Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed? Would you like and to make the best decisions for yourself? Do you need to prioritize your obligations and responsibilities? Are you worrying about everything—in the present and future? Are you struggling with your mental health, education, career, relationships, social circles? Do you need someone to help you create true, lasting change? Being a emerging adult is an exciting time that can be filled with possibilities for adventure, growth and exploration. At the same time, it can bring a sense of confusion and feeling overwhelmed about who you are, what you want and how to get there. Maybe there are obstacles, new or old, that get in the way of making progress. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), younger adults today face more stress than any other previous generation. Your concerns are unique from those of your parents, making a tailored, custom approach to therapy most beneficial. I provide such an approach. Emerging adulthood is the perfect time to discover new strategies to better manage your life so that you can become your best self and have the future that you want.

I am an Asian American therapist with over 10 years of experience working with undergraduate and graduate students, traditional and non-traditional. My aim as a therapist is to offer my clients a space where they can take the time from their otherwise hectic schedules to pause and be curious about their feelings, behaviors, and reactions. Often we can feel like we are moving from one task to another and before long, we lose touch with why we started on the path we are on in the first place. In therapy, one can reconnect with the parts of themselves needed to feel balanced and thrive. I also strongly believe that the relationship between therapist and client is key for one to be able to explore, reflect, and ultimately heal. As such, I prioritize in creating a safe, supportive space where we may work together to better understand your unique experiences.

Sometimes words don’t fully capture our experiences or do them justice. My journey into this work began with the discovery that art, music, movement, and other forms of creative expression can communicate the parts of ourselves that language alone cannot reach. These expressions are deeply human and can become powerful pathways to insight, healing, and connection. Therapy asks for honesty, vulnerability, and commitment, but it does not have to focus only on pain. My approach balances depth and growth with humor, curiosity, and discovery. Art therapy is not about being “good” at art; it is about using creativity and reflection to gain insight, process experiences, and foster new perspectives and possibilities. Together, we will explore patterns, relationships, challenges, and goals while strengthening resilience, quieting self-critical thoughts, and developing practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. Our work creates the foundation for deeper self-understanding, greater balance, and lasting growth.

If you’re looking for a therapist who shows up like a regular person, and not a blank slate, look no further. In this room, you won’t get a lot of blank “I see” or “Ahh.” Instead, you’ll have a therapist who is warm, empathetic, and (most importantly) FUNNY. I aim to make the therapy room a space where you can show up exactly as you are. That is, authentically you, whatever that looks like on any given day. We can make space to laugh, to cry, to feel what it is you need to feel in order to help you grow into the you that you want to be. I want this relationship to feel collaborative and within your boundaries. If something we’re doing isn’t working for you, tell me and let’s work together to find something that works for you!

Have you arrived at a point in your life where carrying so much emotional and mental weight is becoming significant in your life? These challenges can present as feeling stuck and/or experiencing depression, anxiety & more. I believe arriving to Self can happen by showing up completely through the internal work that focuses on awareness, connection, mindfulness, ancestral wisdom, and community. I work with individuals seeking alignment who are open to an integrative approach to therapy. Our partnership explores a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences. Your unique story is approached with the desired goals and changes that can bring balance into your life. I offer a culturally humble and holistic approach along with evidence-based modalities as well as holistic modalities (teachings from Yoga, Reiki, and plant medicine). Therapy can be a powerful way to help you delve into the deep, inner work that helps one develop awareness of intergenerational patterns and traumas that may keep you stuck in the past and struggling to thrive in the present. Healing yourself means healing community - congratulations in making the step towards embodying the wholeness and truth of you!

Feeling stressed out or anxious? Since 2020, many of us have experienced loneliness, struggling to understand our lack of motivation and turmoil in our personal lives. Maybe you’re just feeling ‘stuck’. I provide a warm, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for clients to explore their selves, feelings, and relationships. I work with a diverse population, particularly LGBTQ+, gender non-conforming, in-transition. I am also working under supervision to specialize in couples, relationships, and sex therapy. Gestalt, Humanism and Mindfulness are the foundation of my strengths-based approach. I use experiential exercises, such as clinical hypnosis and role play to assist clients develop new perspectives and integrate what they learn, along with CBT and DBT tools. A mind/body approach, including EMDR, is useful for processing trauma and other developmental wounds. I strive to help clients find greater self-acceptance and -compassion so they can develop more effective coping methods and communication skills to lead more rewarding and purposeful lives. The most important factor in the success of therapy is the therapist-client relationship. I offer a 15 minute consultation to see if we might work well together.

I am a Latina therapist, clinical supervisor, speaker, consultant, and founder of Capaz Counseling. I oversee staff who provide $25 therapy sessions because I believe in supporting the mission of accessible care. I specialize in Attachment and Trauma Therapy and create communities for fellow BIPOC therapists. Over the past decade, in hospitals, non-profits, and school-based mental health clinics, I’ve supported adults, children, and families on a path of attunement and embodied relationships. I flow between Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology and Emotionally Focused Therapy, to help folx deepen the relationship they hold with themselves and others. There is strength in understanding the patterns that shape you, and I help shine a light on your immense capacity for growth within and beyond those patterns. Together we will reflect on your inner and outer world so that we can hold space for somatic connection, holistic understanding, and compassion for all parts of you. I enjoy working with those from all walks of life. My expertise shines particularly in supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIAGNC folx navigating their professional world, young adults developing their identity(ies), those who’ve experienced trauma, and parents who would like to create new generational cycles in their parenting. As a first-gen entrepreneur, I believe in the power of creating spaces for us, by us. In addition to managing my practice, I’ve found joy in the community I’ve created by launching a New York BIPOC therapist consultation group and listserv, and in supporting emerging practices and early-career therapists navigate their journeys.

We are often engaging in life through the means that we have been taught by all of those who have come before us. Life has become a perpetual cycle where bliss, peace, harmony, and all of the other facets that make life worth living seem to escape us more and more. Instead, we are trapped in depression, anxiety, distrust, judgment and more often than not our physical temples are suffering. Collectively, a shift in perception is needed. This starts with the individual. Traditional integrative psychotherapy infused with an array of healing modalities intuitively tailored to your specific needs. The sessions can include Kundalini yoga and Meditation, Energetic Clearing, Light Language, Shadow Work Healing, Ancestral Clearing, Womb Activation Healing & Cosmic Coding. If you do not have self –awareness; if you do not bask in your own love, if you are running on autopilot and have no INNERstanding- the world around you will reflect this. Your life is your classroom it is perfectly woven to bring you back to you. No exceptions. Take the time to be in relationship with self and know that all else will follow.

I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can better understand your emotions, build resilience, and develop healthier patterns in both relationships and how you see yourself. I work with clients to uncover and shift the internal narratives that may be holding them back from showing up fully and authentically in relationships and life. In our sessions, I’ll help you manage stress and anxiety, set healthy boundaries, and navigate career transitions with intention.
