Do you struggle with difficult emotions? Feel that something is missing? Unsatisfied with aspects of your life? Working together, I can help you learn to understand your feelings; untangle complicated emotions; increase positive experiences, improve communication and relationships; end cycles of depression and anxiety. Sometimes you feel the need or desire to initiate change. Other times change may present itself in a way that leaves you feeling that you have limited or no influence over your circumstances. I help people deal effectively with change. Is it time to prioritize what is important to you? I work with adults and adolescents removing barriers, initiating and navigating change that leads to a life they value and enjoy. If these sound like goals you have and you are ready to move forward we will be a good fit for working together.

Whether you are living in physical pain or emotional pain, we will work together to help you sleep better, decrease pain, improve relationships, get "unstuck" and feel happier. One of our greatest goals as clinicians is treating you with the support and care you deserve. We not only want to help you feel better, we want to help you live better and move out of negative patterns of behavior that do not serve you. We work from an integrative perspective, meaning that we have been trained in a wide variety of psychological techniques and will combine them to help you achieve your goals. We will teach you to use the tools that help you most, so that you can continue to work with these techniques on your own, once you have completed therapy. And that sense of independence and control you gain over your own life, that will feel truly fulfilling!

Hi! My name is Audrey and I am passionate about supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, low self-esteem, and life transitions. I’m committed to walking alongside my clients as they work toward healing, growth, and greater self-understanding. I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where individuals can feel safe, supported, and understood. My approach is tailored to each client’s unique needs, with a strong focus on building trust, connection, and a comfortable therapeutic relationship. Together, we’ll work to better understand what you’re going through, build tools, and help you move toward a version of life that feels more manageable and aligned. I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for help, and I truly admire the strength it takes to begin the therapy process.

I specialize in supporting college students who are navigating the many transitions that come with this stage of life. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by academic pressure, questioning your direction, adjusting to new environments, or trying to balance relationships, you don’t have to figure it out alone. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I aim to create a space where you can speak openly without feeling judged or misunderstood. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on in your life, build tools to manage stress and emotions, and help you move toward the version of yourself and your life that feels most authentic and meaningful. I’m especially passionate about working with college students because I remember how complex and overwhelming that time can be. My goal is to be the kind of therapist I wish I had when I was in college; someone who truly listens, understands the challenges of transitional life experiences, and offers steady support while you figure things out at your own pace. Philosophy The guiding philosophy of my practice is to help people understand themselves in the service of personal development within the context of a safe and reliable relationship with another person. I believe that deep and rich self-examination requires rigorous and systematic pursuit on the part of both therapist and patient as they work together. I place a high value on curiosity, creativity, purposeful aims, tolerance of discomfort, and the strength for meaningful work and satisfying relationships. These cannot be attained in a vacuum, but rather are experienced or learned through the medium of the psychotherapeutic relationship. The internal world of imagination and the life of the mind are brought into balance with social relatedness and external realities. Therapist and patient endeavor to find verbal language to express the patient’s inner experience, feelings, thoughts, and that for which no words have yet been found. The human mind, brain, body and experience are neither separable nor unconnected, but instead form a comprehensive, whole system. Although it is tempting to think of stressors, struggles, problems, issues, events, transitions, and diseases as discrete and unique, I understand symptoms, perceptions, traumas and diagnoses not as circumscribed and distinct entities, but as signposts of underlying, complex unconscious expressions. By recruiting present and/or past events, the unconscious mind disguises itself defensively, in order to remain hidden and unchanged. Together, therapist and patient seek to discover the origins and symbolic meanings of symptoms, their purposes and functions, while accumulating new experiences formed by the proceedings of the psychotherapy process itself. In this way, patients find or re-discover authentic aspects of themselves, integrate or re-integrate shards of themselves that have been unconsciously split off or disconnected, and learn or re-learn how to interact with themselves, others and their environments. The result is the freeing of energy that has been bound up unproductively in the form of painful, unsatisfying, automatic and inhibiting symptoms, so that the energy may be re-directed toward consciously and voluntarily chosen, fulfilling, productive pursuits. If, among the pioneers of modern science, we count Einstein, who forever changed our view of the universe, and Darwin, who forever changed our view of humanity’s place in nature, we must count Freud, who forever changed our view of the human mind, probably the most complex structure in the universe, as the third, and arguably the greatest, of these intellectual heroes. His discovery of psychological defenses against self-knowledge, and his methods of detecting and resolving those defenses, stand among the highest achievements of humankind.

I come to the practice of counseling after many years working in student services in a university setting. I find (as the research continues to show) that the most important element of effective counseling is the connection between client and counselor—we will work collaboratively. I draw on many approaches including but not limited to client-centered, mindfulness, existential therapy, attachment theory, Buddhist psychology, solution-focused, trauma-informed, grief work, and internal parts work. I am in network with Aetna insurance and UHC/Optum and I also take direct pay (sliding scale is $170 to $120). I am seeing clients mostly through a HIPAA compliant video platform. Currently (Spring 2026), I do have a small number of openings for new clients. I am licensed to practice in New York, Connecticut, Maine, New Mexico, and registered for on line counseling in Florida and South Carolina.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My goal as a therapist is to help you achieve your goals and assist you in resolving or overcoming any challenges you may be facing. I have a no nonsense, solutions focused approach to therapy- the goal is not to have you in therapy forever, but rather to tackle the problem and then go out and live your best life. Deciding to seek help can be really challenging, so congratulations on taking that step! Everyone has a unique story and deserves an individualized approach to care. Once we decide to work together, we’ll act as partners in your therapeutic journey, but keep in mind therapy requires that YOU need to put in the work! I’ll be there to listen to you, and to really challenge you. Of course I will support you along the way. In our first session you will have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. I will share my approach to therapy and how I may be able to assist you. From there, if you chose to work with me, we’ll work together in the sessions that follow to make these goals a reality for you.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with five years of experience, my work centers on helping adults navigate anxiety, relationship dynamics, and complex trauma so they can break old cycles, establish healthy boundaries, and reclaim control of their lives. While I have a particular passion for supporting BIPOC individuals and communities, I welcome and celebrate patients of all backgrounds. Anxiety and the weight of difficult relationships can make it hard to see a way forward. Together, we'll work to change that. I believe in the power of collaboration, allowing me to be your active, supportive partner in this process to help you cultivate a stronger sense of peace, self-awareness, and confidence in the life you want to build. Tailoring therapy to the unique individual rather than fitting anyone into a rigid structure is something I feel strongly about, because your healing should reflect who you are, not a one-size-fits-all model. That’s why my approach is eclectic, collaborative, and person-centered from the very beginning. You can always expect a warm, empathetic, and genuinely supportive environment in our sessions. Using humanistic and integrative methods, I work to ensure you feel deeply heard and empowered to make lasting changes. Your unique presenting concerns shape how we work together, and I adapt my style with that in mind every step of the way. Every person who walks through my door deserves a space that feels safe and welcoming, a place to pause, reflect, and explore your thoughts and emotions as you navigate life's ups and downs. Having personally navigated anxiety and depression, I understand in a real and meaningful way what it takes to find balance, resilience, and healing. This lived experience fuels the depth of care and compassion I bring to every session. My Jamaican background further enriches the care I offer, allowing me to connect with Caribbean patients and others from diverse cultural backgrounds in ways that are sensitive, affirming, and grounded in an understanding of your unique story. Movement and nourishment are big parts of how I stay grounded. Whether I'm at Pilates, the gym, discovering a new restaurant, or planning the next trip on my list, I'm most at home when I'm exploring and savoring what life has to offer.
