Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
As a queer therapist, I believe there is no one “right way” to live our lives. This is the same for therapy, there is no “right way.” I believe we all have the power to harness our strengths and find the path that gives us the most meaning and purpose. Clients are the experts in their own lives – each person has the tools and skills to solve their problems, though sometimes may need some outside help to find those tools and learn those skills. Together we can create a therapeutic alliance that is conducive towards self-discovery, growth, and fulfilling your potential while honoring your history, resiliency, values, and beliefs. I completed my Masters in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. I am working towards being a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, gender diverse, the consensual non-monogamy (CNM) community, and I am kink/BDSM-affirming.
Authenticity is central to my work—I show up as my full self so you can feel safe doing the same. As a queer and neurodivergent therapist, I’m passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ and late-identified neurodivergent individuals in unmasking, exploring identity, and building lives that feel genuine and sustainable. My approach is eclectic and inclusive, drawing from multiple modalities to create care that fits you. I integrate Geek Therapy and continually work to decolonize my practice. I’m sex-positive, kink-aware, and affirming of LGBTQ+ and ENM identities. Let’s work together to help you feel more fully, authentically you.
Working with me, you can expect a therapist that provides empathy and understanding of your experience and perspective while using structured interventions to help you feel better. I follow a model of therapy called TEAM-CBT pioneered by David Burns, MD. My approach to therapy includes self-help assignments for you to practice between sessions to help you resolve the problems you face now and leave you with tools you can use to address future challenges. I also incorporate elements of mindfulness practice, motivational interviewing and positive psychology in my work with clients. I work with adults (18+) and assist with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, work-related stress, substance use and more.

At Kintsugi Systems Counseling, we offer a unique and compassionate approach to healing, drawing on the wisdom of Kintsugi, IFS, and Stoicism. Our skilled counselors will walk alongside you, helping you understand and harmonize the different parts of yourself, navigate life's difficulties with greater ease, and discover the gold within your own unique story. My Background and Approach My approach to mental health is holistic and integrative, drawing upon a multi-dimensional understanding of the mind-body connection. I recognize that trauma and past experiences are deeply embedded in both our physical and emotional selves; the body, indeed, "keeps the score." Therefore, my therapeutic work focuses on fostering a harmonious relationship between mind and body, equipping you with the tools to cultivate self-awareness and manage internal dialogue effectively. This process involves not only addressing past hurts but also embracing your unique strengths and vulnerabilities, fostering radical self-acceptance as a cornerstone of healing and personal growth. Finally, I believe in the power of self-compassion and nurturing, helping you develop the capacity for self-care and meet your needs with greater understanding and empathy. My goal is to empower you to shed limiting patterns, embrace your authentic self, and live a more vibrant and fulfilling life.
Drawing from 10+ years of clinical experience, I use a solution-focused approach to teach skills to overcome worry, depression, anger, stress, guilt, low self-esteem, sleep issues, relationship struggles, and parenting challenges. My clients and I work on improving their wellness and their lives by exploring helpful solutions, perspectives, and habits.
I can help you manage uneasy emotions by providing a safe, confidential space to explore your feelings without being judged. You will be given tools to manage your anxiety and depressive symptoms that can transform the way you move forward in life.

Are you feeling like something isn't quite right with you? Do you feel overwhelmed with daily life, while it seems like everyone else is doing just fine? College and early adulthood can be a mix of excitement, stress, and uncertainty. You’re making big choices about your future, managing relationships, navigating independence, and trying to stay mentally clear and emotionally balanced. Therapy can help you make sense of all of it—and give you the tools to move forward with clarity and confidence. I’m a licensed therapist in Colorado with over 30 years of experience working with young adults. I help people who feel overwhelmed, stressed, stuck, or unsure of who they are or where they’re headed. I also support clients in breaking free from unhealthy or addictive patterns—whether that’s substances, social media, gaming, or other habits that have started to take over. My approach is real, down-to-earth, and supportive. I’ll help you understand what’s going on emotionally, mentally, physically, and in your relationships—and together we’ll work on practical strategies for change. Some sessions will be about insight and reflection, others will focus on action and new tools. You set the pace, and I help you get where you want to go. If you’re in this stage of life and want support that meets you where you are, I’d be honored to work with you.
We all hold the inner knowledge of what is best for our lives but sometimes need a gentle guide to help us find our path. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic space where you will feel comfortable expressing difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences, whether that be through traditional talk therapy, EMDR, psychedelic assisted therapy, or ketamine assisted EMDR. Trauma is not always what happened to you but sometimes what did not happen, such as physical or emotional neglect.
I aim to guide clients in discovering their patterns and getting off autopilot to begin living a life they choose! I am strongly connected with non-traditional lifestyles and work to cultivate a safe place for all people, most frequently working with clients in queer, non-monogamous, & kink relationships. Most of my clients are wanting to work on issues mostly unrelated to but within the context of these communities and lifestyles, and are tired of having to spend so much time explaining the context to therapists unfamiliar with their world. I also work with folks looking to explore these aspects of themselves for the first time. Growing up, my father's Navy career caused our family to move every 0.5-2.5 years. Since transition was my constant, I developed unique insight into the complex intersection and paradox of excitement, anxiety, fear, resistance, confidence, insecurity, love, and hate that can all be felt simultaneously during times of major change. This is why I love working with college students and helping them to navigate experiences such as: being away from home and re-configuring family relationships; exploring new friendships and romantic relationships; discovering their life path(s); learning a larger variety of ways to cope, communicate, and relate to themselves and the world; and diving more deeply into issues related to identity (e.g. sexuality, gender, higher consciousness, vocation, etc.). I tailor my approach with each of my clients, but primarily utilize mindfulness, experiential activities, and somatic techniques (i.e. deepening the relationship and communication between your mind and body).
About me I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my 3 siblings by a single mom and my great x2 uncle who was a former teacher and retired military. They made sure we understood the importance of education, resiliency, discipline and determination. My upbringing and community taught me the importance of needing to have people around who care and nurture different aspects of people. My Approach I look at people as being multifaceted and are influenced by many in their journey. I'm a firm believer that you can decide to change who you are and become who you want to be whenever you decide to. Being willing and open to challenge your own thoughts and behaviors no matter who you are or your age. My approach is transformative through inner work and behavior change.
In my work with clients, I focus on collaboratively identifying goals, needs, and challenges to address during our sessions. My aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can comfortably explore issues like relationship struggles, mental health concerns, or life transitions. I specialize in depression, anxiety, LGBTQ+ issues, and relationships using evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care. I believe everyone has the potential for growth and healing, and I’m dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences as we work toward your goals. I chose to pursue a career in mental health because I am passionate about helping others find balance and well-being in their lives. My client-centered and collaborative approach focuses on your unique needs and strengths. Together, we can work towards creating meaningful change and improving your quality of life.
