As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I take a trauma-informed, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy. I understand that trauma can shape the way you experience yourself, your relationships, and the world—and that healing requires both safety and choice. My role is to help you reconnect with your strengths, restore a sense of control, and create space for growth that feels steady and empowering.I work from a trauma-informed lens, prioritizing safety, trust, empowerment, and emotional regulation in every session. I move at your pace and always respect your autonomy. Together, we’ll explore your experiences gently and intentionally, focusing on how trauma impacts your mind, body, and daily life. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process traumatic memories in a way that reduces emotional distress and shifts long-held beliefs. EMDR can be especially effective for individuals who feel “stuck,” overwhelmed by past events, or disconnected from their sense of self. I also integrate CBT, mindfulness practices, somatic awareness, and strengths-based approaches—always tailoring the work to what feels most supportive for you.Your first session is a calm, low-pressure space to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask gentle questions about your goals, your history, and what you need to feel safe and supported. We’ll talk about what trauma-informed therapy looks like and, if you’re interested, I’ll explain how EMDR works and whether it may be a good fit—though we won’t begin EMDR on day one. You can expect a collaborative, compassionate conversation where you set the pace. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and clear about our next steps.

I have seen many students over the years who are struggling with perfectionism, self-doubt, intense anxiety and depression, and who are working out difficult relationship dynamics with family, friends, and intimate partners. I hope that by coming to therapy with me, you are offered a warm and comforting environment where we can look together at issues without judgment. I will try to offer you perspective and what wisdom I've gained over the years to help your life at Cornell be what you'd like it to be. I look forward to hearing from you.
My story starts with losing a delivery job with UPS in my early 20s because I ran over two cones during training. I needed a new direction and found my passion for helping people. I am grateful I ran over those two cones because it changed my career. Now, I have 15 years of experience as a licensed mental health professional and started Cuda Counseling (CC), where I work with an amazing team. We help individuals succeed by dialing down their inner critic and creating an inner ally. I understand that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective counseling. That's why I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can freely discuss your challenges and wins. My action-oriented approach is designed to help you identify achievable measures of success, empowering you to realize your full potential. Don't hesitate to reach out if you're ready to experience inner freedom by identifying and overcoming challenging thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Let's connect and start your journey towards more joy, better relationships, and peace. Remember, the first step is often the hardest and most rewarding.

We offer trauma-focused strengths-based therapy to individuals, caregivers, and families. When working with children, families will be engaged in play therapy sessions to encourage bonding, communication, and growth. With adolescents and adults, using CBT techniques, we will focus on replacing negative thinking with positive self-talk and adapting positive coping mechanisms. Through Somatic Experiencing techniques, we can tap into physical and emotional symptoms associated with trauma -- locked into the body -- and guide you into identifying and utilizing the innate healing capacity in your body.
I graduated from UMass Medical school and was trained in adult psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital. Prior to going to medical school I received a Masters in Teaching from Boston University and worked as a teacher. This unique background affects my approach to psychiatry. I believe that a good psychiatrist should work with you to help you learn about yourself and your mental health. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic styles including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), psychodynamic therapy, supportive therapy, and Gottman style couples/relationship therapy. During my time at CHA I worked extensively with the Gender and Sexuality Clinic to serve patients of diverse sexual and gender identities. I also co-lead a group therapy for individuals in polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships. I have taught at the American Psychiatric Association’s specialized rotation for HIV Psychiatry, including lectures on how to provide effective telepsychiatry, and I have presented at a national meeting on teaching providers how to better work with patients to prescribe medications. I am a licensed physician in Massachusetts, New York, and California. I offer in person appointments in Somerville, MA as well as secure telehealth appointments to those residing in Massachusetts, New York, and California. In addition to medication management I offer individual and relationship/couples therapy.
