I believe in the spirit of human potential, and finds purpose in working with others to create an environment for positive transformation, personal development, and healing. I would describe myself as a holistic practitioner finding inspiration from many different wisdom traditions. As a yoga & meditation teacher, my approach stems from Eastern philosophy, specifically Tibetan Buddhism.
My goal as a therapist is to create a supportive environment for folks to explore their gender and sexuality. Perhaps you identify as queer, bi, lesbian, gay, pan, ace, trans, nonbinary, agender, poly, kinky, something else, all of the above, or nothing at all. You deserve to have a space where you can learn more about your identity without judgment or pressure. As a queer person who has sought out therapy myself, I know how challenging it can be to find an affirming therapist. Even if your identity isn’t central to your therapy goals, I will always aim to honor and validate every part of who you are in our work. My therapeutic style is collaborative and anti-oppressive. My approach is integrative, using tools from a variety of therapeutic modalities—relational, CBT, narrative, sex therapy—that are best suited to each unique client. In addition to specializing in identity, I support clients experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and relationship issues. My aim is to co-create a space with you that facilitates growth, emotional awareness, and authentic self-expression. Please reach out if you have any questions about my work or about therapy more generally. I'm glad that you're seeking out the care you need right now, and I hope that we have the opportunity to connect more soon.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist outside of Denver, CO. Most of my clinical experience has been treating eating disorders and other co-occurring addictive behaviors. Life is hard. Like, really hard. And you're doing all the right things; but you still feel anxious. You can't seem to stop overthinking everything. You are feeling more and more insecure and are worried about feeling like a burden to others. You've tried to rationalize your thinking, but aren't getting anywhere. And now, that inner critic has become so loud and so present, that it's hard to hear or believe anything else. This is what I often hear from clients, and I get it - I've been there too. I understand what it's like to be labelled as "sensitive" and viewing emotions as a weakness. It's hard to figure out how to feel confident in who you are while living up to others' expectations. To feel constantly worried about "doing the right thing" and struggling with feeling "selfish" when you're trying to set boundaries. I help those who are excessively worried, struggling with low self-esteem, and experiencing relational distress gain confidence in being their authentic selves. I help my clients learn how to cope with their emotional experiences while practicing self-compassion. Emotions are not our enemy; in fact, emotions have a purpose. Utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness - I help clients learn how to use their emotions to connect with their inner selves and identify patterns and themes that wreak havoc in their lives. If you find yourself tired of feeling chronically defeated and are ready for change- it's time to start your journey of self-healing and growth.

Katie has working in the mental health field for over 10 years, supporting individuals, couples, children, and families as they navigate both everyday challenges and deeper healing work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and a Master’s degree from Boston University, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado. Alongside her graduate training, she completed a clinical fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Psychiatry, specializing in Child Development and Infant Mental Health. I love working with college students. You are at an exciting pivot point in your life. Adjusting to college is both exciting and daunting. You may be dealing with social, cultural and academic stress as you adjust to a new environment. You may begin to look at your childhood and teen years from a new perspective. You may be thinking about the life you want to design for yourself moving forward, and the impact you want to make in the world. I have worked with student athletes and others juggling the demands of college life. In Colorado Springs, I work with students from Colorado College, UCCS, and Pikes Peak State College. I am happy to work with students from UC Boulder and Colorado School of Mines via Telehealth. I believe everyone has the capacity to heal and thrive, and sort out what's distressing or confusing you, including academic stress, romantic relationships, family relationships, friendships, and your relationship with yourself. I offer ways to understand and manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity issues. I am client-centered and take a holistic biopsychosocial approach. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship, and I use evidence-based practices and the latest scientific research to help you achieve relief, clarity, and joy.

As a licensed psychologist, I provide therapy services across the lifespan. Viewing my role in clients' lives as a privilege, I approach my work with warmth, candor, and a genuine belief in one's potential for growth. A bit about my approach to therapy: Our difficulties often stem from longstanding patterns of relating to ourselves and others that are no longer serving us. Through greater awareness of these patterns and our internal emotional world, we are better able to cope and connect. I enjoy partnering with client's to explore both the past and present, with the hope of creating a better future. What you can expect from our first session: In our sessions, you can expect a welcoming and empathetic environment. We will start with an introductory session to determine fit. From there, we will dive into your story. I aim for our time to be collaborative, with us both taking active roles in the work. Schedule a session: https://corcoranpsych.sessionshealth.com/
