I specialize in working with young adults, and adults. The patients I see often come to me with issues such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self harm trauma and coping with life. I utilize a mixed array of techniques for adolescents and adult clients. Some techniques I use are Motivational Interviewing, Strength Based Therapy, and Person Centered. I believe it is important to find a good match when finding a therapist. I work to create an environment where the individual feels comfortable, as therapy can be vulnerable at times. As a therapist I believe we are a team.
The clients I work best with are young adults who are navigating complex relationship and intimacy challenges, struggling with self-esteem, or experiencing anxiety and depression. Often, these individuals are seeking a safe space to better understand themselves, heal from past hurts, and build stronger, healthier connections with others. My ideal clients are looking for guidance in managing overwhelming emotions, improving their mental health, and gaining the tools they need to navigate relationships and life transitions. Many have faced feelings of isolation, low self-worth, or uncertainty in their personal lives and are ready to explore solutions that can help them grow and thrive. If you’ve been feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected in your relationships or struggle to find confidence within yourself, we may be a good fit. I aim to create a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where you can express yourself openly, explore your experiences, and work towards meaningful change.
When life presents us with challenges and unexpected turns, we are given options for an opportunity for change; to not allow them to define our present or our future. Many of us face difficult situations that can get in the way of a full, satisfying life. Each individual has the strength within to grow and find a healthy balance. Sometimes, we need a little extra guidance to see that life's challenges can be transformed into healing opportunities. Therapy can offer a breath of hope to those who feel lost, stuck and alone. One of the most important factors in successful therapy is finding a therapist that you feel comfortable with. Therapy also provides exploration on learning how to find your true sense of self. Working together helps develop a better understanding of yourself, while re-claiming your personal strengths. It takes courage to start the process of building a trusting, therapeutic relationship. Finding the right fit in a therapist is a really important step. Telling your story and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself will have an enormous, positive impact. Let's connect to uncover your full potential.

I strive to create an atmosphere of trust, respect, and compassion that allows people to become more self-aware, to find healing, and to living a more fulfilling life. I'm very familiar with the needs and issues of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students because I worked for two years at the University Counseling Center and have had many students in my practice. I offer individual and relationship counseling and integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques based on the particular needs of each client or couple. I provide support and direction, but also find it essential to work collaboratively with my clients. And, I not only help address the specific problems clients bring to therapy, but also strive to assist them in identifying and fostering their specific strengths and abilities. I have a teletherapy only practice. I’ve worked with a large number of students via this format and it has proved very successful. Many people like it because it's so convenient, especially when they’re juggling a busy schedule or don't have transportation. I’m always glad to have an initial conversation to answer any questions you might have about teletherapy or my practice. A note about insurance and payment: Some insurances other than those listed under the finance section may be covered. Actual costs for therapy are based on your insurance's copay amounts. Most clients with insurance only pay between $10-$40 per session. If I'm not able to accept your insurance, session costs will be based on your income if you are emancipated from your parents or a graduate student. If you are still a dependent in your parent's household then your fee would be based on your parent's combined income.
I work best with students who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or hard on themselves, and are looking for a supportive space to sort through what’s going on. Many are navigating stress, relationships, or big life transitions and want practical tools along with a place to feel understood. Please contact me using my email or phone number (call/text) or book a session through the website link at the bottom of this page!
I provide individual therapy, consultations, neuropsychological assessments, and group-based services for children, teens, and adults. Across services, I offer personalized, compassionate care and help individuals and families harness sources of strength and resilience. Throughout this process, clients are better able to handle and cope with difficult circumstances in a busy world. More specifically, I use evidence-based approaches, such as CBT or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to help clients address concerns and make changes that improve quality of life across contexts, including relationships with family or friends, school or work experiences, and overall wellbeing. Implicit to my practice is the belief that each one of us possesses the emotional wherewithal and many of the skills needed to navigate life’s journey; sometimes we just need to gain additional perspective and access workable strategies to move forward.
Adjusting to college can be a difficult transition. It can be an overwhelming and isolating experience. And I'm here to partner with you to make that transition easier. If you are looking for relief from stress, sadness, anxiety, relationship difficulties, uncertainty about your next step, needing help with developing coping skills, or wanting to better understand yourself, I'm here to help guide you towards those goals. You do not have to go through it alone. I look forward to working with you!
Hello! My name is Abigayle Bennett, but you can call me Abi. I am in my second year of my Master’s of Social Work at Binghamton University and hold an Associate’s in Human Services and a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Education. I have been working in children’s and family services for the majority of my career, and hope to eventually open a Child and Family Development Center and offer an inclusive space for families to seek tools and resources to improve their family’s mental well-being. I specialize in areas such as anxiety, mood disorders, parenting and family issues, relationships, self-esteem, self-harm, lgbtq+ youth, and domestic/sexual abuse. I strive to create a laid-back, open, and approachable environment in our sessions. I understand that starting therapy can be daunting, but I aim to make our therapeutic relationship as comfortable and supportive as possible. My goal is to be someone you feel at ease talking to so that you can freely share and explore your thoughts and feelings. I know how intimidating it can be to bare your soul to a stranger, so I want to work together to build a strong therapeutic relationship so we can tackle your needs as a team. I firmly believe that mental health has to start from a sort of ground-up perspective. In order to control your feelings, emotions, and reactions, you have to understand them and be able to respond to them using tools that meet you where you’re at. I practice primarily using CBT, DBT, mindfulness, attachment theory, and family systems theory. In our sessions, we will use an eclectic mix of various therapeutic frameworks to best meet your needs. In session, this may look like guided meditations, processing past traumas, exploring family dynamics, and cognitive reprogramming techniques. By utilizing a mix of modalities, we can work together to find ways to best respond to the difficulties and struggles you may be facing, and hopefully overall improve your quality of life.
