In the quiet of my office, I will listen closely as you share who you are and what makes you and your life situation unique. I will guide you in expressing and exploring your challenges, then help you find practical solutions for what might now seem like insurmountable challenges. I specialize in grief and loss, trauma and anxiety. With a creative mix of therapy techniques, wisdom and life experience, I build on your strengths, identify and address root causes, and help you create and work towards a plan to achieve the changes you seek. I have advanced certification in EFT-tapping which can be used to process intense emotions and trauma. I spend a full-hour with you each session so I can guide you to a healthier, more productive place in life. My approach is compassionate and non-judgmental. Call now to schedule an appointment.
I specialize in working with survivors of childhood abuse and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). My training is extensive, including EMDRIA-approved Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting (BSP), Internal Family Systems informed interventions (IFS), and couples therapy. I am committed to serving the LGBTQ+ community, offering support for gender-affirming surgery letter evaluations. My goal is to help you process the past so it no longer dictates your present, providing a space where you feel seen and supported. I offer specialized modalities to help process traumatic memories safely and effectively. In my work with couples and sexual health, I take a sex-positive, judgment-free approach, supporting clients through mismatched desire, intimacy barriers, and navigating non-traditional relationship structures such as polyamory or open relationships. Whether we are using somatic techniques or cognitive tools, our work is always collaborative and tailored to your unique healing. Establishing a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in healing; ensuring a comfortable fit is a priority. In our first session, we will focus on building a foundation of safety and respect. We’ll discuss your history, current concerns, and future goals at a pace you are comfortable with. You can expect a professional yet warm environment where we identify the specific roadblocks you would like to overcome. By the end of our meeting, we will have a clear plan for moving forward towards your goals and you will leave with a sense of direction.

I offer both psychotherapy and neuropsychological evaluations in my practice. In therapy, I work with college students who are experiencing distress related to anxiety, depression, disconnection in relationships, attention difficulties, and learning disabilities. I strive to recognize each individual client's strengths as we also pinpoint effective strategies to increase overall life satisfaction. As a neuropsychological evaluator, I specialize in the identification of learning disorders, attention difficulties, anxiety, and autism spectrum disorders.
Perhaps you’ve noticed feeling more anxious or depressed lately, but aren’t sure why, or what you can do to feel like yourself again. Perhaps you’re struggling with relationship tensions, feeling stagnant in studies or find yourself just more generally in a rut. You may be feeling well overall but want to get a grasp on certain issues in your life. Now might be the right time to break free of those patterns and explore other ways of thinking, feeling and being in the world. I offer a non-judgmental space to learn more about yourself, what you want, and how to get there. My practice is depth-oriented; we work collaboratively to get to the root of your problems so you can move forward both with my help and on your own. We learn together to listen better to you so that you can come into a more solid and vital sense of yourself.

I believe that anyone can benefit from counseling, whether or not you have a significant mental health issue or are just facing stressful situations and life transitions. I work collaboratively with each individual client to form goals and a treatment plan that is as unique as the person I'm working with. Common issues that I help clients with include (but are not limited to): anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, anger management, relationship issues, LGBTQIA issues and concerns, self-esteem, family issues, and overall self-improvement. Some clients are looking for short-term counseling to address a specific issue that they currently face, while others are looking for long-term counseling to work through issues from the past or to learn to cope with chronic symptoms. I am here to help no matter where you fall on that spectrum! I am also happy to speak with you on the phone before setting up an initial appointment to determine if I am a good fit for what you hope to get out of therapy.

I help people learn how to take care of themselves. In our sessions, you will develop the skills to navigate family dynamics, understand your needs, communicate boundaries, and build self-trust and self-esteem. So, whether you identify as a conflict avoider, people pleaser, overachiever, perfectionist, or anxious attacher, I can help you figure out who you are, what you want, and who you want to be.
I help people alleviate uncomfortable feelings, gain insight, and increase coping skills to overcome stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and life transitions (such as relocation, school, career transitions). Part of being human means that you will struggle at some point with unproductive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, or unexpectedly have to manage something life throws your way. People I work with are motivated to develop skills to increase their self-confidence, communication, decision making and boundary setting skills. As well as optimize their emotional health/ well-being and are seeking tools to assist them in the process. I take an active and collaborative approach to help create tangible strategies to deal more effectively in the moment with difficult experiences and feelings. In addition to helping people alleviate current pain points, I assist in obtaining skills to develop a wellness practice that will be beneficial beyond sessions. My approach is person-centered and informed by evidence-based practices, including Lifestyle Medicine (nutrition, physical activity, sleep hygiene, and stress management), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Practice and Solution Focused Therapy. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling empowered and in control of their life.
It cannot be overstated what a big deal it is that you have begun to explore finding support for yourself. This first step is one of the hardest. I’d be honored to be a resource for you during this time, and accompany you as you grow and change. The majority of my clients are high achievers of all stripes, from Ivy League students to folks attending competitive conservatories and art schools. I was a performing artist (actor, singer, musician) for 12 years in New York City before changing careers, and I specialize in working with folks who have creative identities. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent, and most also find themselves in overfunctioning/underfunctioning dynamics in their relationships. My main therapy modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as somatic mindfulness-based therapy (Hakomi), and experiential therapy (gestalt). Basically this means that, in therapy, I will support you in getting more familiar with your internal system by helping you track what’s happening in your mind, your body, and between you and I (the therapist and the client). I’ll also guide you towards deepening your relationship with the different “parts” of your system, learning their agendas and desires, which sometimes produce inner conflicts and create stuckness. It’s well-known that being mindful of your body and breath is a great way to reduce stress, and using this practice as real situations arise in therapy will give you a practical way to use it in your day-to-day. As you get to know your system better, you will build greater trust within yourself, allowing for stuck parts to shift and for real lasting change to occur. If you’ve been in therapy before and it just felt like venting, IFS will be different. Pro tip: the research suggests that the therapy modality you use is less important than a trusting relationship with your therapist as far as positive therapy outcomes (though I will happily talk IFS theory for days). Do your best to go with your gut feeling about who intuitively feels right when choosing a therapist, even if right now might be the hardest time to do so. If something about my practice resonates, please reach out and schedule a consultation! I look forward to hearing from you soon!
