivate/improve connection; single individuals build a sense of self (aligned with values) which can be applied toward dating and future relationships. __________________________________________ Interested in seeing if we connect? As a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and board certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, my goal is to provide safe, effective, and inclusive care to individuals throughout the Pacific Northwest. With a decade of nursing experience in emergency medicine and psychiatry, my treatment approach prioritizes therapeutic listening and individualized medication management that considers the “whole picture.” I believe that mental health care is most effective when it honors the whole person, fostering not only symptom relief but also a deeper connection to the relationships, activities, and passions that bring us joy. Prior to joining the team at Upwell Psychiatry, I was the lead practitioner of an esketamine (Spravato) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) clinic treating individuals with severe, treatment-resistant mental health conditions. I believe strongly in the power of community in supporting mental wellness, and enjoy working with neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals. Whether you are seeking support for a specific challenge or simply looking to cultivate greater balance and well-being in your life, I’d be glad to partner with you on your mental health journey!
