If you’re a woman or queer person who seems put-together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of who you’re becoming on the inside, you’re not alone. Many of my clients describe shutting down in social settings, feeling pressure to perform, comparing themselves constantly, or wondering why things that once felt easy now feel impossibly heavy. They’re exhausted from pretending they’re fine, disconnected from their own needs, and scared by how quickly their emotions or motivation can swing. I help clients make sense of these intense inner shifts through a somatic, trauma-informed, and spiritually grounded approach. Together, we slow down enough to track what your body and emotions are trying to say, stress patterns, numbness, overthinking, people-pleasing, or the impulse to disappear. Instead of forcing insight or navigating it alone, you get a space to explore identity, relationships, boundaries, burnout, and the pressure to figure everything out. This work helps soften shame, reduce spirals, and reconnect you to what’s real and steady within you. Clients often describe feeling calmer, clearer, and more able to show up for their lives with presence and self-trust. They communicate more honestly, rest without guilt, reconnect with people they care about, and feel less ruled by anxiety or self-attack. If you’re ready to understand what’s shifting inside you, and want support that meets you with depth, compassion, and grounded tools, I’d be honored to walk with you.

Are you zoning out on this page right now hoping the answers to your problems will magically materialize? Scrolling on here in the late hours of the evening because your mind just won’t stop racing? (Caught ya, but you’ve come to the right place.) You’ve been dealing with a lot that life has been throwing at you lately and it’s hard to just keep up, let alone feel like yourself. You’re tired of keeping it all locked up in your head, putting on a fake smile for the people in your life day in and day out while you’re ready to explode from the pressure inside. You want to step into your life and start living, and I mean really living. You wish you could stop feeling controlled by those unhelpful, nagging thoughts and be present with your loved ones. You want to find balance in all the things that matter to you. And you know what? You deserve it after all you’ve been through. I specialize in helping individuals get back in touch with their true selves and I’m trained in evidence-based practices (EMDR!) to help you get where you want to be. Clients tend to appreciate my strengths-based, down to earth style sprinkled in with a bit of humor. I offer convenient and secure telehealth sessions that mesh well with your busy lifestyle.

I am a clinical psychologist with 8 years of experience. I primarily work from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework. Together, we’ll clarify what is most important to you, identify your life goals, and strategize ways to reduce your suffering while moving you closer to those goals. I also integrate CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. My approach is transparent, intersectional, and above all: human. All of your identities are welcome here, so let’s talk about how your mental health intersects with race, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and all the other parts that make you, you. I specialize in working with clients (16+) who identify across the spectrums of gender and sexual orientation, and families who want to learn how to be more supportive of their loved ones. My (virtual) therapy room is a safe/brave space for anyone whose identity tends to be excluded from society. I offer individual, couples, and family therapy via telehealth. I also provide supervision, consultation, and workshops around topics of diversity and mental health. To learn more and see if we might be a good fit, reach out for a free consultation. Please note: I am not in network with any medicaid ("community plan") or medicare plans. I am in network only with the commercial insurances noted in this profile. Referrals with United Healthcare Community Plan (Medicaid) will be referred back to the counseling center for an alternate referral.

Oh college, it's "supposed" to be the best days of your life...whoever came up with that needs a serious reality check. I've been through it and have also worked with enough college students, young adults, and adults of all ages to say that for many of us, that statement is completely false. So please know that if you find that these are not the best days (or even if you feel that these are the worst days), you are not alone. There is nothing "wrong" with you and I am here to help. I unfortunately don't have a magic wand to transform your college experience into something you see in the movies, but I provide a combination of medication management and brief supportive therapy (a fancy way of saying I include some therapy during our 30 minute medication follow up appointments) that can help address concerns like depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, and mood disorders. I’ll work with you to create a personalized plan that meets your unique needs and helps you achieve your mental health goals. Talking about medication can be daunting. When I prescribe it, my goal isn’t to change who you are, but to help you rediscover what life can be like when your symptoms are managed. While medication won’t solve every issue, it can be a powerful tool alongside therapy and lifestyle changes, enabling you to reclaim your ability to thrive.

The transition to college at any age can be challenging. Course load, social pressures and changes to friend network during this transition can cause anxiety, depression, burnout and relationship issues. These things can keep you awake at night, make it difficult to focus on your studies, lead you to engage in negative self-talk and unhealthy behaviors. I can help you develop coping strategies to help ease that transition so you can make healthy choices and achieve your educational goals.

Maybe you’ve been the “easy kid” — the one who doesn’t make waves, keeps it together, and takes care of everyone else. On the outside, you look fine. Inside, you feel unseen, weighed down, or like no one really gets you. I’m Citlali (seet-la-lee), but most call me Lali (like lollipop) a therapist who helps young adults with parents who can’t always show up emotionally. In therapy, you don’t have to pretend or be “the strong one.” This is a space just for you — to talk about what’s real, to figure out who you are, and to feel supported instead of alone. Reach out to schedule your free 15 minute intro call to see if we're a good fit together! I look forward to connecting soon :)

During your life, you may experience difficult periods of adjustment related to major life changes and/or losses, difficulty in relationships, and/or cultural/social differences in environmental contexts. These periods in your life may lead to or be related to general difficulty coping with life circumstance, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. I provide a holistic approach to working with clients striving to understand them from an intrapsychic, interpersonal, and sociocultural perspective. In working with you, I endeavor to understand how your personality, relationships, and sociocultural identities and environmental contexts interact to affect your psychological functioning and wellbeing. Personal development through counseling/psychotherapy comes from feeling secure in a relational context to explore one's issues. Primary to this process is the establishment of a nurturing therapeutic relationship/alliance. In establishing a safe environment, I will assist you in experiencing more satisfying attitudes, relationships, and feeling more empowered. A major aspect of my work involves understanding how racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity affects one's psychosocial functioning. Understanding your sociocultural identities and how they inform and affect your life assists me in determining what interventions and techniques will be most appropriate for you.
