Are you searching for a genuine, deep healing experience on your path to wholeness that combines modern and traditional methods? I work with people of all backgrounds who have experienced trauma, depression, and/or anxiety to access their innate resilience and healing. Trauma can include any experience overwhelming to the nervous system. I work with my clients to create an environment built on trust, safety, compassion, and positive regard in order to develop the capacity to expand empathy, resilience, and self-confidence. Many clients find it helpful to anchor our work in the present moment using mindfulness breathing. I am well-trained in a diverse and integrated set of strategies including EMDR, emotionally-focused psychodynamic processing, CBT, DBT, group therapy, Jungian dream analysis, mindfulness, and relational techniques. Finally, I employ advanced harm reduction skills to treat substance misuse including advanced motivational interviewing skills. Complimenting you on your natural strengths even in the midst of life’s challenges is crucial to fostering hope. The bedrock of my professional work is genuineness, professionalism, and helping you find your natural resources. I invite you to reach out by phone or email for a free consultation! Licensed in NY, NJ, CT, MA, VT, ME, and FL.
I am currently accepting self-pay clients! During therapy sessions, I hold space for people facing all types of life experiences that encompass our collective human experience. Some key areas that I support individuals with are finding relief from anxiety through the cultivation of self-regulation and nervous system support, navigating major life transitions, healing from traumatic events, past or present, and exploring ways of living that are in alignment with one's true desires. I strive to help individuals build a relationship with themselves that are rooted in compassion and self-acceptance. As our imagination becomes activated and absorbed in the freedom of art and play, our linear or rational thinking processes of labeling and making judgments are temporarily suspended. This temporary suspension allows us to access our intuition (heart, center, wisdom, spirit, true self) and deepen awareness of our thoughts, feelings and experiences in life.

Are you struggling to find ways to begin living a happier, secure, and fulfilled life or maybe a better handle on the current situation that keeps standing in the way of your goals? Let me help you through this process of seeking and promoting that self-love and examine your behaviors and how the behaviors of others impact you. You are in control! You have the strength, and you will have the answer! Life's too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. As a therapist, I believe in providing a space where you will feel secure and safe to share those thoughts that continue spinning in your head throughout the day. The way you form relationships with others, or your partner is a reflection of the healed or unhealed wounds you are carrying from your childhood experience. Our childhood wounds and conditions influence us more than we think. Healing these wounds helps us improve our self-worth, our standards, and our boundaries within ourselves and others. Sometimes you need someone who will listen, challenge and understand what you are going through. Let's work on building that self-confidence, self-love, and determination that will propel you to be a better version of yourself.

I partner with individuals offering compassionate, trauma-informed care that promotes healing and personal growth. Partnering as a relational helper, I hope to expand from problem-focused stories to those of strength and resilience, matched with empowerment and a clearer sense of agency, working together to create the desired changes. I have experience working with individuals, from diverse backgrounds. My areas of work have included but are not limited to struggles around anxiety, depression, identity concerns, self-esteem issues, trauma, life transitions, relational issues, and daily stressors. I use an eclectic approach, drawing from various practices such as relational therapy, narrative therapy, client-centered therapy, attachment theory, some features of dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamic framework, and I approach therapy through a mindfulness, justice-orientated, culturally sensitive, queer-affirmative and a trauma informed lens. I believe in a relational process in which finding a therapist that is a "good fit" as the groundwork for a supportive, transformative process. I believe that every individual can examine their life's journey and own their story; all while strengthening self-compassion and working to navigate who and how to be in relationships. Stepping into the therapeutic process is the first movement towards self-discovery and growth! "Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do" -Brene' Brown

Accepting new clients in Rhode Island and in Massachusetts. My name is Meg and I am a licensed mental health counselor, providing trauma-informed, person-centered therapy through a feminist lens. I have a performing arts background (theatre, music, dance), which helps inform my counseling work. In our therapeutic relationship, you are the driver and I am the GPS; I will help you get to your destination faster, and will re-route as needed, but you are in control of the car. I work with individuals through a variety of issues including, but not limited to; depression; anxiety, self esteem & expression; body dysmorphia & disordered eating, past & current trauma, sexual trauma. I believe in HAES (health at every size); I practice LGBTQIA2S+ allyship, sex positivity, anti-racism, anti-bigotry, and anti-ableism.
My approach is based on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) that takes client goals and utilizes techniques to accomplish the desired objectives. It is a collaborative, reality-based method informed by mindfulness and life-coaching strategies. This is a holistic approach and can last for 12 sessions or longer based on client’s choice. I encourage and assign homework between sessions and am always open to new ideas that will assist in your growth. I hope to work myself out of a job by sharing treatments and tools that equip you to cope with the daily living of life.. I provide tele-therapy services. Counseling is accessed through a secure, encrypted, HIPPA-compliant video conferencing portal. This method has many advantages including: convenience, eliminating gas/parking costs, time savings, no travel stress, and the lowering of one’s carbon footprint.
We all face challenges. When you do, it's wise to consult with someone who listens well and can help you identify the problems, develop strategies, and guide and encourage you to implement them. I have been trained in psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and systems-centered methods. I often draw upon wisdom, humor, and science to facilitate positive change. Whatever the challenge -- emotional, relational, or other -- we'll address it together.
Hi! I'm Kade- a queer, nonbinary therapist that got bored of doing traditional therapy. Now, I work with clients in the outdoors (think: walk and talk therapy, or hanging out by a creek, or making nature art) or offer to bring in art and nature into our office or virtual sessions. I primarily work with LGBTQIA+ clients as well as those figuring out life after leaving or reconsidering religion. Many of my other clients are navigating life changes that feel chaotic or are just trying to give therapy "another shot". My ultimate goal for my clients is for them to get the support they're needing. So, I'll invite you to check in about what's working or not, and will work to co-create an approach to therapy based on your own needs. Therapy should never be a "one size fits all" kind of thing.
