My name is Kate. I am a psychotherapist with 20 years experience in the field. My practice is LGBTQI+ focused, though clients of all identities work with me. Clients come to me to reduce distress and bring ease into their lives. I practice affirmative therapy that is trauma-informed, nonjudgmental, and direct. I view therapy as a collaborative journey towards self-discovery, healing, and symptom relief. During our first therapy session, we will outline your goals, discuss your expectations, and leave plenty of time for you to ask questions. We will create a therapy plan together that provides an environment for you to explore needs, process your past and present, and identify new approaches to challenges in your life. I utilize psychodynamic psychotherapy, behavioral therapies such as DBT and ACT, and attachment-focused psychotherapy. I believe therapy is an evolving process between client and therapist, and methods can shift as therapy unfolds. I conduct all sessions remotely via zoom. I have current availability for individual sessions and gender affirming surgery letters.
Well Williamsburg Psychotherapy was founded by Dr. Sarah Chipps in the hopes of bringing effective and compassionate healing to the Williamsburg community. Our therapists practice evidence based treatment modalities. This means you receive care that is based on proven technique and philosophy. We take an active approach in continuously improving our technique and skills as therapists so that we can provide the highest quality, most effective treatment for you. Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or drained? Do you feel like no one understands what you have gone through/are going through? Or do you find that you keep your feelings and personal experiences to yourself so you’re not a burden to others? You are not alone. It is not uncommon to feel disconnected and lonely, especially in this day and age. My name is Patricia Sibiga and I am a graduate student at CUNY Hunter studying Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to work together to talk through feelings of dissatisfaction and having a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and heard. Being vulnerable about your feelings and experiences can feel really scary and hard to do, especially if you have experienced being shut down when trying to in the past. Holding onto difficult feelings on your own can start to feel like a weight on your shoulders that continues to get heavier without an end in sight. Starting therapy can help to release that weight and strengthen your resilience to life’s inevitable encounters. My ambition as a therapist-in-training is to create a space where you are able to discuss these feelings and experiences without feeling shut down and unheard. You deserve to have a space in your life to discuss these topics in a non-judgmental, uplifting environment! My practice is rooted in psychodynamic, CBT, and mindfulness based approaches with a sprinkle of somatic therapy. With these theoretical approaches, we can work together to learn how current and past experiences are impacting your day-to-day, to practice grounding and mindfulness, and discover healthy cognitive behaviors and coping skills that may help with psychological distress. Patricia Sibiga is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapist-in-training accruing clinical hours.
On the surface, you look like you have it all together— checking off your to-do list, being the strong one for others, pushing through each day—but inside, you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, and like you’ve lost sight of your purpose and passions. You find yourself leaving more and more of yourself on the back-burner just to get through all that’s expected of you. But where is the space for you? Our sessions will put you first and allow for all of you to be seen, validated, and heard. I specialize in working with adults and young adults navigating burnout, anxiety, overwhelm, relationship struggles, depression, body image & self-esteem issues, life transitions, trauma, and disordered eating. My expertise includes talk therapy, somatic-based psychotherapy, EMDR, movement therapy, & CBT in a trauma-responsive and culturally-affirming space. Together we will learn to recognize the signals your body sends when your boundaries are being crossed, when burnout is approaching, and when its time to reclaim your energy and purpose. My experience as a therapist includes working at the NYU Counseling Services for many years. I have a deep understanding of the challenges both undergraduate and graduate students face with the changes, separations and transitions involved in becoming independent adults. It is a time filled with excitement as well as stress and worries about the future. The internal and external pressures, expectations from family and demands of the academic world can feel overwhelming at times. For graduate and doctoral students, there are the stressors of completing programs, dissertations and the challenges of seeking employment. Students may also be struggling with feeling alone, isolated, anxious, depressed, dealing with body image self-esteem and sexuality issues as well as social pressures around alcohol and other substances. Therapy can help in navigating these challenges, offer insight and reduce stress. I am a compassionate, extensively trained and interactive therapist. Together, we can work to develop strategies, address negative patterns of thought and behaviors, manage stress and help you deal with relationships more effectively. I am also trained and certified in clinical hypnosis which can be very useful in managing the physical and psychological symptoms of stress and anxiety including phobias, GI issues such as IBS as well as reducing symptoms of depression while increasing self-confidence and success.

It depends on the need for therapy and if I have the skills to support the issue. I am open-minded and do not judge anyone for their life circumstances. Listening is the most useful skill for a therapist. This is a safe space for you to talk and have someone hear you. This is a collaborative process, and you are in the driver's seat.
