Nicholas Glikos Online Therapy
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Queens, NY

Welcome to my practice! My name is Nick and I am a licensed mental health counselor, credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor, and board certified telemental health provider. All services are offered online only. Most of our suffering derives from within. Imagine if you talked to a loved one the way you talk to yourself, or if someone spoke to you the way you speak to yourself. It would be unacceptable and it would not be tolerated. Yet we surrender to these thoughts, repeating the same hurtful, debilitating monologue in the echo chamber of our mind. Herein lies the certainty that derives from being on your own, stuck in a position you never reasoned yourself into in the first place. As you develop an awareness of these thoughts that have so greatly affected your life, you’ll learn how to develop a new, more rational narrative based on the values and beliefs that you yourself will create. As your therapist, my job is to navigate this process as you learn to actively change your thoughts, which change your feelings and impact your actions. I am a firm believer in achieving functionality. We want life to work for us, and not against us. Being a flawed, living, breathing human being, I too struggle with this everyday, and I bring that intense desire to make things work in the therapeutic relationship. We work together to solve the ambivalence. It is understandable that when it comes to our motivation to change, we have our ups & downs. I know what it feels like to be stuck. It’s painful, and when you’re in it, you think it will never end. The good news is that it does, and the process of seeing that end can be so much better having someone that understands you by your side, every step of the way. So are you ready to get started?

Clinical Social Work/Therapist
The Bronx, NY

I am a Clinical Social Worker in New York State. I specialize in treating anxiety and depression in adolescents and adults using evidence based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Our college years are one of the best years of my life. It was a time where I experienced a major shift in the way I saw the world and reframed many of my lived experiences. College was also one of the most stressful times in my life. The deadlines, the professors who didn't care I had other classes to study for, the part-time work and wok study...so many all nighters. And somehow making time to be social. All of these things make uo the college experience but I realized, many years later, that some things, such as the constant worrying about deadlines, the panic sweat waiting for my professors to give me feedback, and the fact I typically slept four hours a day, were not normal things I should have "pushed through" as I often told myself those days. I wished someone had been there to tell me to step back and take care of myself more. Now, as a therapist, I hope I can be the person who helps get you through the dualities that is your college years.

While you are uniquely special, your struggles are more common than you think. We all have challenges, and often in very universal ways. It’s all part of the human experience. Psychotherapy is a great way to help guide you through life’s trials and tribulations. It can be profoundly healing to have a safe space in which to be affirmed and productively challenged. Together we can explore issues related to ambivalence, shame, resilience, boundaries, connection, confidence, and self-development in order to help you fully show up in your life. I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, unhealthy relationship dynamics, life transitions, substance abuse, and trauma, as well as with the LGBTQ+ community. I also utilize a variety of evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy. I base my practice around the use of empathy and empowerment. My style is warm and down-to-earth, while also naming things in order to illuminate insight and draw meaning. The key will be for me to support you in your own self-determination. Wherever you are today on your life’s path, I want to help promote positive change and growth.
