I have 15 years of experience as an LCSW-C supporting, educating and holding emotional space for young adults and their families. I have post graduate training with a Certification in Child and Adolescent Therapy, a Certification in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and am a Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional. I am also trained as an ADHD Coach for college students and young adults. I am a Certified Mental Coach for high school and college athletes. I work collaboratively with young adults and their families dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, family conflicts, sexuality, and childhood traumas. I partner with students and schools to support clients with ADHD and educational issues. I believe in meeting the client where they are and looking for therapeutic strategies that fit their lifestyle and background. Mental health is very personal, based on client experiences. I see therapy as a tool to help client identify strengths and teach effective coping strategies and skills they can apply to their lives now and for future struggles. I consider myself fortunate to be able to work in a profession that I truly love and I consider a privilege to be invited into my clients' inner lives, and to travel this journey with them through healing, change, and self-empowerment. I see therapy as a process of identifying strengths and struggles and teaching clients to harness their own power.

Bardwell Behavioral represents a diverse staff with experience treating eating disorders, substance use disorders, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, as well as a wide array of other life stressors and mental illnesses. Our goal is to provide a safe space for all to heal – we look forward to getting to know you and working together.
I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist, and I feel privileged to help those struggling with mental health issues. I understand that there is still a stigma surrounding mental health, and I strive to ensure my patients feel understood during our appointments. Building rapport and getting to know my patients beyond just their diagnoses is central to my approach to care. I have experience treating patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, emergency departments, and medical hospitals. I believe that the best outcomes usually occur when medications and therapy are used together. While I enjoy treating all psychiatric illnesses, I have a particular affinity for personality disorders and substance use disorders. I also have experience addressing mental health issues during and after pregnancy. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Biology at Laurentian University, followed by medical training at Ross University School of Medicine. I then completed my psychiatry residency, serving as chief resident, at the University of North Dakota in Fargo.

We treat patients of all ages and diagnoses in all 50 states, and we accept most insurance plans.
The road to self discovery is scary, and you are taking the first steps in seeking out the right therapist for you. It’s an important investment and you want to make sure you find just the right connection. My approach is deeply personal. Working with each person to learn and identify how they are impacted by the stories of their life and their history. In doing so, we are able to bring out what is truly possible. I believe strongly in the power of our stories. From a very young age, we all start learning things about ourselves and our world. These “life lessons” start to turn into the stories we repeat to ourselves over and over again. They become who we are. Those stories are not always nice and they hold us back. But most importantly, they are often not true! They are the stories we created when we were young and we have retold them to ourselves over and over again in a weird game of telephone with one player.
I enjoy working with college students, and have experience treating a wide variety of issues. These include, but are not limited to: Anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment problems, self-esteem difficulties, and family conflict. I also have a special interest and training background in PTSD and trauma-related difficulties. I am EMDR-trained. My style is warm and collaborative, and I use an individualized approach with each client. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to gain support, insight, and tools to guide you on your mental health journey. I am an ideal choice for students who go to school in Massachusetts but permanently reside in New Hampshire (or vice versa). I am licensed in both states, which means that I can meet with you when you are at school and when you are home on breaks. I am an ally and safe space to members of the LGTBQIA community, racial/ethnic minorities, and those impacted by poverty. I am aware of how systemic oppression, systems of privilege, and all forms of prejudice impact human functioning. However, I do not pretend to be an expert in these areas, and I am not personally a member of the above-mentioned communities. I welcome any questions about me or my practice. Please feel free to reach out at carahgarsopsyd@gmail.com or 603-577-5551 x3.

I offer 60 minute sessions and specialize in half day therapy retreats. A therapy retreat is an efficient and comprehensive pathway to heal trauma in consecutive days instead of over many years in weekly therapy, and can accelerate symptom relief. I utilize evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Progressive Counting, and the Flash Technique to effectively heal the roots of distressing emotions and negative beliefs stored within traumatic memories. I bring my passion for somatic psychology, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, and attachment theory to my therapeutic approach. I invite my clients to offer a gentle curiosity to all parts of themselves, so that together we may attune to what the body, heart, and spirit are most needing to restore wholeness. I offer Telehealth and in-person sessions at my Portland Old Port office. I welcome the opportunity to hear from you to determine if my services are a good fit for what you are seeking.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or like you're carrying invisible weight no one else can see? Whether you're juggling classes, navigating relationships, questioning your identity, or dealing with family or cultural pressure, you don’t have to go through it alone. I’m Tsuki, and I specialize in working with students who often feel like they don’t quite “fit the mold.” Many of the students I support are BIPOC, neurodivergent (ADHD, Autistic, AuDHD), and LGBTQIA+, and they're trying to make sense of who they are while moving through complex systems that weren’t built with them in mind. In therapy, your whole self is welcome — even the parts that feel messy or misunderstood. I offer online therapy in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese and bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to our work together. Therapy with me is collaborative, flexible, and always grounded in respect for who you are and what you need. If you’re looking for support with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, identity questions, or just feeling stuck — I’m here to help.
I have been a mental health counselor for 20 years. I enjoy the process of helping others help themselves. I trust together we can improve your overall life experience. One of the most important things to be looked at is how you interpret experiences and understanding the influence on your moods. Using a journal is a tool to improve your outcomes in therapy. I look forward to meeting you either online or in-person at my home office.
My name is Dr. Cara Barbierri and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in both Connecticut and Massachusetts with over 15 years experience helping students and their families seek meaningful change. I believe that individuals are resilient and that people need support and effective tools to succeed. I also believe that our past relationships fuel our current attachments and that gaining insight and understanding is the catalyst to change. My goal is for you to feel respected and simultaneously challenged and held accountable.
As a licensed therapist with more than 25 years of experience, I specialize in helping students navigate the emotional toll of academic anxiety, ADHD, and learning differences. Feeling overwhelmed in school often masks deeper struggles with emotional regulation, stress, and procrastination. Together, we will work through these challenges using proven therapeutic strategies, allowing clients to lower their anxiety, build lasting resilience, and truly thrive.
Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed by anxiety, upsetting intrusive thoughts, or past emotional wounds that continue to affect their relationships, confidence, and sense of safety. They are ready for relief, connection, and to feel more in control of their lives. I help clients by providing specialized treatments for anxiety conditions, OCD, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), perfectionism, and the deep echoes of trauma—from relational and intergenerational wounds to betrayal trauma. I believe therapy can help us grow, even through deep pain. My role is to help you approach yourself with curiosity and compassion while guiding you toward healing and meaningful change. If this feels like the right fit for you then let's connect.
