I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, negative self-talk, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. Many struggle with overthinking, self-doubt, or difficulty creating meaningful connections. Together, we’ll explore how your past experiences—whether from childhood or past relationships—impact your present struggles. We’ll challenge negative beliefs, cultivate self-compassion, and help you build emotional resilience. Therapy is not just about working through difficulties but also about discovering your inner strengths, using them to foster lasting change and greater confidence in your life.

Hello! With over 25 years working with individuals and couples, I have a wide range of counseling experience with issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship conflicts, illness, parenting, loss and bereavement, and aging. I use a range of evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy to help you change unhelpful patterns and realize your goals. My focus is on the development of your personal strengths, emotional and relational intelligence, and resilience. Based on the trust and respect we build together, our work will focus on ways to make your life more satisfying and productive. By listening attentively to your concerns, I can guide you to a clearer understanding of what is holding you back from a more fulfilling life. With compassion and caring, I build on our connection to enhance your ability to cope, to deal with stress, disappointment, anger and grief, and to improve your personal and work relationships. In our first session, we will establish a good working partnership and discuss what brought you to this point and your expectations for therapy. We will create a shared understanding of how you see your problems and how we will work together to reduce your stress and improve your life. Please reach out if you think we might be a good fit! By the time people reach out to me, they often feel overwhelmed, stuck, and unable to move forward. Do you struggle with anxiety and fear, constantly on edge, and unable to relax? Do you feel isolated and alone in your experience? Are your relationships suffering, leaving you feeling guilty and ashamed, unsure of how to cope? Are you experiencing uncontrollable nightmares and flashbacks? Many people facing these symptoms of trauma feel hopeless, saying, "I feel like I'm losing myself and need help finding my way back. I'm afraid to talk about it, but I know I need to." Therapy with me begins exactly where you are. I will be your guide, offering support and virtually holding your hand throughout your healing journey. Together, we will: Improve your understanding of trauma and its impact on your thoughts and feelings. Reduce avoidance behaviors and difficulties in experiencing positive emotions. Alleviate distress related to traumatic memories. Decrease feelings of anxiety, anger, guilt, and shame. Enhance your day-to-day living, and improve your relationship with yourself and others. By the end of therapy with me, you'll find relief from past pain, feel calmer and happier, and see improvements in your daily life and relationships. Feeling safe in a therapeutic setting is paramount. As survivors, it’s natural to want to get to know the specialist you’re working with before sharing difficult feelings and your story. I’ve always been a curious person. Some might call it nosy, but for me it’s about wanting to understand what makes each person unique. That curiosity began with my own story, figuring out who I am and where I come from. Growing up in an immigrant household as a biracial person brought its own challenges, and those experiences shaped my connection to this work. Mental health has always felt deeply personal to me. Having been impacted by it both directly and indirectly, I’ve learned to turn adversity into strength and purpose, and to connect with others through empathy and understanding. Think of therapy as a choose-your-own-adventure. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are at. Some sessions might be spent processing the pain of a difficult breakup, while others may focus on something lighter, like venting about a character you can’t stand in a show you’re watching. I value the open-endedness of person-centered therapy and enjoy finding creative and meaningful ways to support clients.

I want to help you improve your life, whatever that might look like for you. My name is Eleanor, and I am a master’s student in the Mental Health Counseling program at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva University. I also have a BA in Classical Studies and a minor in Hispanic Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. ‍In session, we will explore your present experiences, reflect on your past, and keep an eye on building the future you desire. Together, we can examine how trauma and childhood experiences influence your behaviors today. If applicable, we will also explore your relationships and attachment style. Finally, we will map out the many parts that make up the whole you. My goal? To help you gain insight into yourself, truly feel and regulate your emotions, and overall enhance the quality of your life. The approach to your therapy will be individualized and will depend on your specific goals – you decide what you want to put in your therapeutic toolbox. My therapeutic style is primarily rooted in the psychodynamic and IFS (internal family systems) modalities, though I also utilize aspects of the CBT, ACT, ERP, DBT, and Gestalt theories. We will work together to explore which approach feels best for you!‍ My overarching career goal is to provide profound solace for college-age students and young adults. My focuses within therapeutic work are: anxiety, depression, OCD, relationships and dating, families, attachment, sexual exploration, substance use, and personality disorders. Ultimately, I strive to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you feel supported in your journey of self-discovery and growth. Eleanor Wynn is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offer $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists-in-training accruing clinical hours.

I am passionate about supporting people on their journeys of self-exploration, empowerment, and healing. While this journey looks different for everyone, therapy provides us with a unique opportunity to learn more about ourselves- our identities, the people and places that have shaped us, and life experiences. I have deep respect for the courage it takes to show up for ourselves in this way and believe we can do so with curiosity and compassion. I believe in the transformative power of feeling deeply seen and valued in the therapeutic relationship and have personally experienced how it can help us cultivate better relationships with ourselves and others. Together, we may want to explore practices that have helped you survive thus far and experiment with new or different strategies. You may be looking to understand big or challenging feelings bubbling up while navigating life’s complexities. Or you may want to feel more rooted in yourself and your values and want to shift into a more embodied way of moving through the world. Whatever brought you here- I’ll support you every step of the way. We’ll work together to explore your unique needs, while honoring your strengths and innate wisdom. I don’t see myself as an “expert,” rather a skilled and caring partner, excited to support you as we navigate this work together. I strive to be anti-oppressive in my approach, paying special attention to the ways in which people are impacted by systems and -isms as well as my own positionality as a therapist. I completed my Bachelor’s in Gender & Women’s Studies and Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my Master’s in Social Work at Columbia University. I've been providing therapy in community-based settings for the past 5 years, working predominantly with female, trans, and nonbinary survivors of the criminal legal system and family court system as well as survivors of intimate partner violence/ domestic violence. I am especially passionate about supporting student activists and organizers on campus. My practice is neurodiversity-affirming and I have training in self-psychology and AEDP, a trauma-focused somatic-based modality. I am also completing training for internal family systems. Some of the theoretical perspectives that inform my work include attachment theory, relational approaches, liberation psychology, and narrative therapy. I am also deeply influenced by my abolitionist values. Therapy sessions with me typically occur weekly, although bi-weekly is possible for established clients. I am able to meet via telehealth exclusively (my practice is 100% telehealth with no in-person sessions). I am currently accepting insurance and am also an out-of-network provider. This means that you may be eligible to receive reimbursement through your insurance coverage. My full fee is $150 per 45-minute individual therapy session. If you are interested in learning more about what therapy with me might look like, please reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation by emailing here: margaret.horwitz@balancedmindofny.com

The way we think about ourselves and the world we are in greatly influences our feelings and actions. If we take the time to consider other alternatives, we might be able to see events from a more helpful perspective, and with practice, engage in more beneficial behaviors. I enjoy making my clients be active participants in their journey towards emotional wellness. My clients are the experts on their own life, and my job is to help you come to discover what is best for yourself. I acknowledge the intersectionality of everyone’s identity to create a welcoming, healing environment to all of my clients. I specialize in working with adolescents, emerging adults of color from the LGBTQ+ community, and work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, coming out, and life transitions. Exploring therapy does not make us "crazy" as many of us might've heard at one point or another. Give yourself the opportunity to be in a supportive space in which you are able to untangle your thoughts and emotions; where you are heard and validated. Let's pave the way towards the creation of healthier coping mechanisms and emotional wellness together.

I believe one of the bravest things you can do is to live authentically and understand your own story. You can live a life that excites you. If you are working through life transitions, trauma, or are looking to deepen your understanding of yourself and enhance connection with others, I can help you on your path. Peeling the layers of trauma takes courage, strength, and inner power. I work through a social justice lens with an understanding that societal influence/injustice impacts individuals and communities. I have over ten years of experience in mental health and specialized training in trauma. I offer a compassionate space where you can explore what may be affecting you, find ways to move past it, feel empowered to work toward becoming the best version of yourself, and learn to live with greater purpose and intentionality.

Experience Psychotherapy is a psychotherapy practice grounded in the understanding that working with experience in the present moment is a profoundly powerful building block for promoting personal growth and health. I work with people collaboratively to develop the skills to navigate life and relationships with more confidence and flexibility. College is often a time in life of great growth and transition. This can be exciting, but also stressful and disorienting. Therapy can be a place to organize ourselves in the midst of these stressful periods.
