Finding a good psychotherapist can be emotionally exhausting and time consuming. We take it very seriously that you are entrusting us with key/critical aspects of your life. That is why it is our goal to provide a team of psychologists & psychotherapists from diverse backgrounds who constantly grow and challenge one another to be the best at what they do. At The Village Institute our team is constantly studying the most effective ideas and research to improve their skills as clinicians. What does this mean for you? It means that our goal is not just that you have a great therapist, but that you have a therapist that is great for you. At The Village Institute, you won’t have a therapist that gets stagnant and has nothing more to offer – because we are a community that constantly pushes one another to learn and to grow.
No matter what the circumstances, stress and worry have a way of creeping into our minds and bodies. Whether it’s old wounds, unwanted patterns of behaviors, or the pressures of recent circumstances, if you need someone to truly listen— objectively and with care — you’ve come to the right place. As trained and qualified professionals at Marsh Psychotherapy, we are here in whatever format you need, offering video and phone sessions to protect your physical wellbeing, while we focus on your emotional wellbeing. Just as we would through in-person therapy sessions, our therapists will listen and engage in a productive dialogue. We will help you process your concerns in a safe and non judgmental environment.
I am a New York State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, New Mexico State Licensed Professional Art Therapist, and Nationally Board Certified Art Therapist, who offers talk therapy and art psychotherapy for adults seeking insight, personal growth and change--particularly after major life transition, grief, loss or trauma. These experiences may pertain to starting school, academic stressors, medical illness, injury, disability, relationships, loss of loved ones, job loss or instability, relocation, and certainly much more. In our sessions together we can explore issues that come up around the extreme shifts in how you know how to be in the world, your self expectations and sense of identity, feelings of confusion, and accompanying feelings of distress. We will gently address your stressors and any feelings of misunderstanding, alienation or isolation in order to ultimately foster integration, personal advocacy, individuation, and renewed inspiration for your next path forward. I will encourage you to access creative imagination through a holistic, psychodynamic, relational, transpersonal, social action, and anti-oppressive lens. This means that we will engage in deep processing discussion--alongside art, creative expression, guided visualization, mindfulness and some somatic therapy, including the option of Reiki--to help us learn more about your needs, barriers, and goals in the present and how to pivot with insight from the past. We will particularly look at the intersection of your individual mindset, conscious awareness, unconscious impulses, and psyche with the events and lived experiences you have been met with in the groups you have belonged to and the communities around you. We will also consider how each of us impacts those individuals and communities around us, and acknowledge how as we make positive change, those reverberations can aid our community in greater compassion, growth, and improvement for many others in big and small ways. You deserve to recognize, explore, nurture, and be reminded of your natural strength, resiliency, and capacity for insight, growth, and joy! While therapy may challenge you to make sense in new ways of past and current conflict, crisis, or loss, our work together will seek access to a state of calm within, and the wisdom which may be created from each and any situation: all with motivation, inspiration, acceptance, choice, and hope. Together--let's make change, and find comfort during change.
Anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma are some of the most challenging issues to live with. In my work with individuals, families, and couples I've had the opportunity to help guide my clients through these struggles and begin experiencing more fulfilling lives. I also have experience working with clients on body-image-related issues and deconstructing the standard idea of beauty. If these issues are relatable to you, please know you are not alone. It is extremely courageous to take this first step to seek help and guidance. As a marriage and family therapist, I believe that relational work can be an incredible way to embark on a healing journey. No one lives on this earth alone, nor should we feel as though we do. Strengthening or rebuilding our relationships, even the one we have with ourselves, can positively impact our lives in incredible ways.
Aren't you tired of reading these profiles? Searching for that perfect mix of magic and promise that makes you think, "this one might just be worth the risk." And why shouldn't you be picky, right? Therapy IS a risk. You're risking time, money, and most of all; vulnerability. You want some sort of assurance that your risk will pay off. Well, no one can promise you that. Your therapist won't always know the perfect thing to say, and you won't walk out of every session feeling better. You want growth? You want change? That takes the willingness to not just bear, but to actually VALUE the pain involved in learning. Because if I'm doing my job right, then the negative patterns that are holding you back in life will spill out into the room. So if you’re just looking to end your suffering, I can't help you (sadly, no one can). If you want to learn to withstand the torment that life brings upon us. To translate that suffering into growth and change. Then reach out to me.

We live in a high-paced world, pulling us in all directions, leading us to feel burnt out and disconnected from other people. You might have become tired of the nagging stress, the strong emotions, the complexity of navigating relationships, or the feeling that something is holding you back from reaching your full potential. Despite all of this, a part of you wants to feel better and move forward. After all, that is why you are taking this major step of seeking help at this moment in your life. In my practice, I construct a safe therapeutic space where you can slow down and breathe. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all formula to address your unique history, personality, and concerns. Therefore, I take a holistic and integrative approach. I consider your difficulties, strengths, where you came from, where you are now, and where you want to be. By working together with clients, I help them cultivate emotional intelligence, deepen honest self-reflection, and increase their motivation to change. Most of my clients aim to reduce stress, improve human connection, and live more meaningful lives. Hi! My name is Patricia. I am a therapist in training, trying to provide a space with compassion, dedication, and support in order to help my clients, in their own capacity, to heal and thrive. To provide a place where they can feel safe and have their voice heard. I use a couple of different modalities depending on what the client needs because every client is unique. I usually gravitate towards a client-centered approach and implement cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT). However, I will adapt and tailor my therapeutic approach depending on what the client needs and what the best fit is. I am committed to providing a safe, judgment free space and help my clients grow and get themselves into a healthier place. I work with individuals who are curious to pursue change - whether this be by reflecting on obstacles, with a specific goal in mind, or simply because something feels as if it is not "working" for them. One does not have to be 100% motivated to use therapy well, instead, s/he/they can come to sessions with any sense of willingness to explore.

I have been a clinical social worker practicing for more than 15 years in the field of mental health, health care, and early intervention working with both individuals and their families. The therapy partnership is a special one and it is important for everyone to find the right therapist for them. Everyone’s experiences, circumstances, and situations are different. I have had the opportunity to specialize with chronic illnesses, depression/anxiety, addictions, trauma/abuse, relationship concerns, family problems, and self-esteem. During our sessions, we will use strategies and techniques that are specifically tailored to your needs to help achieve your short term and long term goals. I believe in person-centered therapy, solution based therapy, and motivational interviewing with the goal for you to find the internal motivation to empower you to move through a difficult situations. By working together, we will help to overcome emotional barriers affecting your overall quality of life.
I help my clients understand how their beliefs (about themselves and others) affect their decisions and how their decisions affect their lives, while also exploring whether the beliefs are more so based on exaggerated fears stemming from past heartaches and trauma or realistic self-conceptions. Additionally, we work on reducing bad habits. This approach is called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. And, I specialize in a form of CBT called Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), used to treat OCD.

I am a licensed master social worker (LMSW) providing individual and couples therapy in New York State. While I work with folks who have a variety of presenting concerns and backgrounds, I have a specific interest in working with individuals, couples, and people in partnerships who are identified as part of the LGBTQIA+, polyamorous, and kink communities. Whether you’re seeking individual or couples therapy, I believe that meaningful change tends to occur when people can shed the societal expectations of what they “should” be, in favor of embracing who they are. To that end, I have an eclectic style that integrates humanistic, relational, and family systems perspectives to fit the particular situation and individual(s) in the room. I seek to de-stigmatize sex, help people feel at home in their bodies, and encourage people to feel good about what they do in or with their bodies. After completing my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, I completed post-graduate education in the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy. Furthermore, I have additional training in working with sex and sexuality in psychotherapy, including desire discrepancy and infidelity. In terms of my personal philosophy, I strongly believe that my clients are the experts in their own experiences. I am committed to creating a space that is anti-racist, sex positive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming. I value transparency in the therapy process and seek to build a collaborative alliance with everyone I work with.
I am a New York State licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience. I work with adults of diverse backgrounds and my areas of special interest include difficult life transitions, relationship conflict, racial/cultural identity, and grief and loss. I offer online video therapy sessions (telehealth) exclusively, making therapy comfortable and accessible. Whether you are struggling with negative feelings toward yourself, dissatisfaction with relationships, your academic performance or are having difficulty letting go of the past, experiencing fear about the future, or simply feeling stuck in current circumstances, therapy can bring about needed change. To achieve this, our work together may involve finding meaning and purpose, establishing or recovering a connection to your inner emotional world and/or important people around you, processing and recovering from emotional wounds, be they old or recent, or formulating a concrete plan of action and working on it together step by step. My theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic and I integrate other approaches (i.e. DBT, CBT, etc.) as appropriate while always working from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens. I am Zur Institute certified in teletherapy. I offer a free brief phone consultation prior to scheduling an initial appointment in order to clarify whether teletherapy with me would be a good fit.
