I am a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts, specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents and young adults. I aim to provide a culturally responsive, non-judgmental, yet direct approach to therapy, with the goal of helping my clients find confidence and purpose in not only their strengths, but their weaknesses. I work with clients and families to address life’s challenges by helping them to examine interpersonal relationships, process difficult thoughts and emotions, explore healthy coping strategies and find tangible solutions. I have been trained in a variety of modalities for the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief and loss and trauma-related disorders. I utilize an eclectic, client-centered approach, drawing from techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Strength-based Relational Therapy. Although reaching out for support can feel daunting, I urge you to see the strength in your vulnerability. You are choosing to take time for YOU and your emotional wellness. I am currently accepting new patients, via telemedicine. Please feel free to send me an email to set up a complimentary 15-minute consultation.

If balancing academic/work pressure and your personal life is leaving you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out, I am here to help. Many clients I work with enter therapy feeling stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, people-pleasing, or pushing themselves at the expense of their well-being. Perfectionism and self-criticism often make it even harder to slow down or feel satisfied. I specialize in therapy with college/graduate students and young professionals struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, early career stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I also work with survivors of sexual trauma and individuals who want to better understand how past experiences continue to shape their emotions, relationships, and sense of self. My approach is warm, collaborative, and values-focused. After working together, my clients often have greater self-confidence, increased insight into how past experiences shape current patterns, and a more compassionate relationship with themselves. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with evidence-based behavioral approaches such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, along with emotion-focused, self-compassion, and strengths-based perspectives. We'll explore practical tools to move forward from unhelpful patterns so that you can live more authentically. I am here to support you in understanding yourself with greater insight and compassion, easing anxiety’s influence on your wellbeing, and building a life that reflects your values rather than fear or pressure. I offer telehealth therapy for busy academic and professional lives. If this sounds like you, I invite you to explore my website and reach out for a consultation. I see clients in Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, and Colorado. I am also PSYPACT authorized to see clients in 40 additional states. *Note: I am in-network with several insurances in Massachusetts and Colorado, and I am out-of-network in New York, New Hampshire, and in PSYPACT states. I provide a superbill for my clients to request reimbursement from their insurance. Please reach out with any questions; I'm happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.

A working machine is comprised of many cogs and gears that must interlock seamlessly in order to function. Our minds are not all that different. One faulty belief can throw our whole center off balance. That is why counseling can be beneficial. Gaining a new perspective is the same as getting a realignment. Counseling can be a life-altering journey as it offers a judgement-free atmosphere to explore our deepest fears, sorrows, and triumphs. The sharing of these experiences can open our minds up to new ideas and perspectives that we may be struggle to uncover on our own. Stephanie Hunt is a licensed mental health counselor practicing in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Stephanie has a straight-forward but empathic approach to helping clients navigate through problems. She has extensive experience working in both individual and group settings. She also teaches undergraduate courses in human services and psychology. Stephanie's specialties include; depression, anxiety, identity issues, trauma and addiction. The bulk of her professional work has been focused on working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I enjoy working with a wide variety of college students, individuals grieving pet loss, and those in technical fields throughout Massachusetts, given my own background as a software engineer. I also specialize in working with individuals on the autism spectrum, including neurodivergent adults. My approach comes from a strengths based perspective. I believe that individuals have the ability to make significant life changes by identifying the sources of their current difficulties, understanding why their coping methods may have made good sense at the time, and learning new ways of being in the world that fit with who they are now and that support their growth and heart's desire. My role is to provide a supportive, trust-based environment and help individuals create the lives they wish to live. I use a largely psychodynamic perspective, often integrating mindfulness and cognitive behavioral approaches. I'm interested in research areas of positive psychology, the neurobiology of connection, adaptive solitude, therapeutic journal writing, and the role of nutrition and fitness on mood, mental health, and well-being. I look forward to meeting you!

Shoreline Wellness Center places a focus on talk therapy (psychotherapy) to help patients better manage the stress they encounter in their daily life. Working with a therapist has many benefits, such as coping with feelings, facing and solving problems, or changing behavioral patterns that are leading to some of your symptoms. In therapy, we don’t just talk about problems. The main goal is to develop a reasonable and doable solution. Sometimes you may have “homework” to complete for your therapist. This may include something like tracking your moods throughout the day, journaling about your thoughts, going out of your way to be social, or joining in activities that caused you to feel anxious in the past. Your therapist may even suggest for you to try to look at things differently or to learn new skills to use in your everyday life. Therapy focuses on current and past thoughts, feelings, and issues. Both are important, as they may very well be connected in some way. Discussing your challenges and having an open dialogue is the key to finding the solution to help your present and prepare for your future.
