Natalia is the Associate Director of the Counseling Service at Vassar College, where she counsels students from diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. In addition, at Vassar, she trains the next generation of psychotherapists as a senior supervisor to MSW students and Post-Doctoral Candidates. Natalia was born and raised in South America, and from a young age, she was interested in how culture, family, and the environment shape who we are and who we want to become. Her quest to understand cultures, traditions, and systems led her to learn languages, live, study, and grow on three continents. Thus, Natalia approaches her psychotherapeutic from a multicultural lens, helping you make sense of what brought you to this moment as a base to understand where you want to go and support you as you get there. Natalia trained as a psychotherapist in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and received her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania where she found her passion for working with college students as a trainee at the Counseling and Psychological Services of UPENN. Making the first call is sometimes the hardest part of the therapeutic process. I commend you for your strength and courage in seeking help. One of the most important steps of pursuing counseling is finding a passionate, knowledgeable, and trusting therapist that you feel comfortable with. If a mood disorder or anxiety is taking control of your life, I can help you to learn how to manage it. If you are experiencing challenges with your significant other(s), friends, family members I can help you to improve the connection, understanding, and intimacy. I am here for you, holding space for you, rooting for you, encouraging you, holding you accountable if needed, and empowering you. Do you or your partner have concerns about sexual issues including but not limited to; sexual desire/arousal, interests, orientation, impulsivity, compulsivity, erectile functioning, trouble reaching orgasm, painful intercourse, intimacy issues related to disability or chronic condition, or concerns regarding past unwanted sexual experiences? My approach to therapy is based on the idea that if we can gain self-awareness and insight into our thoughts, feelings and behaviors, then we can learn and develop the skills we need to have more satisfying relationships, with ourselves and others, and better cope with life's challenges.
I am a licensed psychotherapist and I specialize in supporting youth and young adults navigating chronic illness (e.g., autoimmune disorders), anxiety, depression, sports-related stress, disordered eating, weight loss, trauma, and relationship challenges. Facing a chronic condition at a young age can feel isolating, and life changes such as starting college, beginning a new career, or being a student-athlete may be overwhelming. Navigating body image and your relationship with food can be confusing, and trying to lose weight only to fall back into old habits can feel defeating. Being a young person in today’s world IS hard - like trying to keep your head above water. I lead sessions with compassion and lightheartedness. As a psychotherapist and future dietitian, I often use health psychology research and mind-body practices during the healing process. Therefore, I honor each person’s lived experience while helping them understand how their brain and body respond to stress. I work to help you develop helpful thought patterns, identify your strengths, live by your values, and find relief. Most importantly, I hold space to be a human. If you feel that I may be a good fit for your needs, I would be happy to connect and discuss how I can help you on your healing journey.

I have extensive experience working with individuals navigating addiction and recovery, depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and stress. I also incorporate DBT-informed coping skills—particularly mindfulness—which I’ve found to be powerful tools in both clinical work and everyday life. Together, we’ll focus on what matters most to you. I typically structure sessions around one or two main areas to help keep our work focused and meaningful. Treatment planning is a collaborative process, and I strive to make sure it aligns with your unique needs and goals. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and taking that first step is a brave decision. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can be heard, understood, and empowered. I believe in a patient-centered approach—working collaboratively to understand your goals, meet you where you are, and support you at your pace. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin, I’d be honored to support you. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.
College a new world. Young adults often begin to experience anxiety and depression for the first time there, while some have been struggling for years. Either way, dealing with these feelings with experienced help is often the most effective way to approach emotional issues. I’ve worked with many college students on anxiety, depression, the stress of academics, social issues, family conflict, anxiety about careers, and other issues that come up out of this huge change. I help students learn to relate to themselves with curiosity and compassion, quieting that inner voice of self criticism, which will then allow a transition to change and growth. If we both think it’s helpful, I can also intervene with parents, in order to help them understand your struggles better, and have more supportive, constructive family discussions. I also teach mindfulness skills, which helps to cope with overwhelming feelings.
