My history of working in school settings from pre-K through college has shaped my approach to therapy, which is rooted in the belief that counseling is a learning process. From the foundation of a strong client/counselor partnership, clients can build skills and gain understanding to foster better relationships with both themselves and others, while also developing a more intentional and effective process for responding to stressors and challenges. Together, we can collaborate to clarify your goals for counseling and develop an individualized plan that balances support, insight, and skill building. I am a Licensed LMHC by the University of NYS, bilingual in both English and Spanish. I began my career in 1988 as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at the University of Buenos Aires with a concentration in Psychoanalysis and Psychological Testing. I later became a Psycho-dramatist dealing with Psychodynamic interventions, as well as Behavioral techniques and Counseling. I have over 30 years of experience. 2. I began working for the National Argentinean Board of Education where I created, implemented and led psycho-dramatic seminaries, helping principals and teachers at intermediate and elementary schools. I was the primary contact for families and staff to facilitate fluid communication and good education for children. 3. As a Private Practice Professional, I developed treatment plans tailored specifically to my clients. I also supervised clinical cases, coordinated care and services such as interaction with patients, family members and physicians from hospitals to facilitate adequate transferring. I later developed strong psychological skills in coaching, consulting and counseling of top executives in corporations such as Telecom Argentina, Phillip Morris Argentina. I also have had extensive experience in counseling immigrants, especially unaccompanied minors and their available family members, for potential immigration relief. Most of these individuals do not speak English and the vast majority of them are unable to understand the complexity and intricacy of U.S. immigration laws even in their native Spanish. They may not even be aware that they have pending court cases, and may not appear at a scheduled hearing, which often leads to very serious consequences 4. I currently specialize as a Bilingual Psychotherapist targeting young people and adults who suffer from disorders such as PTSD, Major Depression, Psychosis and Anxiety. I also work with individual and family counseling, helping with diagnosis and crisis intervention, and serving parents with their own dynamics within the family. 5. I serve as PRN Clinician (Clinician called as needed) for BCFS working with unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors. BCFS Health and Human Services' Emergency Management Division specializes in emergency management, incident management, disaster response, public health & medical emergency response, mass care, medical sheltering and participating in planning for vulnerable populations..

You're smart. You've always figured things out. So why does it feel like your emotions are the one thing you can't get a handle on? Maybe you've got the grades, the group chat, the schedule packed with things you're "supposed" to want... and still find yourself lying in bed at 2am wondering why everything feels so heavy. That's actually exactly the kind of thing I work on with you in therapy. I'm Mallory Grimste, LCSW, a therapist based in Branford, CT who specializes in working with teens, college students, and young adults who are emotionally overwhelmed and high-achieving at the same time. (Yes, both. It's more common than you think.) I use a DBT-informed approach, which basically means I teach real, practical strategies- the kind you can actually use when you're about to crash out before a big exam or spiraling after a hard conversation. We can work on anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, and navigating relationships — including the one you have with yourself. My clients don't just feel better in session. They leave treatment feeling more confident in who they are, more capable of handling the hard stuff, and genuinely proud of how far they've come. I offer telehealth sessions in Connecticut and New York, and in-person sessions in Branford, CT. If that sounds like what you've been looking for, I'd love to connect. 👉 Learn more and apply to work together: mallorygrimste.com/counseling-services

Maybe you’ve been the “easy kid” — the one who doesn’t make waves, keeps it together, and takes care of everyone else. On the outside, you look fine. Inside, you feel unseen, weighed down, or like no one really gets you. I’m Citlali (seet-la-lee), but most call me Lali (like lollipop) a therapist who helps young adults with parents who can’t always show up emotionally. In therapy, you don’t have to pretend or be “the strong one.” This is a space just for you — to talk about what’s real, to figure out who you are, and to feel supported instead of alone. Reach out to schedule your free 15 minute intro call to see if we're a good fit together! I look forward to connecting soon :)

My top priority is to provide you with a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We will work together towards developing insight, fostering self-compassion, and finding strategies to help you live a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. We will set goals together, tailoring our approach to suit your individual needs and preferences. I have had the honor to work in the field of mental health for the past 15 years and journey alongside amazing people who were able to discover the strength, grace, and wisdom waiting for them. While I have experience providing several treatment modalities, I specialize in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have also been extensively trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Additionally, for the past eight years, I have taught courses on human behavior and additional topics at SUNY Brockport and Nazareth College allowing me to stay current on mental health research and treatments. My experience has shown me that everyone has the capacity for growth, we sometimes just need a space to discover and map out the life that we want. I would be honored to provide that space and help you bring more authenticity into your life.
