I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with expertise in treating trauma, anxiety, substance use problems, and insomnia. I also work with people experiencing life transitions, academic stress, grief, relationship difficulties, and health-related stress. I love working with students and young adults. I have extensive experience working with individuals of diverse cultural, racial, gender, and sexual identities, and I am committed to providing affirming, anti-oppressive care for all clients. No two individuals are the same, so I work with each client to understand their goals and needs for treatment. I provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with integration of other evidence-based methods, such as mindfulness, values, and emotion-focused work. If appropriate to your needs, I can offer specialized types of therapy, including Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, CBT for Insomnia, CBT for Substance Use Disorders, and exposure therapy for anxiety disorders. I approach therapy with compassion, authenticity, and (when appropriate) a sense of humor. I see therapy as a collaborative relationship, rather than one of passive listening. If my approach sounds like a good match for you, let’s talk!
I am a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) and licensed creative arts therapist (LCAT). I work from a foundation of person-centered and psychodynamic psychotherapy and emphasize trauma informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and culturally responsive care. My work focuses on working collaboratively with clients to develop caring and compassionate relationships in a space of safety and healing. I utilize traditional talk therapy as well as working through recorded music, singing, improvisational music-making and instrument play to encourage creativity and enhance joy. I have received advanced training in trauma and the arts from Kint Institute, had writing focused on several professional publications, and presented at national and regional conferences. Most recently, I was the co-author of a chapter in Creative Arts Therapies and the LGBTQ Community. I also run workshops and individual sessions utilizing singing as a form of wellness, and supportive groups for body neutrality/fat positivity.
Colorful Mind Psychotherapy is a compassionate team of licensed psychotherapists with years of experience serving Asian American communities. Many of us share lived experiences of immigration, bicultural identity, intergenerational conflicts, overt racism, and microaggressions. These experiences deeply inform our work and strengthen our commitment to supporting the emotional, cultural, and systemic challenges that members of the Asian community often face. Our practice offers tailored therapy for children, families, and adults. Our approach is rooted in trauma-informed care that honors the diverse cultural and personal backgrounds of each client.
College is an exciting but challenging time, and it’s normal to feel overwhelmed by the pressures of academics, social life, and planning for the future. If you’re feeling anxious, stressed, or uncertain about your path, I’m here to help. I specialize in working with students like you who might be struggling with anxiety, motivation, procrastination, or relationship challenges. Whether you’re dealing with the stress of exams, navigating new relationships, or questioning your identity and future goals, we can work together to create a more balanced, fulfilling life. My approach is warm, supportive, and non-judgmental, focusing on practical strategies to help you overcome internal struggles and build the confidence you need to thrive both in college and beyond.
You deserve a therapist who understands your life in all its complexity. My clients are individuals and couples working through anxiety, depression, grief, identity questions, and strain in their relationships. Many have struggled to find a therapist who can help them feel comfortable exploring more challenging parts of their lives. A lot of my work is with men who learned early that self-reliance was supposed to be enough. I also specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients and with people exploring nonmonogamy and kink. I want that to be a place of affirmation, not something you have to explain or defend. My approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems. I'm a Certified IFS therapist and have served as a teaching assistant for the IFS Institute. IFS meets the parts of you that feel stuck with curiosity instead of judgment. I also draw on CBT, psychodynamic, and relational work. Before this, I spent a decade in business, government, and nonprofits. That background gives me a feel for the real-world pressures people carry into the room. Reaching out is often the hardest part. Whether you're feeling stuck or just ready to understand yourself better, I'd be glad to talk. I see clients virtually across New York, New Jersey, and Colorado, and I offer a free 15-minute consultation.
Do you ever feel like life is overwhelming, weighed down by depression, anxiety, stress, or life transitions? I know it can be scary to reach out for help, and I am here to provide compassionate care and a space where you feel understood. I understand that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, so you can expect me to tailor therapeutic approaches to your needs. Whenever you're ready, I am here to listen, support, and help you take steps towards the life you want to create.

I bring warmth, empathy, and curiosity to every session, creating a safe space where you can feel seen, heard, and valued. I integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and always work through a trauma-informed lens. Your comfort and emotional safety are my highest priorities. Together, we’ll work collaboratively toward your goals, whether that involves developing self-care practices, managing stress, learning grounding techniques, or any other area that supports your overall well-being. I find that I am the best fit for individuals who are looking to enhance their emotional well being and want to challenge themselves. I specialize in helping individuals struggling with life transitions, depression, and anxiety. My therapeutic approach considers clients to be the experts in their life, with my role as a guide to help uncover negative patterns and work towards positive change.
My areas of focus and expertise address healing from trauma, family conflict, anxiety, depression, anger, adjustment challenges, and mindfulness. You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure about who you’re becoming. Maybe you’re juggling school, relationships, or life between cultures—and it’s starting to feel like too much. I specialize in working with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, self-doubt, cultural adjustment, and identity exploration. As a bilingual (English–Mandarin) therapist, I understand how cultural roots and personal growth can sometimes pull us in different directions—and how lonely that can feel. My approach combines Existential Analysis with evidence-based therapies such as ACT, CBT, and DBT. I meet you with curiosity and compassion, helping you build emotional clarity, self-trust, and balance. Together, we explore the patterns that shape your story and nurture the parts of you ready to grow. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start therapy. We’ll take it one step at a time, in a space that’s thoughtful, collaborative, and fully yours.
Suffering from anxiety can be like falling into quicksand, the more you fight it, the deeper you sink. Do you feel lost in your struggle with anxiety or find it difficult articulate how you are feeling? Perhaps you tend to take care of others but can’t figure out how to take care of yourself? I believe you have the power within to change your life story and psychotherapy is the tool to help you lift yourself up. Imagine being the author and the main character in your life story, with the ability to create change and move towards a more meaningful life. Narrative therapists like me use stories as a vehicle for healing, as the way we all experience life is largely defined by our own internal narrative. Sometimes, other people or negative events can write chapters in our life’s story. My goal is, through open and trusting dialogue, to help you reauthor your story, take control of your narrative, and heal. I know personally how vulnerable it can be to look for help. That’s why I bring optimism, hope, perseverance, and compassion to my clinical work and will walk alongside you in your journey to greater insight, self-awareness, and growth. I am currently accepting new clients, so when you are ready, reach out and see if we would be a good fit to work together!
I have been practicing for over 38 years in the field of addiction and mental health. I specialize in trauma based and person centered care. I am a good listener with all cares and concerns brought to the therapeutic environment.
Hello! I’m Sakena, and I’m a Master’s student in the Social Work Program at Binghamton University. I aim to create a safe space for clients to comfortably navigate through any difficulties. I understand everyone is different, and with that, I make sure my approaches are in each client’s best interest. When working with clients, I use approaches such as active listening, skill building, and mindfulness to help clients through the difficult experiences they’re facing. These skills come from a holistic approach that is person-centered and follows CBT and SFBT. My goal as your therapist is to help you reach your goals. I believe this journey is a collaborative process, and you can progress through it at your own pace.
