Therapists for college students near Portland State University
The college years can be some of the most overwhelming — academic pressure, perfectionism, anxiety, homesickness, identity shifts, and the weight of major transitions, often layered on top of experiences you carried here long before. Whatever you're navigating, I'll meet you with directness, honesty, and genuine warmth — and there will likely be some laughter along the way. We'll work toward your goals as a team, with care tailored to you and shaped by an understanding that your background, identity, and lived experience matter deeply. This is a space space, and all are welcome here. I commonly work with students navigating: - Anxiety and perfectionism - Depression - Trauma and past experiences - Chronic illness and chronic pain - Homesickness and life transitions - Identity and self-worth Therapy with me is supportive and nonjudgmental — and direct. Expect to be gently challenged. Together we'll work on dismantling negative core beliefs, shifting unhelpful thought patterns, building healthy boundaries, and finding coping skills that actually fit your life . Our first session is about you. I'll walk you through what to expect and your rights as a client, and you'll have space to ask questions. Building trust and rapport makes the work possible — so we'll begin laying that foundation while I gather some important background. My goal is that when you leave, you feel heard, understood, and genuinely hopeful that growth is possible.
I offer a warm, welcoming space where you will be met with honesty and positivity. The therapy I offer is heart-centered and empathetic support for those who are experiencing anxiety and depression, and life transitions. I take a person-centered approach to collaborate with you on your goals, meeting you wherever you are in your journey. I believe in the healing and change that therapy brings people and believe in the power of tapping into the creative and deeper part of self that promotes true growth. I also believe in the unique strengths and abilities of people. As a therapist, my goal is to support you in increasing your self-compassion and self-confidence to achieve the life you desire.
Sometimes a sense of depression can be an alert to a spiritual emptiness or exhaustion that does not benefit from being pathologized or vilified as something "wrong" with you. It can signal an opportunity to release yourself from distractions and limitations that do not serve your deeply held values. If you want to explore your broken heart or disconnection in a holistic way, I invite you to begin the conversation to discover its deeper purpose. I work with individuals age 14 +, exploring the meaning in life, who want to develop healthy ways of managing distress, navigating change and creating opportunity for self-discovery. While integrating your core values with a trauma-informed and strength-based approach, I utilize combinations of therapies to best suit your needs including Psychodynamic theory, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Are you ready to explore what it means to live in alignment in the spiritual, emotional, relational and physical parts of yourself? I'm accepting new clients and look forward to hearing from you. Counseling and licensure supervision is available to therapists in Oregon. Check with your insurance provider to confirm your benefits and responsibilities.

*My office is within walking distance of the OSU - Cascades campus. I highly value working with college students as this is an exciting time in your life of growth and the ability to make your own choices that affect the trajectory of your life. Are you ready to experience change in your life? Are you struggling in your relationships with your family or in your marriage? Have you experienced challenges parenting your child or teen? Do you want to build stronger family bonds or have a more intimate relationship with your partner? Life is all about relationships and how we can best connect with those that we love. Maybe past events or patterns of behavior are contributing to the issues you are experiencing? It's important to find a clinician that you can connect with so you feel safe and confident in moving forward towards your goals. I would like to join your journey towards healing and restoration. Counseling provides an opportunity to focus on what experiences, habits, and patterns that cause you to feel "stuck" while in a safe and judgement free place. Trauma touches most everyone and affects our internal belief systems. These underlying beliefs affect how we think, feel, and act. I specialize in trauma recovery and use an attachment based approach, EMDR, family systems, and internal family systems. These interventions provide relief for trauma symptoms and assist in rebuilding a person's core self-identity. If you are ready for change, please call for your free phone consultation and let's begin.

What is an Authentic Life Path? The question should really be What is YOUR Authentic Life Path? Often in the hustle and bustle of the “real world” we kind of just go with the flow and often lose ourselves. Sometimes it is scary to live our lives authentically. Living authentically means the person you feel you truly are on the inside. I started my career in the IT field, but realized I did not have a passion for it or enjoy it. I wanted to help others. I became a licensed marriage and family therapist, and am now living my authentic life path and want to help you find and live yours. I specialize in working with children, tweens, teens and adults who identify as transgender or genderqueer. I also specialize in the LGBTQIAA+ community. I work with all religions and spiritualities and all types of families no matter what the unique makeup. I provide a safe, supportive environment for you to explore yourself and grow into your most authentic self and find the path that is right for you. Give me a call or email if you have any questions.
Good day and hello! I generally work with people who have experienced childhood, intergenerational, and historical trauma, neurodivergent folks, LGBTQIA2S+, people experiencing grief or big life changes, and might experience really big feelings. I strive to be a provider rooted in anti-oppression ways of being and openly discuss the therapeutic power dynamic. I offer therapy rooted in humanness, joy, and authenticity.
My clients are dedicated athletes grappling with eating disorders or OCD, facing the dual challenges of their mental health and a desire to perform at their peak. They are often overwhelmed by the demands of their sport, which can blur the lines between passion and harmful habits. Their primary goal is to reclaim their lives and their love for their sport, seeking not just recovery, but transformation—an opportunity to realign their beliefs and values towards a healthier, more balanced existence. They crave empowerment, resilience, and the ability to thrive both in their athletic pursuits and personal lives.
