Therapists for college students near Boston, MA
Tired of briefly feeling a little better after talking to your therapist each week, while not really making any sustained progress? Feeling like you two don't really have (or haven’t even discussed) a plan to address what brought you in for therapy? If you answered “yes,” to either question, you unfortunately are not alone. From day one, a key part of treatment at T.O.P.+ Behavioral Health is developing a collaborative plan incorporating your goals and strengths. My therapy approach is warm and validating, while teaching you evidence-based tools to increase awareness of what’s keeping you stuck and to make changes to get unstuck and live more aligned with what is important to you. I offer both specialized and more general individual therapy services. As an expert in exposure and response prevention (ERP) and habit reversal training, I am proud to offer the first-line and gold-standard treatments for OCD and tic disorders respectively. In addition, I am an expert in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure therapy for panic disorder, social anxiety, phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder. Other specialty offerings include CBT for depression, adult ADHD, insomnia, and binge eating disorder. A significant portion of my practice also involves working with college students experiencing normal, but difficult, issues that often show up during college years and transitions, such as test anxiety, difficulties making or navigating friendships, trouble concentrating, self-esteem or identity issues, or relationship difficulties. In addition to the standard individual therapy services described above, T.O.P. + also proudly offers intensive therapy services for OCD (i.e., ERP), Tourette’s & Tic Disorders (i.e., HRT), Panic Disorder/Agoraphobia (i.e., CBT) and Specific Phobia (i.e., CBT). Our Accelerated ERP, HRT, and CBT Programs consist of longer sessions (e.g., two to four hours per session) compared with a standard 50-minute session. In addition, most Accelerated Programs meet more frequently (e.g., three to five times per week) compared with the standard once-weekly therapy session, allowing one to finish a dose of treatment in one to three weeks. Accelerated program sessions can take place in-office, via telehealth, in the community, or through a combination of these settings. Our Accelerated Programs are great 1) for those with severe symptoms for which meeting once weekly might not be adequate to manage concerns; 2) for individuals wanting to finish a dose of treatment in a significantly shorter period of time (i.e., Great for Winter or Spring Break); 3) in many instances to help create momentum, achieve symptom improvement and reach therapy goals more quickly; 4) save money by receiving a discount compared with T.O.P. +’s hourly rates for standard individual therapy. Contact Dr. Bowe to learn more about specific offerings and pricing of Accelerated Programs. I do not currently accept insurance for standard individual therapy or for any of the Accelerated Programs. For standard individual therapy, however, I offer a $50/session discount for in-person appointments at my downtown Northampton office which has ample free parking and is accessible by public transportation. An additional $10/session discount is offered by payment by cash/check for standard individual therapy appointments. These two discounts do not apply to Accelerated Programs. As noted above, however, there is a separate discounted hourly rate for Accelerated Programs which ends up being less than the hourly rate for standard individual therapy even after in-office and cash/check-payment discounts are taken into account. Please also be aware that many insurances also offer out-of-network benefits, and may reimburse some of your expenses for standard individual therapy sessions when you submit paperwork which I can provide you with. For a free 15- to 30-minute initial consultation, please call or email me to learn more about how I might be able to help you.

Welcome! Are you feeling overwhelmed? The world is swirling around you while you struggle to catch a breath? You are not alone and I am here to help. Many different scenarios, problems, conflicts, and trauma can cause us to feel like we are no longer ourselves and cause a sense of anxiety and dissonance with the life we want to lead. Trying to sort through the thoughts in our head can be difficult and having a supportive therapist can help. I bring humor and realism to each client relationship. I am an interactive therapist who will be your cheerleader and will help hold you accountable for changes you wish to make so you can thrive.
Life is full of challenges and difficult moments. I believe that as human beings, we are wired to deal with our pain in ways that leave us feeling lost, exhausted, and hopeless. We may lose sight of our purpose, our values, our loved ones, and the many other aspects of life that make us whole and content. With humility and compassion, I aim to support you in dropping the struggle and finding new ways to achieve the well-being you deserve. You don’t have to figure it out alone, and I'm sure we'll share some laughs along the way. I utilize a psychodynamic lens which focuses on the unconscious forces that often drive our emotions and actions; including underlying desires and anxieties that are present deep within the mind yet influence personality and behavior. In addition, I will integrate CBT and DBT with the goal of reducing unwanted behaviors. If we work on ourselves and learn to care for ourselves, we can then be present and capable of helping those around us. I’d love to hear from you. I am best reached over e-mail or through my website.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not like yourself lately, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. I’m a nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, and I believe the best care happens when we work together. As a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, I look at your mental and physical health as parts of the same, connected story—not separate issues. In our work together, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard. I take a holistic and individualized approach, helping you understand what’s behind your symptoms, explore treatment options in clear, practical terms, and build strategies that fit your life and goals. I’ve supported people from late adolescence through older adulthood as they navigate life’s transitions. I have worked with young adults facing career transitions and the stress that often comes with major life changes. I also help individuals manage depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and mood disorders. Whether you’re continuing a treatment plan that’s already helping or seeking psychiatric care for the first time, I’ll meet you where you are. My goal is to help you feel respected, understood, and empowered to take an active role in your care.

Do you feel exhausted from trying to hold everything together? Maybe you have always been the responsible one or the person others rely on. You pushed through stress, anxiety, and family challenges because you felt like you had to. At first it seemed manageable, but now the pressure feels heavier and harder to carry. On the outside you appear confident and put together. Inside you might feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or worried that you cannot keep this up much longer. Wanting a break does not mean you are failing. It means you are human. I’m Sara, and I help students who are tired of perfectionism, constant pressure, and the weight of expectations. I work with people who want healthier relationships, better communication, and support as they process past experiences that still affect them today. My background includes ACT, CBT, TF-CBT, Brainspotting, and group therapy training, which allows me to tailor our work to what you need. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, honest, and real environment where you can finally let your guard down. I show up as myself so you can feel comfortable showing up as yourself too. You deserve a space where you can put down the pressure you have been carrying and focus on feeling grounded, supported, and hopeful. I am here to help you get there.
Healing doesn’t have to feel so heavy all the time. Life can be tough, but your therapy journey doesn't have to be. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or just trying to understand what on earth is going on, I’m here to help with compassion, curiosity, and (yes!) even a dash of humor. My goal is to help you feel heard, empowered, and equipped with the tools to create a life you truly enjoy. Along the way, we’ll celebrate the small wins, unpack the big stuff, and maybe even laugh a little. Growth is serious work, but it doesn’t have to feel that way the entire time.

Hello! I’m Katherine. Therapy is a chance to have someone outside of your daily life help you process and navigate your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I aim to create a warm, welcoming space where you can openly discuss even the toughest parts of your life. I have experience in many areas, but I especially love working with life transitions and changes, relationship dynamics, and self-discovery. My goal is to help you find your voice and create a life that feels best for you. In our work together, I hope you not only find solutions to whatever brought you to therapy but also learn more about yourself and how you want your life to be. We’ll go at your pace, with you taking the lead. After all, this is your story. If this sounds like what you’re looking for in therapy, I’d love to start working with you!
