I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. I have over 10 years of experience from working as an Associate Professional in Community Support, a Qualified Professional, Intensive In-Home Counselor, a Team Lead, Intensive In-Home Counselor, and an Outpatient Counselor. I earned my BA from the North Carolina State University and my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are dealing with a wide range of challenges including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, trauma, grief/loss and substance abuse. I tend to integrate multiple theoretical perspectives in the therapeutic process to best suit the individual. Counseling approaches that may be used include cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, person-centered, strengths based and motivational interviewing. I am also a rostered clinician in Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and trained in EMDR. My goal is to empower clients to make positive changes towards their identified goals.
I help young adults navigate the uncertainty of life transitions by offering guidance, emotional resilience, and clarity so that they can confidently step into the next chapter of their lives and create a fulfilling future.
Throughout our lives we are in a constant state of growth. Experiencing life transitions, exploring who we are as people, navigating relationships. These inevitable experiences can be exacerbated by mental and emotional challenges, substance use, trauma, and additional life stressors of school and family life. I help people navigate how to manage it all. Utilizing mind and body based approaches, I will help you learn what it is you need to find healing, balance, and ease through it all.
Do you find yourself having strong emotional responses to past events? Are you struggling to “Let go” or “Move on” from painful experiences? A typical Enduring Strength Counseling client is someone between the ages of 20-35, possibly a member of the military community, who answered yes to the questions above and is ready to begin their mental health journey but do not want to deal with the constraints and limitations of insurance companies. My clients pay for services directly and feel greater comfort and peace of mind to engage in counseling knowing that their care will not be denied.
Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals improve their mental health and gain a sense of well-being . Often times, we aren't living in the present. We're either stressed, depressed, anxious, too busy looking back on the past, or lost in thought with hopes for the future. This leaves us losing the ability to enjoy the present, and the present is what ends up creating our future, as well as creating the moments we will one day look back on. Many of us could benefit from gaining the ability to be present, as well as gaining the ability to see other perspectives and regulate emotions and thoughts. Together we will address the challenges you face, uncover your strengths, and cultivate new coping skills to help you navigate life's difficulties while gaining a greater ability to celebrate and appreciate life's successes. Through therapy, I aim to equip my clients with the tools to regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, be more mindful, and effectively cope. It is truly an honor to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where individuals can openly express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I’m excited you’ve decided to start this journey and I look forward to providing the guidance and help you deserve.

Adjusting to a challenging academic and social environment is an exciting and often daunting prospect , drawing upon one's resilience and creative faculties. I especially enjoy working with energetic and open minded clients just setting out on life's journey. I have been a practicing psychologist in Boone, NC for almost 20 years. I have worked with college students in various capacities throughout most of my career. Therapy is like taking a class on yourself. You are the expert on you. My goal is to hold a safe, comfortable space for you to feel heard and seen and to know that your feelings are valid. I believe you/we all innately have the strength and ability to endure, overcome, heal and grow. I want to help instill confidence and motivation to support your on journey. To help you feel grounded and find ways to tap into your inner strength. By gaining insight into the connection between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors you will be able to improve you mental health and reach your behavioral goals. Together we will identify goals and create a plan to achieve them. In therapy you will learn coping skills and strategies to navigate difficult situations and emotions. At times this means processing through past events, current experiences and traumas. Other times, there is a need to focus on tangible action-oriented goals. To learn concrete strategies to manage the demands of life, cope with stress and regulate mood. Perhaps this is even a time to challenge yourself as you are growing and becoming the version of yourself you hope to be. Transitioning into school as a freshman, as well as into your post graduate life, can be hard to navigate. You are faced with various demands: academic, social, financial and otherwise. I take a multi-systemic approach to treatment to ensure you are fully utilizing resources and supports (on campus and in the community) that may help you along. My areas of expertise include but are not limited to: anxiety and panic; depression, bipolar disorders and mood dysregulation; substance use and abuse; assessment, treatment and management of adult ADHD; grief; management of chronic medical conditions that are co-morbid to mental health issues; developmental transitions; college student wellness. I take an eclectic approach to therapeutic interventions built on the foundation of a strong therapeutic alliance. Using a strengths based, multi-systemic and holistic approach; I draw from interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI).

A lot of the students I work with are used to being the “put together” one. The responsible one. The one who pushes through. But behind the scenes, they’re exhausted. Many are dealing with complicated relationships with food, body image, or perfectionism while also navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, or chronic illness. From the outside it might look like they’re managing fine, but internally it can feel like a constant battle with their own mind or body. A lot of my clients are thoughtful and self-aware, but tired of feeling stuck in the same patterns or feeling like they’re constantly fighting themselves. In therapy with me, the goal isn’t to shame or rush you into change. Instead, we slow things down and get curious about what your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are actually trying to communicate. From there, we work on building coping tools, creating more flexibility in patterns that feel rigid or overwhelming, and rebuilding trust with your body. You don’t have to come in with everything figured out. Many of my clients start therapy feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or even skeptical — and that’s completely okay. Therapy is just a space where you can show up honestly and start making sense of things at your own pace.
