You are not satisfied with what’s happening (or not happening) in your bedroom. -Maybe you would like more sexual intimacy with your partner and every time you ask for it, it blows up in your face because they think all you want is just sex. -Maybe you are struggling with performance anxiety and you’ve been avoiding sex so you don't have to face the sense of failure or disappointment that comes with it. -Or Maybe your low libido is making sex feel like a chore or obligation and is keeping you from enjoying your sex life all together. Then, let’s get to work! I help motivated individuals and couples that have the desire to reclaim their sexual self and reignite the passion in their relationship, relax and be playful with each other again.
I commend you for taking the first step at bettering your mental health! My focus is working with teens-young adults. I specialize in relationship issues, women's issues, and life transitions. I also have experience working with anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, family conflict, internalized stress, and self-esteem. My approach is warm and empathetic, I often use humor and sarcasm (when appropriate) to help the client feel comfortable and relatable. I use an integrated intervention method mixed with cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, strengths-based perspective, compassion focused, and culturally sensitive, however, I adjust the treatment modality to best suit your needs. It is important to show up and be an active participant in therapy to work toward the changes you desire, and I look forward to helping you with that journey!

There are things that you have to deal with that are too difficult to take on by yourself. Unfortunately, it is not always clear which direction to take- you need someone to bounce ideas off of, someone who is objective and has the experience to help you find your way. I believe that you have the tools you need to make the changes that you need to make. My role as therapist is to help you find those tools within yourself and to learn trust yourself enough to use them. I have worked with clients who are dealing with adjustment, life-stage transitions, identity issues and family problems. Many of my clients seek therapy for relationship issues and when struggling with grief, depression or anxiety.

Many of the people I work with have complicated histories and families. They have struggled with relationships and symptoms of one kind or another and come to therapy to share their experiences, often for the very first time. I earned my doctorate at Rutgers University in the School of Social Work and I have been in private practice for over twenty-five years working with adults, couples, adolescents and families. I received my MSW at Columbia University and a Post Masters Certificate in Individual Therapy at Hunter College School of Social Work. I completed my psychoanalytic training at The Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey; I serve on the Board of Directors and Training Committee as Dean of Students and I teach and supervise psychotherapists. My approach to therapy utilizes Contemporary Psychoanalysis, Attachment Theory, Trauma Theory, Emotionally Focused Theory (EFT), and EMDR.
Hello! I am Jacqueline Treml and I've been a psychotherapist in the community for over 25 years. Although I specialize in Anxiety, OCD & Phobias, I also practice EMDR for trauma, as well as offering support around the full spectrum of issues including identity, relationships, depression, and issues around grief & loss. I have seen many students over the years who are struggling with perfectionism, self-doubt, intense anxiety and depression, and who are working out difficult relationship dynamics with family, friends, and intimate partners. I hope that by coming to therapy with me, you are offered a warm and comforting environment where we can look together at issues without judgment. I will try to offer you perspective and what wisdom I've gained over the years to help your life at Cornell be what you'd like it to be. I look forward to hearing from you.
Welcome, glad you're here! Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. Creating a trusting environment for you is paramount. I am passionate about helping people feel safe, validated, and heard. This is a collaborative experience where we'll work together to examine relationships and communication, increase self-compassion and emotional regulation, and develop insights into your beliefs and behaviors. We can also discuss how nutrition and gut health play an integral, fundamental role in achieving comprehensive wellness. I want to help you feel empowered, live your most satisfying life, and be the best version of yourself. I believe such comprehensive wellness requires a holistic approach that includes exploring our emotional, physical, and energetic selves so we may better appreciate the interdependence of our internal systems. Since therapy is a unique, interactive process, I use several approaches including Psychodynamic, Polyvagal Informed Therapy, IFS (Internal Family Systems), and life experiences to deepen the work. When we have understanding, compassion, and context, we begin to release negative feelings and can start to forge ahead creating different pathways and skills to handle life. After shedding light on what brings us shame, it loses its hold over us. As Brene Brown offers, “when we deny the story, it defines us. When we own the story we can write a brave new ending.” While there are uncomfortable feelings that arise in therapy, there is also laughter, connection, insight, compassion, and relief. In addition to discussing how you want to improve your life, we also talk about what is going well for you and what positive things you are doing that help you have meaningful relationships and make successful decisions. Most often the therapeutic relationship is the vehicle through which deep healing and lasting change occur. I invite you to notice, honor, and “welcome all of your parts” with compassionate curiosity. Together, we look at the past to inform the present and work towards a brighter future. .
You are not broken — you are human. And being human means facing change, pressure, and uncertainty — things that can feel especially heavy during college. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, questioning who you are or what’s next, or trying to balance school, family, and your own expectations. You don’t have to figure it out alone. Therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, and begin again — with support and intention. In our sessions, you’ll find a warm, understanding space where you can show up just as you are — no need to have it all together. My role isn’t to fix you, but to walk beside you. Together, we’ll explore what’s been weighing on you, reconnect you with your strengths, and find new ways forward that feel true to who you are. Every student’s story is different. That’s why I don’t believe in one “right” way to do therapy. Our work will be shaped by your needs, your culture, and your goals. Whether you’re coping with stress, adjusting to college life, dealing with family or relationship challenges, or trying to rediscover your sense of purpose, we’ll move at your pace. A big part of our work will be exploring three things: WHY – Why are you seeking change? PURPOSE – What gives your life meaning? PRIORITIES – What matters most to you right now? When we understand your why, purpose, and priorities, therapy becomes more than just talking — it becomes growth. Wherever you are in your process, you don’t have to walk it alone. I’m here to meet you where you are and support you as you find your way forward.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. The patients I see often come to me with issues such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self harm and childhood trauma. I utilize play therapy techniques for my younger patients, as well as integrating components of art and talk therapy. For adolescents and adults, I use a mixed array of techniques including Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person Centered. I have a Golden Retriever, Loki, who loves to be an added support as well! I feel that it is necessary to find a great match when seeking out a therapist. It is important for the individual to feel comfortable, as therapy can be an extremely vulnerable time. I believe that building a genuine relationship is necessary for any "good work" to be done. Therapy is a joint effort, as a therapist, I believe that we are working as a team

The focus of my work is helping young people, adults, and couples respond to and manage feelings that negatively impact life, relationships, and work. I have successfully helped many young adults work through and solve problems coping with transitions and life adjustments. As a clinical social worker and psychotherapist in community mental health settings in NYC and the Hudson Valley, I have helped people experiencing acute symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress, among other problems. I specialize in supporting people in their relationships with others but also with themselves. My clinical work focuses on addressing emotional needs and how these are expressed outwardly but also implicitly, in ways that often go unnoticed. My therapeutic approach is influenced by both psychodynamic psychotherapy and emotionally-focused therapy, two experiential techniques in which I have begun training. I specialize in supporting people in their relationships with others, but also with themselves. Often, it is helpful to center emotional needs.
