Struggling from anxiety and/or depression? Having a hard time managing relationships? Can't get past things that have happened in your life? Want to work on problems with family members, partner or children? I know how to help! My approach to therapy begins with establishing the therapeutic relationship because I strongly believe it is the foundation to making change in your life. From there, I will integrate person-centered, trauma-informed, and skills-based approaches to help you achieve your goals. I am also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) to help you heal from difficult experiences in order to reduce symptoms, triggers, and stressors. I have experience working with adults, children, couples, and families and bring a eclectic presence to the therapy room to meet the needs of all my clients.

Through over 20 years of practice I have found that people usually seek therapy because they are experiencing something that is too difficult to bear without additional help and support. Life can seem unjust when bad things happen to good people, or when best efforts are not leading to desired outcomes. These challenges are opportunities for renewal and growth. Especially during a time of crisis or transition, the ability to safely connect and openly share thoughts and feelings, while receiving genuine emotional support, clarifying insights, and effective tools for coping can be truly life changing. This is the gift of therapy. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders (such as OCD, tic disorders, hair pulling, skin picking and hoarding). I use evidence-based treatment models (ERP, HRT, CBT and EMDR). Research tells us that the therapeutic relationship is a critical factor in determining outcomes, so finding a therapist who is right for you is key. Call for a free 15 minute phone consultation so that you can interview me and decide if I'm a good fit.

Many of my clients feel pressure to have everything figured out while quietly battling self-doubt, burnout, or overwhelming emotions. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can develop practical tools, gain insight, and feel more confident navigating life's challenges. Together, we'll work toward helping you feel more balanced, connected, and empowered, while having a little fun along the way!
Hi there! I am Dr. Stacy Vance. I am a licensed psychologist who provides virtual counseling and sport psychology services to students and athletes across the US. I have a passion for supporting young adults as they navigate the beauty and challenges of college life. Whether you are looking for help with managing stress/anxiety, identity development, relationships concerns or interested in improving performance or enhancing your mental well-being, I am here to support you on your journey. At the heart of my practice lies a deep appreciation for the lived experiences of others. Gaining awareness into internal experiences and the patterns that keep one stuck facilitates insight, growth, and change. Using empathy, humor, collaboration, and curiosity I aim to support your goals while tailoring the therapeutic "process" to your needs. When you are ready, feel free to reach out. I would welcome the opportunity to chat!

Reach out if you have experienced a loss or difficult transition if you are struggling to set boundaries or express your needs, if you are struggling with difficult emotions or if you just aren’t feeling like yourself. It is our goal to support you in exploring your experiences, releasing things that you may have been carrying, setting goals you want to achieve, and identifying patterns and beliefs that are creating barriers. Our role as therapists is to provide a safe, judgment-free, and confidential space for you to process vulnerable thoughts and emotions. Our approach is person-centered and focuses on building a supportive relationship while using cognitive behavioral theory as a framework. We specialize in trauma therapy and work with individuals experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. Some of the modalities used include EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. Let us help you to know and be present with yourself.
I specialize in providing individual therapy to adults experiencing OCD and/or eating disorders. I can also provide support for other mental health issues, including: depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, trauma, mood disorders, and substance misuse. I also help clients navigate life's common problems, including relationship issues, work stress, identity development, and grief. I periodically offer support groups for OCD and eating disorders. I will be seeing clients in person in Pittsburgh starting in August 2023. I can see clients in Massachusetts via telehealth but I am not accepting any telehealth clients at this time.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing diagnostic assessment and evidence based psychotherapy for the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. I have diagnosed and treated a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders in inpatient, emergency, outpatient, and telehealth settings. I also have specialized training in treating adolescents and young adults with co-occurring physical and mental health conditions. I use a collaborative approach to create an individualized treatment plan that capitalizes on existing strengths and aligns with patients' short- and long-term goals for treatment. I obtained my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Case Western Reserve University, followed by a clinical internship at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. My postdoctoral research training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine focuses on promoting well-being during life transitions among individuals and families experiencing chronic stress. To learn more about the services that I offer and my approach to assessment and treatment, please call or text me (412-334-9214) to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation.

Each of us lives our story in chapters—some filled with joy, others with hardship, and many with the quiet in-betweens. As a therapist, I see my role as walking alongside people as they turn the page, helping them make meaning of the past while creating space for new beginnings. I believe we all hold the keys within us: keys to resilience, healing, growth, and self-understanding. I utilize a strength-based approach to treatment as well as incorporate various styles that suit your needs. My practice is grounded in creating a safe and supportive environment to create a healthier future while honoring the past.
I see plenty of college students, including those who are taking a semester or two off as they figure out what to do next. I have two main areas of specialization: ADHD and sex therapy. I have written four books on ADHD and am a certified sex therapist. I tend to keep things practical and focus on what is going on in my clients' daily lives and how to help them get to where they want to be (which may begin with figuring out where that is anyway).
After 13 years of practice in a community organization, I started my private practice here, 7 years ago in West Chester. I believe in a holistic treatment of body, mind and emotional well being. My mantra is Talk. Change. Thrive. Talking about the different issues with a professional that can give different perspectives and ideas with clinical support, leads to Change. Changing those thought patterns leads to healthier behaviors and actions, which moves us to Thrive. Thriving in life and ways of thinking, so that one can become the person one is intended to be, before all the muck in life that affects one’s well being.
Do you experience hypervigilance? panic? overwhelm? avoidance? unexplained physical symptoms? Many of my clients didn't realize that their symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and relationship struggles stem from trauma. Trauma isn't just something soldiers experience — it encompasses so many different life experiences. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to get at the root of your symptoms, rather than putting a bandaid on them for a temporary fix. I'm trained in EMDR 2.0 and the Four Blinks Flash technique, and I use advanced EMDR software to work effectively with clients online. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for clients ready to go deeper when talk therapy has reached its limits, along with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and ADHD-informed therapy. I've worked extensively with people in the LGBTQ+ community. If you're interested in working together, reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation — we can decide if we're a good fit. You are making an amazing and brave step in your healing journey!
