Therapists for college students near University of Texas at Austin
Hi, I'm Michelle Gorden, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s degree in Forensic Psychology, and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am currently training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Gottman Method for couples. I specialize in treating mood disorders, trauma, and PTSD. My background is diverse and supports my ability to help my clients reach their highest potential. I have worked in criminal justice, crisis stabilization, case management, and residential treatment. I am skilled in facilitating psycho-educational groups and providing intensive outpatient therapy. I strive to work collaboratively with each client in a non-judgmental space to improve overall happiness and well-being. Counseling can help you with many stressors in life such as anxiety, depression, grief, eating disorders, family conflict, and self-exploration. Counseling provides a safe place to take risks, be vulnerable, gain support, and become empowered to change your life. I have a laid-back style and focus on creating a safe space. My approach is pretty eclectic and my philosophy is that therapy can’t be one-size-fits-all. Treatments should be customized to each individual client, couple, or family. If you are ready to start your journey, please fill out our intake form and request to work with me.
My passion is in working with women struggling with relationships and balancing family and other priorities. I use a respectful, direct and collaborative approach in my sessions and believe that interpersonal relationships are a key factor in successfully navigating life. Transitions and challenges can offer us an opportunity to find greater understanding of purpose, more meaningful relationships, and increased confidence and personal gratification. I understand how difficult the process of counseling can be, but I also know the rewards that come from true healing. I am a Christian Counselor who brings extensive expertise in working with women struggling with issues such as marriage struggles, singleness, divorce, anxiety, codependency, communication, infertility/adoption/new moms. I also specialize in helping to navigate struggles with having a child with a diagnosis of Autism and I am a certified PEERS group leader. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Supervisor in the State of Texas and have been practicing for 19 years. I received my master's degree in counseling from Dallas Baptist University and also completed a master's degree (ThM) from Dallas Theological Seminary. I'm also certified to use "Prepare and Enrich" for pre-marital and marriage counseling.
I am a Licensed Therapist in private practice, providing individual and couples therapy across Texas through secure telehealth. My specialties include helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, anger, infidelity, trauma, and relationship challenges. I also work with couples to improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen emotional intimacy using research-based methods such as the Gottman Method. While faith is not a requirement for therapy, I welcome clients who would like their Christian values to be integrated into the counseling process. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on equipping clients with practical tools to create lasting change in their personal and relational lives.
Since 2006, I have worked as a counselor in Louisiana (LPC 3780), Kansas (LCPC 2416), Virginia (LPC 0701008990), and Texas (LPC 86508). Currently, I work with adults who feel stuck whether navigating anxiety, depression, CPTSD, trauma, family challenges, identity, or major transitions. They want relief, self-understanding, hope, and healthier ways to cope. Most of all, they want to feel heard, supported, and capable of moving forward with confidence. I specialize in working with diverse clients, including military families, trauma survivors, those managing both mental health, and substance use. My humanistic, collaborative style helps you uncover strengths, build resilience, and develop practical tools. Together, we’ll create space for healing and real change. I know reaching out takes courage and you don’t have to do it alone. In our work, we’ll honor your unique experiences and create a safe space to explore challenges at your pace. If you’re ready to take that next step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in your journey toward growth.
My name is Bintou Schoen and I am a board certified general adult psychiatrist. I have worked with various populations and have a diverse background working with people with trauma, crisis, depression, anxiety, psychosis, social anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, grief and loss, relationship problems, etc. I received my undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Georgia. I then attended the Medical College of Georgia where I obtained my medical degree. After that, I received my psychiatric training at the University of South Florida in Tampa Florida. I perform psychiatric evaluations and formulate treatment plans with input from my patients - no single approach is right for every individual. I very much like a positive and practical approach to mental health treatment including medication management and therapy. I think it is important to find balance in your life and it starts with improving self-esteem and good self care. I like a person centered approach meaning finding solutions that work for you based on your values and priorities.

I'll explain how the therapeutic process works, answer any questions you may have, and work with you to identify goals that feel realistic and meaningful. It's important that you feel supported and understood, and that our work together feels like a good fit. Reach out to begin working on any obstacles that life brings.
I am a proud first gen, Salvadoran American and daughter of immigrants. My goal as a therapist is to assist clients to build a more fulfilling life by fostering an understanding of themselves and the complexity of our human emotion. I understand that it can be intimidating to seek support through life's unexpected challenges. I believe that creating an environment of unconditional support, trust, and understanding is crucial to the therapeutic relationship As a former hospital social worker, my unique experience lends special insight into the needs of individuals experiencing chronic illness and loss. My current and past work experience provides me with skills and knowledge to journey with our clients. I obtained my Bachelor's in Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Human Development and Family Sciences as well as my Masters in Social Work from the University of Houston. I am also fluent in Spanish. I draw from these important educational and work experiences to work with clients who are facing life transition issues, conflict in relationships, and psychosocial adjustment to health issues. My approach is rooted in compassion, mutual respect toward each client, and mindfulness of the dignity of each human person. Everyone's needs and experiences are different. I will work with our clients to find a therapy style works best for that individual.
Yes, I'm just as funny as Melissa McCarthy! Going through a big change or feeling unsure about what’s next? I support young adults and people in transition—whether you’re starting something new, ending something old, or feeling stuck in between. I also work with clients of all ages and bring a warm, down-to-earth approach grounded in practical tools like CBT and solution-focused therapy. I’ve lived a lot of life—raised a family, worked in real estate and corporate settings—and I bring that perspective into the work we do together.
Do you struggle with neurodivergence? Are you struggling to navigate life's challenges alone? Feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn next? Feeling lost, unsure of who you are? Are you struggling with dealing with your emotions? To deal with anger? You are not alone. Let me help guide you to become a better version of yourself.
Hi, I’m Regina (she/her), a queer, neurodivergent therapist who believes healing happens in spaces where you’re truly seen and affirmed. I bring compassion, curiosity, and a healthy dose of irreverence into the therapy room, and I deeply value the trust it takes to show up authentically—especially when the world hasn’t always made space for who you are. I primarily work with women and nonbinary adults—especially those who are late-diagnosed neurodivergent, part of the LGBTQ+ community, or navigating non-traditional relationships (like ENM or kink). If you're untangling trauma, questioning your place in a society that often feels hostile or broken, or working to rebuild self-worth in a neurotypical, cis-hetero world—you’re in the right place. My approach is eclectic and collaborative. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to meet your unique needs, rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all mold. This work isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about reconnecting with your values, making meaning, and feeling more at home in your own mind and body. If you’re looking for a therapist who affirms your identity, respects your complexity, and understands what it means to feel like an outsider—I’d be honored to walk with you. Schedule a free consultation so we can chat about whether I’d be a good fit.
Are you a queer, BIPOC, or neurodivergent person struggling with relentless self-criticism? It might feel like you can’t stop beating yourself up and feeling like you’re not good enough, no matter how hard you try. This self-doubt can be reinforced by others treating you differently and the systemic oppression which is present in so many aspects of our world today. If you’re ready to escape from a shame spiral, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome! My name is Sajl, and I’m a nonbinary and South Asian therapist based in Frisco, TX. I work with motivated and insightful teens and adults via telehealth to liberate themselves from self-hatred. My goal is to provide you with an affirming, compassionate, and honest therapeutic space in which you are free to explore and understand where these beliefs stem from. Together, we’ll get to the root cause of your pain and help you develop a kinder and gentler inner voice. As a young queer person of color, I know what it’s like to be unsure of whether aspects of my identity will be accepted in new spaces. Rest assured, every aspect of what makes you who you are is invited when we share space together. My therapeutic approach is culturally sensitive, identity-affirming, and liberation-centered. I incorporate aspects of acceptance and commitment therapy, relational cultural therapy, and attachment theory to help you understand and face your pain with courage and compassion. If you’re ready to release the burden of the pain you’ve been carrying, I would be honored to lighten your load and walk alongside you in the path towards healing.

I am so glad you stopped by! I am eager to work with college students, like yourself, and have a background in working with both undergrad and grad students in the Dallas area. In therapy, I offer a safe and confidential relationship, where you can hope to gain self-esteem, relevant skills, and personal strength, learning to more fully trust yourself and others. A great deal of my clients are wrestling with depression, anxiety, and self-worth due to family/childhood issues and relational struggles that tend to become more apparent once they have entered college. Together, we dig into these hard conversations and I help you relate differently to anxiety, pain, fear, and sadness, while also coming alongside you in creating the life you desire. Finding a therapist you connect with is an important aspect of effective therapy. I will serve you with respect and empathy while encouraging you in your personal journey of growth.
