I aim to guide clients in discovering their patterns and getting off autopilot to begin living a life they choose! I am strongly connected with non-traditional lifestyles and work to cultivate a safe place for all people, most frequently working with clients in queer, non-monogamous, & kink relationships. Most of my clients are wanting to work on issues mostly unrelated to but within the context of these communities and lifestyles, and are tired of having to spend so much time explaining the context to therapists unfamiliar with their world. I also work with folks looking to explore these aspects of themselves for the first time. Growing up, my father's Navy career caused our family to move every 0.5-2.5 years. Since transition was my constant, I developed unique insight into the complex intersection and paradox of excitement, anxiety, fear, resistance, confidence, insecurity, love, and hate that can all be felt simultaneously during times of major change. This is why I love working with college students and helping them to navigate experiences such as: being away from home and re-configuring family relationships; exploring new friendships and romantic relationships; discovering their life path(s); learning a larger variety of ways to cope, communicate, and relate to themselves and the world; and diving more deeply into issues related to identity (e.g. sexuality, gender, higher consciousness, vocation, etc.). I tailor my approach with each of my clients, but primarily utilize mindfulness, experiential activities, and somatic techniques (i.e. deepening the relationship and communication between your mind and body).

Fundamentally, my aim is to support my clients in contacting their inner self-knowing, and "make friends" with all of the various parts of themselves in the warmth and security of this inner space. To achieve this, I practice person-centered therapy, with a strong emphasis on somatic awareness. When working with clients, I am listening for "what wants to be heard" that day. In my view, I am a supportive and curious observer, and my job is to reflect back to my client what I am seeing. My style tends to be more direct, and I regularly encourage my clients to take ownership over their treatment and to trust themselves. In a first session with me, we explore where you've been, where you are, and where you would like to go. Often, I invite people to tell me their story and then describe their current situation. We will work together to assess what feels like the most supportive areas of focus, and will create some goals which guide our future sessions. During this process, however, you can still expect curiousity, empowerment, and validation. What's most important in any session is establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.

If you’ve landed here you are probably seeking connection, and hope to find the right professional to support you. Something has gotten in the way, or you’ve lost your way to a life that is rich and meaningful. It may be about fractured relationship, debilitating emotional struggles, over-reliance on a substance, the grip of social media, the persistence of trauma, or elusive life balance. Or you may wish to deepen progress you’ve already made in making a life worth living. I offer the wisdom and skills that come from over 30 years working in mental health. My 20+ years as a licensed therapist have included direct work with people of all ages and in all combinations, often as I also served in leadership positions in residential programs. My primary approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), including ACT for Trauma. Depending on what is useful, I weave elements of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. The work I do is informed by Buddhist Psychology, and often includes guidance in the use of specific meditation techniques to bring clarity and growth. My own life has been enriched by my experience as a person in long-term recovery, my dedicated mindfulness/meditation practice, and my immersion in the outdoors wherever my travels take me.

A lot of us struggle to prioritize our wellness while balancing daily tasks, stressors, and especially during major life transitions such as college, career changes, relationship changes, mid-life crisis, retirement, and so on. Maybe you’re juggling college classes, being away from home and learning about this “adulting” thing. Or maybe you’re wondering how you became the adult & who let you be in charge?! If you’ve lost a sense of balance, if you live your life like everything is urgent, you are in the right place. If you’re not sure what you want or who you want to be but you feel a pressure to do it well (perhaps even perfectly!), I’m so glad you found me and I hope you’ll reach out!

What makes Restoration Psychology different? We know you have various options for treatment providers and therapy. Restoration Psychology is deeply committed to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive treatment for all people. We strive to help our clients restore mental well being and reduce psychological stress. We know that each individual and family has a unique set of needs and cultural values that can impact treatment. Our clinicians work hard to understand our clients from a bio-psycho-social- spiritual lens. We want to tailor each treatment approach to fit your needs. We are a full-service counseling center specializing in faith-based counseling through a unique bio-psycho-social-spiritual lens aimed at integrating the full self by renewing what has been damaged, revitalizing what has decayed, and rebuilding what has deteriorated. In order to do this, we must explore each aspect of the individual—their physical characteristics (race, ethnicity, health issues etc.), mental/emotional states, relationships with others (including family and community groups), and faith convictions. This allows us to take the first step of the journey toward restoration. Because spiritual belief influences one’s worldview, it also greatly influences the individual and is, therefore, an important aspect to be explored. We promise to work with you where you are, no matter your faith background. We will provide a safe space for you to confront any issues that arise in a judgment-free environment.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in trauma-informed care, crisis stabilization, and supportive interventions for individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges. Whether you’re facing a moment of crisis or working through the longer road of recovery, I am here to walk alongside you. My work is rooted in crisis response, de-escalation, and community-based behavioral health care. I believe that everyone deserves compassionate, accessible support during life's most difficult moments, and am committed to being a steady, grounded presence when you need it most. My goal is to help you find stability, safety, and a clear path toward ongoing care. When we work together, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel genuinely heard and supported. I draw on person-centered and strengths-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), to help you build insight, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. My style is collaborative and adaptive, meeting you where you are and tailoring care to your unique experiences, goals, and the pace that feels right for you. Above all, I am passionate about helping you access the support and stability you deserve. My path to becoming a therapist grew from a deep calling to support people through high-stress and vulnerable moments in their lives. That calling shaped not only the work I chose, but how I show up for it every day. Each experience along the way deepened my commitment to providing care that is both accessible and compassionate, particularly for those who need it most. In my practice now, I bring a grounded, empathetic presence to every session, and am honored to be a part of your journey toward healing. When I’m not working, I cherish time with the people who matter most to me, especially my daughter, family, and friends. I also enjoy getting outside, watching movies, and finding small, everyday moments to slow down and recharge. These moments of connection and rest are what keep me present and energized for the work I love.

Whether you're navigating trauma, managing anxiety or depression, struggling with big emotions, or working through relationship concerns, you don't have to face it alone. As a Social Work Candidate (SWC) with nine years of experience, I specialize in trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns for children, adolescents, adults, and families. Many of the patients I work with come in feeling overwhelmed, struggling to manage intense emotions or unsure how to cope with life's stressors. Together, we work to build practical skills, deepen self-understanding, and create a greater sense of stability and confidence in your everyday life. Reaching out for help takes courage, and I want you to feel supported from the very first session. My approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and genuine understanding, so you can count on a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and never judged. I walk alongside you as a collaborative partner, helping you build confidence, develop meaningful coping skills, and create lasting, positive change. Therapy looks different for everyone, and that's exactly how it should be. My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and tailored to meet your unique needs and goals at every stage of the journey. For younger patients, I incorporate play therapy as a natural and effective way to help children express themselves and process their experiences. For adolescents and adults, we'll work together using trauma-informed care and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to build emotional regulation skills, process difficult experiences, and improve your overall well-being. What you can always expect is a supportive environment where you feel safe to be yourself. My style is flexible, and I genuinely care about helping you better understand yourself and develop the tools to feel more in control of your emotions and your life. My path to becoming a therapist began with a deep curiosity about how people experience and cope with difficult emotions and life's challenges. That curiosity grew into a calling, a commitment to offering compassionate, trauma-informed care that truly meets each patient where they are. Every session, I bring a warm, patient, and supportive presence, creating space for you to express yourself openly, build meaningful insight, and develop the skills you need to grow. It's work I find deeply rewarding as I help guide you toward healing and a more balanced life. Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy staying active through exercise, which helps me maintain balance and well-being. I’m passionate about volunteering with animals, including involvement in equine-assisted therapy settings, where I’ve seen firsthand the powerful connection between humans and animals. These activities help me stay grounded, present, and connected – values I bring into my work with clients.

Hi there! My name is Mark (he/him). I am a licensed therapist in Colorado & Ohio. My favorite population to work with is college students — it's an exciting age of discovering your self and the world around you, but it can also be a season of hardship, disappointment, and overwhelm. My undergrad days were some of the most formative of my life, but I also know firsthand how difficult & lonely it can be to juggle the expectations of academics, relationships, finances, and more — not to mention your own developing identity and values. I am here to help those who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or burnt out. I have extensive experience helping young adults in the U.S. and Europe navigate these crossroads. My background in emotionally focused therapy and neurofeedback can help you safely & effectively lean into the discomfort you are currently facing (you need to feel it to heal it!) and develop the courage to continue forward towards the path you desire. You have the answers within you; sometimes we just need some encouragement and direction. Interested in working together? Let's get in touch! I happily offer a free 15-minute phone consult. It would be an honor to walk alongside you during your college journey.

We all face challenges, stressors, traumas, losses, and changes in life. Especially as women. Especially now. We are supposed to have it all, do it all, be it all. For everyone. All the time. Like yesterday. At Discover Peace Within, we recognize that as a human being, you have access to a reservoir of strength, resiliency, and peace within you. Yet, right now, you feel so far away from that sense of peace. Your childhood trauma keeps repeating itself in your relationships. Your low self-esteem makes you say “yes” when you mean “no.” You’re constantly worried if you belong. You lay awake at night wondering if you said the right thing? Did the right thing? You’re fearful of being “too much” while also feeling “not enough.” Life is happening so fast - you feel that you can’t keep up. You want to feel closer to yourself. Your true self. Not the self that you present to the world. Or to your boss and co-workers. Or even friends or family. You know what living in your true self feels like. You’ve had glimpses of it before. When your body-mind-spirit all clicked into place. You know she’s still there. She’s underneath all of the trauma from childhood. Or the messages from others about what you SHOULD be. What society makes you believe you HAVE to do. You’re blocked from making choices that YOU want to make. You’re held back from going for that job, putting yourself out there with friends, or resting when you need to. You struggle seeing the good in you. And yet, there is a voice within you, reminding you of your true self. Therapy can be a helpful place to get back to you. To get back to your true self. Working with a therapist at Discover Peace Within can offer you a sacred space - a time dedicated solely to you and your needs. A time for you to heal. Take a chance on you to discover peace within and book an appointment now.

Hello, I'm Elissa. Life can be challenging, and managing relationships can sometimes feel overwhelming. But you don't have to face these difficulties alone. Feelings of loneliness, loss of purpose, distance from loved ones, and grief over lost loved ones or unfulfilled dreams are common experiences. In children, behaviors often signal underlying struggles they are facing. I utilize a client-centered, solution-focused approach, incorporating techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. For children, I also employ play therapy, which has proven effective in addressing their unique needs. These methods help you develop new tools for your 'Life Tool Box,' empowering you to navigate life's challenges more effectively. I hold a Master's degree (MA) and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. My areas of specialization include family relationships, children's mental and behavioral health, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, and trauma. With my experience and expertise, I aim to create a supportive and understanding environment where you can feel heard and validated. Welcome To Our Group Practice A message from the Founder and Clinical Director: I want you to know how excited I am to meet you. I light up when I think about ways I can support you and be a part of ushering human beings into a new world. I feel hopeful when I see the work of Brene Brown, HeatherAsh Amara, Tara Brach and many others like them who are doing work on a large scale to help us move out of the old paradigm of living from the head- comparison, acquisition, power at all costs, being the smartest person in the room, and fierce independence. We are evolving into heart-centered living- which is practicing empathy, compassion, acceptance, cooperation, openness, interdependence and curiosity. This is how I want to live, do you? I believe it is possible and heart-centered living starts with healing past wounds and freeing up our energy to take responsibility for our lives. I was a kid who had a lot of energy. I loved doing cartwheels in the grass, voraciously reading every single one of the books in the Babysitters Club series and climbing the weeping willow trees that grew near my house. I've always loved exploring, learning, and moving my body. Now, I use that energy to climb rock walls, hike mountains, and enthusiastically lead therapists in our thriving private practice while facilitating a kick-ass women's empowerment program. I get energized when I feel into how much healing we get to do together. I have discovered my gifts of curiosity, intuition, and a natural tendency to care about and hold compassionate space for others. I channel this into my work with individual clients, workshops that I facilitate, and the mentorship and training that I offer to the therapists who work with me at Insight. I want you to feel excitement about your life and journey towards bringing your gifts forth. We can help you discover who you are under the layers of self-protection, survival mode, and numbing the overwhelm. The first steps toward this is saying yes to yourself, beginning your healing, and trusting the process. Our group practice offers so many avenues for growth. We have specialties in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, group work and workshops, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Existential Therapy, and more. Explore our website to see what speaks to you and reach out to our Client Care Coordinator. She can determine who and what will be the best fit for your goals. If you feel a YES rising in you, if you want to live more from your HEART and SOUL- then give us a call and schedule your first appointment or join our next workshop. You are worth it. You matter. Take the leap! With Love, Respect, and Hope, Bethany

Over the last 25 years I have worked with clients who are seeking, peace, healing and develop insight and self-awareness. In my work with clients, there are several treatment modalities utilized, primarily CBT, Somatic Therapy, Whole Person and art therapy. One of my primary focuses with my clients is to create and/or improve their self-care plan since it is instrumental in managing daily stressors and mental health concerns. Self-care is important for me to also have in place and my self-care plan includes photography, being an avid football fan (and most sports), time with my friends and family
