e therapy is a journey to talk alongside you. Though I might be considered the "expert" in the areas in which you're looking for help, I also believe that you are the expert on you. I have a very collaborative and interpersonal style and though I use various empirically supported interventions to enhance with coping, the relationship between me and you is the most important thing. Change and growth are the goals of therapy. Change is a very subjective word, and it completely depends on where you are in your life when you come into therapy. I believe in working with the client together to form goals and a treatment plan, knowing that the plan will change along the way as the client experiences growth and change. Therapy is a proactive journey on the part of both client and therapist; sustainable and meaningful change stems from a combination of having a helpful guide, a sense of willingness, shared insight and working towards specific goals.
Imagine feeling supported through every stage of your journey, making sustainable changes that resonate through your life. I'm passionate about guiding clients through these transformations. When you connect deeply with your therapist, change becomes not just possible, but tangible. With me, therapy isn't just a session—it's a safe haven where your thoughts and behaviors are validated and gently challenged to foster positive growth. I offer individual and family therapy, addressing anxiety, depression, trauma and life adjustments. I believe in the power of mind-body connection to equip you with resilience and tools for growth. Therapy is a collaboration, and together we'll define your goals and chart the path to achieving them. My approach is trauma-informed, creating a space where your experiences are understood and respected. I draw from DBT, CBT, ACT, and person-centered therapy to tailor our sessions to your needs. Building our relationship means creating a space where you can be authentically yourself—where humor and warmth blend with non-judgmental support. Outside of therapy, I love walks, appreciate good cheese, and find joy in laughter. Let's embark on this journey together. I'm excited to meet you and start building something meaningful.
Our private practice is located near I-25 and Colorado Blvd. We utilize Play Therapy with children and teens in addition to working with adult individuals and families to create the empowerment to make choices that better fit the reality you envision for yourself. Hi! My clients appreciate that therapy with me is more than "just talking". We focus on real tools and skills that help issues with relationships, focusing, motivation, mood, and trauma. Hello! I'm a somatic (body-based) therapist, and I love working with people around relationships, sex, anxiety, stress, trauma and all those things can life throw at us.
I work with adults in helping them manage their Anxiety, Depression and stressful life situations. Balancing your professional and personal life can be difficult. My clients learn skills to self-regulate, problem solve and make well-informed decisions. My specialty is also working with adults with executive functioning issues including being on the Autism Spectrum. My clients are better equipped to make informed choices about what actions they need to take and develop skills that will help them handle difficult situations in the future. I use play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and neuroscience based interventions to help one express their thoughts and feelings.
The intake process typically spans about four sessions, during which the emphasis is on assessing the compatibility between you and me. This initial stage is crucial as we establish a foundation for our therapeutic alliance and become acquainted with each other. A central element of my practice involves being fully present during our sessions and attuned to nonverbal cues. I listen to not only what you are saying but how you are feeling in the moment. I encourage you to observe and share your experiences during our discussions, fostering a sense of being present 'in the room' together. The therapy session serves as a secure space where we can explore your beliefs about yourself, how you make sense of the world, and your ways of connecting with other people. It provides an opportunity for you to practice assertiveness, express your emotions and needs, and challenge any assumptions about my perceptions and interactions with you.
It is hard to look forward to your day when you feel stuck or burdened. With your energy reserves drained and coping strategies stretched thin, you may feel raw or wonder how to stay afloat. It doesn’t help when there’s plenty of advice suggesting “think positive” or simply “let it go.” Those words just add insult to injury. We offer support with trauma, anxiety & panic, LGBTQIA struggles, self-esteem, relationship challenges, depression or bipolar issues, as well as help through grief, loss, or transition. At Side By Side Counseling, you have someone in your corner with the expertise to help. Whether you need clarity and direction, or ways to heal the impacts of trauma, there is the support you need to make the progress you want. Together we will develop a plan so that every step is designed to bring relief, build resiliency, and renew your sense of hope.
You deserve to live a life that leaves you excited to wake up each day. Where you feel lighter, hopeful, empowered, and believe in your innate worth. Do you feel stuck in an endless cycle of perfectionism? Do you find you can’t get away from your own inner criticism, no matter what you do? But there’s a part of you that is a rebel, a cycle-breaker. It envisions a life filled with confidence, self-worth, and trusting healthy relationships. My goal is to help you bring this vision to life. I specialize in holistic treatment that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. I use my training in somatic Internal Family Systems and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing to address deeper patterns that leave you feeling stuck. I also use an attachment based approach to better understand your past and build a safe therapeutic relationship. Sometimes we face challenges that seem insurmountable, leaving us feeling stuck and hopeless. Therapy can provide the support necessary to overcome hardship and help us take steps toward happiness and fulfillment. As your therapist, I believe that you have the resiliency required to overcome life's toughest challenges. No one should have to trudge alone through trying times. I look forward to walking with you on your journey! I specialize in grief and loss counseling, but also help individuals cope with and manage depression, anxiety, mood swings, self-esteem, and relationship issues. I use a variety of creative trauma-informed techniques to tap into your innate strengths, develop solutions, and make moves toward the summit of well-being. My main clientele are teens and young adults, and I truly enjoy working with these populations! Along with traditional talk therapy I use art, play, visual journaling, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients get "unstuck" and feel in charge of their emotions and their lives.
I help stressed out and anxious people of any gender to heal trauma, make work suck less, and get good at relationships. I’m an Denver LGBT therapist providing EMDR therapy with a decade of experience. I’m terrible at pop culture and I love puns. My goal for my clients is to have a sustainable life where you can thrive. I want you to feel like you can navigate what life throws at you, even if it’s hard. I’m deeply invested in finding out what works for you (vs. anyone else). I’m less likely to promote something as “healthy” in therapy and more likely to ask you how it’s working for you. I won’t look at you sideways when you drop your partner’s pronouns or ask me to use a new name for you. We’ll curse, cry, and probably (hopefully) laugh. We’ll be human together.
Hello, my name is Blake. I’m passionate about connecting with individuals who are navigating complexities in life, particularly those who may be feeling overwhelmed or struggling in silence. In a world that often portrays an idealized version of success and happiness on social media, it’s crucial to acknowledge the realities many face behind the scenes. Sometimes, we feel lost inside our own bodies. Life can become a whirlwind, leaving us feeling like we’re falling behind or that certain aspects of our lives are lacking. I am committed to fostering a supportive, trauma-informed environment where these conversations can take place. I have found success in using several modalities in treatment such as CBT, DBT, and ACT to fully foster a connection to therapeutic success. I invite you to reach out and connect with me. Let’s navigate this journey together, one step at a time.
Hi! I’m Marissa, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in school counseling. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling, and I focus on learning ways in which people are best able to process traumas, build self-compassion, and practice coping skills for individuals to strengthen their abilities to handle everyday life, and its curveballs. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, overthinking, and relationship challenges. My approach is grounded, genuine, and centered around creating a space that actually feels human. I want clients to feel like they can come in exactly as they are — messy thoughts, uncertainty, humor, emotions and all — without feeling judged or pressured to “have it together.” I care deeply about building real, trusting connections and meeting people where they’re at, while helping them grow, heal, and feel more confident and at peace in their lives. Together we’ll explore your current challenges, goals, strengths, and what kind of support may feel most helpful for you. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or share everything right away. My goal is for you to leave feeling comfortable, understood, and hopeful about the process moving forward.
