Change can be hard, but I'm here to support you. My clients are often in transition, whether they're adapting to a new school or city, experiencing a change in relationships, coping with loss, managing a new health condition, coming out, or simply reflecting on their goals in a new light. If that resonates with you, I want to help you flourish. Depression, anxiety, impulse control issues, and traumatic stress make it harder to navigate change. I have experience serving clients who are working to overcome these mental health challenges. In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you to counseling, your strengths, the things you value, and where you want your life to go. I aim for you to leave feeling hopeful. My style is genuine and straightforward - I want therapy to take the weight off your shoulders. Please give me a call or send me an email if you'd like to get started!

If you are feeling depressed, anxious, alone or confused, I get it. I am a neurodivergent therapist who has worked hard to learn how to successfully manage serious mental illness symptoms. I understand the struggle. My patients say they feel comfortable confiding in me because of my warmth and personality. It’s just the joy I feel working with people that is coming through. I look forward to meeting you. I take some insurance and sliding fee scale

I believe we all have the potential to live a life that brings us joy and satisfaction. I believe we all have an inner strength that allows us to change and grow, no matter how adverse the circumstances that brought us here. A therapeutic relationship based on trust, honesty, and non-judgment can bring that strength to its rightful place in our lives. I take a holistic and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I recognize that there are generational, environmental, social, political, and cultural factors that impact our day-to-day lives and decisions and believe it's important to consider these factors when learning about my clients and their experiences. When we begin to understand ourselves and our ways of thinking and acting as a part of a larger whole, we can begin to improve the quality of our lives and our relationships, especially our relationship to the self. I help clients create real change through cultivating insight around their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the context of their life, relationships, and the world around them. I also help clients develop healthier, more effective coping skills. Together, we'll work to deepen your self awareness and build on what is good, strong, and true about yourself.

Due to recent circumstances, Reset Outdoors is currently only offering phone or video chat sessions. We hope to be able to offer in-person sessions again soon. Reset Outdoors offers both a traditional session format, as well as nontraditional outdoor sessions geared towards creating a therapeutic experience in the great outdoors. By creating a supportive, nonjudgmental, and empathetic atmosphere, I help my clients to feel safe in exploring their struggles, fears, hopes, and strengths. I specialize in issues related to gender, sexuality, anxiety, depression, and trauma. For individuals pursing medical transition, I offer single-session evaluations for HRT and surgery referrals. I believe strongly in tailoring my approach to each of my clients' individual needs and therefore utilize a number of therapeutic techniques in my treatment approach. In our outdoor session format, we combine the inherent benefits of responsive listening, low-impact physical exercise, and the great outdoors. It is my belief that each individual already possesses exactly what they need to achieve healing, therefore I will do my best to support you in your efforts to uncover your own power, resilience, and sense of peace. I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania, and I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology. Student who benefit most from therapy with me are interested in learning more about themselves--their close relationships, their goals (even if they feel uncertain or lacking), and their sense of self. Perhaps you are feeling depressed, anxious, or you're currently in substantial distress due to important changes or stressors in your life. Perhaps life is going well enough, but you simply feel empty, lack meaning, or you want more out of life. Adjusting to college can be challenging, whether it be (a) moving away from home, making friends, and adjusting to academics during your first year, (b) attempting to develop or maintain a social life, or "catching up" during the "Sophomore Slump", (c) choosing an academic major, or (d) completing a Sr thesis or figuring out what you want to do after graduation. These are all common reasons that bring students into counseling with me. Exploring one's developing or conflicted sense of racial, sexual, or gender identity are other common reasons students seek psychotherapy. I strive to create a therapeutic atmosphere that is safe, nonjudgmental, and nurturing.

I believe that a strong therapeutic rapport is the heart of meaningful growth in therapy. When we feel truly seen, heard, and understood, we are better able to explore our experiences, reflect on our patterns, and take steps toward change. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and comfortable to be themselves, no matter what challenges they may be facing. My approach to therapy is person-centered, which means I value each client’s unique perspective and believe that you are the expert of your own life. I work alongside my clients, offering support, guidance, and encouragement as we navigate the journey together. I strive to meet people where they are, honoring their pace while helping them uncover new insights and tools for growth. I hold a Master’s degree in Art Therapy with a Specialization in Counseling and am a Registered Art Therapist. Creativity can be a powerful way to explore feelings and experiences that are difficult to put into words. In sessions, I often incorporate art and the creative process to help clients process emotions, gain clarity, and express themselves in new ways. Whether through drawing, painting, collage, or other forms of artmaking, this approach allows for deeper self-understanding and healing beyond traditional talk therapy. I also bring personal experience to my work, having navigated the loss of my father at a young age. Experiencing grief firsthand has given me a deep understanding of the complexities of loss. This experience informs my approach to grief therapy, allowing me to connect with clients in a compassionate and authentic way. In addition to my art therapy work, I am currently pursuing my Animal-Assisted Therapy Certificate. I am excited to soon integrate my therapy dog-in-training, Bear, into sessions as a comforting and supportive presence. Animals can offer a unique kind of connection and grounding that supports emotional regulation and overall well-being. I have experience working with children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings, including partial hospitalization, inpatient, residential treatment, and outpatient therapy. My specialties include supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and significant life transitions. I am especially passionate about working with clients during times of change—whether it’s starting a new school, transitioning to college, beginning a new career, or navigating changes in relationships or identity. No matter your reason for seeking therapy, my hope is to create an environment where you feel safe to explore your inner world, discover your strengths, and find meaningful ways to move forward.

I believe that clients are experts in themselves, and the counseling process serves as a vehicle for exploration, understanding, and change. Adversity and negative past experiences are part of all of our stories, but they do not define us. Counseling gives a space to reflect into the past providing an understanding of the influence these experiences have on our lives today. Using clients' insights, strengths and resilience I support and help our clients become the people they wish to be. My favorite part of supporting client's is supporting them in self-discovery and strengthening their sense of self. I strongly believe in providing high quality services to all individuals and affirming the dignity, worth and value of all. My approach as a therapist is a person-centered approach and strength based. I am also trained in CBT and integrate different interventions to meet client needs. I strive to create an open safe space for individuals to be their authentic-self and receive acceptance, kindness, and support. My goal for you is to give you the space you deserve to show the most authentic version of yourself feeling supported and empowered. The therapeutic alliance I believe is a collaborative one because you are the only expert of you. Client's work collaboratively with me to create the goals we will work towards. By the end of treatment, I want clients to have a strengthened sense of self as well as resilience, tools and techniques. I am a recent graduate from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine earning my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. I am the proud owner of Project Rise Counseling & Advocacy. I am a pre-licensed professional which means I am supervised by a licensed professional Alisa Trout. I am more than happy to answer any questions about how that works (: I strongly believe that all individuals should have access to mental health support thus I offer sliding scale services to overcome financial barriers. Whether you are looking for extra support throughout your academic journey, during a challenging situation, or you simply want to change directions in your life, I look forward to establishing a collaborative empowering relationship. I offer daytime, evening and weekend sessions!

You are dealing with the impact of your past experiences, all while trying to keep it together and manage the stress of daily life. Although you want to heal so badly, you feel like you can never quite find a therapist that you can show your true, authentic self to.
