Maybe you’ve been the “easy kid” — the one who doesn’t make waves, keeps it together, and takes care of everyone else. On the outside, you look fine. Inside, you feel unseen, weighed down, or like no one really gets you. I’m Citlali (seet-la-lee), but most call me Lali (like lollipop) a therapist who helps young adults with parents who can’t always show up emotionally. In therapy, you don’t have to pretend or be “the strong one.” This is a space just for you — to talk about what’s real, to figure out who you are, and to feel supported instead of alone. Reach out to schedule your free 15 minute intro call to see if we're a good fit together! I look forward to connecting soon :)

If you're feeling stuck in cycles you can't quite explain and want to understand yourself more fully, I can help. With over 20 years in clinical practice, I provide psychotherapy and assessment for adults with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. My psychotherapy approach is psychodynamic, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed. Together, we will explore how your symptoms may have developed as adaptations to difficult life experiences, identify recurring patterns and discover where change is possible. Part of our work is developing a way of listening that tunes in not only to what is being said but also to what remains unspoken. I provide personality and adult ADHD assessments. In my view, assessment is not simply a way to assign a diagnosis, but an opportunity to answer longstanding questions and recognize strengths alongside patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I have a particular interest in working with adults from immigrant backgrounds. Living between cultures can leave you feeling unsure where you belong or wondering how to stay true to yourself while remaining connected to your family and community. I offer a culturally attuned and respectful space where these experiences can be explored with self-compassion.
Therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, grounded in reality, and focused on meaningful progress. I bring an integrative, strengths-based, and goal-oriented approach to our work together. Whether you are navigating a specific life transition, managing chronic stress, or working through deeper emotional hurdles, my aim is to help you uncover what is working, identify what needs to change, and build a practical roadmap to get there. My Approach Strengths-Based & Collaborative: We will focus heavily on identifying and leveraging your natural strengths and resiliencies—finding the things you are already good at and using them as a foundation for growth. Solution-Focused & Goal-Oriented: We work together to figure out what needs to change, why those changes matter to you, and how to make them happen in a sustainable way. Flexible & Balanced: Therapy should meet you where you are. I am comfortable giving you the time and space needed to develop insight, motivation, and clear goals. At the same time, I am not afraid to gently encourage change, support healthy risk-taking, and help hold you accountable to your own aspirations. Contextual & Systemic: Problems do not occur in a vacuum. Your experiences are shaped by your relationships, your environment, and society at large—especially where systemic oppression or social barriers are present. Background & Experience With over two decades of clinical experience across a wide array of backgrounds and challenges, I have spent my career supporting individuals through profound adversity. Crisis & Complex Care: Extensive background working with individuals experiencing extreme poverty, homelessness, and severe mental health conditions. Veterans Care: Currently serving as a Suicide Prevention Coordinator, providing specialized, compassionate care to Veterans at risk. Core Beliefs: I firmly believe that people can change and grow, and that therapy can and should be time-limited. You do not have to carry your challenges alone, and healing happens best when we look at the whole person within their world.
My name is Courtney and my focus in my counseling work connects with guiding individuals to rediscover their sense of self when facing challenges. It's common for anxiety, depression, shame, and guilt to emerge during difficult times, especially times of life changes, and if this resonates with you, you are not alone. I am dedicated to offering supportive reflection and compassionate listening, empowering you to tap into your inner resilience, strengths, and sense of purpose. I specialize in working with individuals (16+) experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression, and with those who are experiencing difficulties with life transitions, self-esteem, and stress. I have specific experience working with individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQIA+), and I also provide EMDR therapy. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where we can address past challenges, current stressors, and concerns about what's next. No matter the challenges you may be facing, I am here to provide support and guidance as we navigate through them together in therapy. We can work collaboratively to understand the impact of these challenges on your life and identify skills and coping mechanisms that can aid in your journey. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, drawing from attachment theory, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and mindfulness-based interventions. Whether you’re navigating personal struggles, relationship issues, or life transitions, my goal is to empower you to discover insights, develop resilience, and embark on a path towards positive change. I see women only at this time.
I specialize in sleep difficulties, anxiety, nightmares, and trauma. I have a passion for helping people achieve their mental health goals and regain the energy and focus they need to achieve their goals and ambitions. I have seen evidence-based practices for insomnia, nightmares and trauma begin to alleviate debilitating symptoms in a very short amount of time. Whether you have been suffering for 3 months or 3 decades, I have witnessed people recover and regain a quality of their lives they thought was lost. Since recovery can be abrupt and dramatic for some, I also address adjustment to your sense of identity and grief associated with the many losses these struggles have caused. My style is interactive and direct, and I am passionate about helping clients work through areas where they feel stuck and hopeless. I understand how sleep issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal conflicts can make every day a struggle. One of my greatest joys is witnessing a client regain hope and recognize the ripple effect the one small change they made will have on their lives. We will work together to discover your strengths, learn new skills, and use them to create positive, lasting change.

Reaching out for support can be hard, but you are not alone. Everyone has experienced their own life journey which can involve grief/loss, relational ruptures, parenting struggles or trauma. Sometimes this journey can leave adults in a place where it is hard to find the motivation to complete everyday tasks, manage life stress or have patience with our loved ones. This can be true for children too, which may cause them to struggle in school, have emotional outbursts or display signs of anxiety. No matter what is bringing you, your child, or family to this moment in time, I am honored to be a part of your journey. With 7+ years of experience working with adults, teens, children and infants I am well versed in several different therapeutic techniques that can be adapted to fit each person’s needs. In addition to being a clinical social worker, I am also a Registered Play Therapist and have extensive training in providing Infant/Child-Parent Psychotheray. It is crucial to healing to find a therapist that is the right fit. I believe that meaningful change comes from having a safe space where you can bring your true and authentic self without judgement; this is true for both adults and children. My goal is not to have the answers but to partner with you through the journey of healing and discovering yourself.
