Greetings! Secular psychotherapist here. Is taking care of everyone but yourself breaking you down? Tired of being called “co-dependent”? Do you have beliefs that are different from others and feel a little “off”? Are you becoming more and more anxious or depressed? You're not alone. I help those looking for a professional confidant and can help with processing difficult transitions and even traumas. Maybe the transition you are going through is attempting to go back to school after a divorce, juggling taking care of aging parents while raising a family of your own, etc. Or perhaps you are having difficulty setting boundaries with a toxic person in your life. Perhaps you are having difficulty with relationships due to a past that seems ever so present. My therapeutic style is empathetic and interpersonal. I use evidence-based talk therapy (Acceptance & Commitment, Narrative, etc.) and mindfulness techniques. I believe in our getting to know one another well over time. I welcome diversity in my practice, including those with other than traditional orientations: religious, sexual, gender, or otherwise. In my work with adolescents and young adults I enjoy guiding as they learn to identify and express new emotions in a health way. I have a passion for helping them process strong emotions and overwhelming pressures they often encounter as they journey to adulthood. It is my desire to help identify strengths, re-frame perception and modify behaviors to facilitate long term changes.

It is my goal as a therapist to help each person become their best self. I help individuals facing personal challenges and work to form a pathway to uncover solutions. I bring a solid understanding of everyday challenges to our sessions. We will work together in order for you to gain growth and inner strength. I strongly believe in the relationship between the therapist and client, and treat each situation with the utmost care. Mutual trust is imperative to successful therapy.
Thank you for considering me to be part of your journey. My name is Allia (she/her), and for my clients, I provide a safe and healing place to grow. For the past four years, I’ve worked as a therapist and advocate for child and adult survivors of abuse and sexual assault. And through this work, I have honed my skills in helping people through trauma, transitions, self-worth issues, and identity. I work with a wide range of clients and survivors and particularly gravitate towards individuals within the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities and young adults. Each person is different and thus, each treatment plan is individualized to meet that person’s needs. And in working together, I will follow your lead and meet you where you are. I look forward to working together!
Hi! I’m currently accepting new clients and referrals for teens and adults (13+) who are dealing with anxiety, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, life stress… or just that constant feeling of “wow, this is a lot.” If you’ve ever asked yourself, “why am I like this?” while overthinking a text for 45 minutes, replaying conversations like a highlight reel, or ending up in the same situation with different people—yeah, you’re in the right place. And if childhood experiences are still popping up in your adult life like an uninvited guest who refuses to leave… that’s more common than you think. Therapy with me is a real, no-judgment space where we can unpack what’s going on, connect the dots, and actually start shifting patterns—not just analyzing them at 2 a.m. There’s room for honesty, growth, and some humor along the way (because sometimes your brain really does wake up and choose chaos for no reason). My style is laid-back, supportive, and direct. I take a person-centered approach, so we go at your pace—whether you’re thriving, surviving, or somewhere in between. Whether it’s overthinking, relationship stress, family dynamics, or trying to figure out who you are and what you want (no small task), we’ll work together to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control. No pressure. No perfection. Just a space where you can show up as you are. Insurance & Payment Options • Self-pay • Blue Cross Blue Shield • Aetna • United Healthcare / Optum

At Taylor’s Touch of Clarity, we work best with college students who feel overwhelmed, stressed, or uncertain—even if everything looks “fine” on the outside. Many of the students we support are balancing classes, work, family expectations, relationships, and the pressure to figure out their future, all at the same time. You may be experiencing constant stress, anxiety that makes it hard to focus, low confidence, or feeling stuck in your own head. Some students come to us feeling burned out, disconnected, or unsure of who they are becoming. Others are navigating depression, self-esteem challenges, relationship concerns, or major life transitions. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and support is available. Our practice is built on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where students can openly talk about what they’re going through without feeling rushed, labeled, or misunderstood. We focus on meeting you where you are and tailoring care to your individual needs, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. At Taylor’s Touch of Clarity, counseling is a collaborative process. We believe progress happens best when clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their growth. Our clinicians work alongside students to build practical coping skills, increase emotional awareness, and strengthen confidence in both academic and personal areas of life. Using a client-centered and strengths-based approach, we help students identify their values, recognize their strengths, and develop tools to manage stress, anxiety, mood challenges, and relationship concerns. Our goal is not just to help you get through college, but to support you in building skills and self-understanding that will serve you well beyond it.
Do you every feel like puzzle piece that does not fit? Or that you are the black sheep in your community? I can relate to the social pressures to be strong and the need to be heard and seen in this world. I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space that allows you to reconnect with yourself and find creative solutions to reach your goals. I am a licensed therapist with 7 years of experience in the field, and have worked with a diverse range of clients. My clinical style is a mixture of client centered and existentialism, and I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can authentically explore your thoughts and feelings. We will take a therapeutic journey towards mental and emotional wellness where I will help nurture an understanding of your challenges and support you in developing strategies to overcome them.
I believe that mental health is a journey of piecing together multiple working parts, and I hope to be a part of that process with you. About Me I hold a PhD in Social Work and I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving the states of Georgia and Maryland. I received my PhD from the University of Alabama, my MSW from the University of Georgia, and BA from The University of Alabama. I have multiple years of clinical experience among various populations (children, teens, families, and young adults), various backgrounds, and in numerous settings (residential, inpatient, outpatient, private practice). I primarily work with ages 6-25. I also currently hold an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Social Work. I am someone with whom people generally feel at ease and comfortable, which is an important part of what makes therapy work. My initial goal within the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with just that: a positive, safe, and comfortable place, where you feel at ease to talk about things that matter to you. Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my pets, finding challenging hikes, cooking/baking, going to the beach/finding water, gardening, exploring the city, and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy picking up new creative projects and DIYs! Who I Help & What I Help With Who I Can Help Children (6-12) Teens (13-17) Emerging & Young Adults (18-29) Adult Couples What I Can Help With Relationship issues or losing a relationship Adjusting to and navigating life transitions Improving unhealthy/disruptive habits and behaviors Feeling sad or depressed Trauma and loss Feeling overwhelmed or anxious Feeling alone or disconnected from others Experiencing stress at work, school, or home Conflict resolution Learning to value and love yourself My Approach Types of Therapies It’s not uncommon for someone to enter therapy a bit nervous and with no clear sense of where to start – they simply want things to change for the better and to feel like themselves again. You are the expert of your own experience, but it’s easy to lose your way and feel lost when in distress. I will meet you wherever you are and help you piece things back to a sense of what normal feels like for you. The best approach is one that works for you, so I may draw on several different approaches to therapy, all of which have been shown by research to help individuals reduce stress, gain clarity, and make changes in their lives. They include but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Person-Centered Therapy Narrative Therapy Culturally Sensitive Therapy Services & Payment At this time, all sessions will be remote/virtual and take place through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. You may choose the mode with which you are most comfortable (i.e., video, phone). This is a great option for accessibility and flexibility, but please be sure to first, consider whether this is the most appropriate option for you at this time. How to Get Started *Ready to get started? Just head to the “Contact Me” tab or the “book appointment” link at the bottom of every page of this website. You can schedule your first appointment on your own and whenever you’re ready with no initial contact required. Please note that I am committed to your privacy. Therefore, please do not include confidential or private information if you choose to email or call. Further and more detailed information will be exchanged through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. I look forward to speaking with you! Types of Sessions Visits with me typically involve the following types of sessions: Intake Session: Assessment & Planning (60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $200) It’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist. For this reason, the first session serves to help you and me decide whether the therapeutic relationship will be the best fit. The intake is also an Assessment and Planning phase, which is focused on learning more in depth about you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. This phase also allows me to begin putting together a plan for future sessions if you are comfortable with moving forward. All follow up sessions after the initial intake session will be considered a regular therapy session. Regular Individual Therapy Session (30-60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $90-$180) Following the Assessment and Planning phase, we’ll decide when and how often to meet. Session time frames depend on your treatment needs and personal circumstances and are guided by the plan we develop together. Please note that 30-minute sessions are private pay only. These sessions may work well for children and adolescents, day-to-day check-ins, more solution-focused sessions, quicker access to therapy, etc. Regular Family Therapy Session With Client (30 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $108, Private Pay Only) When needed, family sessions provide an opportunity to strengthen communication, address relational dynamics, and support your child or adolescent's progress in treatment. These sessions may include parents/guardians, caregivers, and/or siblings depending on the goals we establish together. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Brief Family Therapy Session Without Client (15 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $54, Private Pay Only) These brief check-ins offer a dedicated space for parents and caregivers to share observations, ask questions, and stay connected to their child's therapeutic progress without the client present. They are not a replacement for regular family sessions but rather, serve as a lightweight touchpoint between sessions when needed. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Couples Therapy Session (60 minutes; $216, Private Pay Only) Couples therapy sessions provide a structured space to address relational concerns, improve communication, and work toward shared goals within the relationship. These sessions are designed to support both partners in understanding relational patterns, navigating conflict more effectively, and building a stronger foundation for daily functioning together. Please note that all couples therapy sessions of any length are private pay only. Payment Options In-Network Insurance & Third-Party Payers I currently accept the following insurance plans in Georgia: Aetna Cigna/Evernorth United Healthcare/UBH/Optum Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans I currently accept the following insurance plans in Maryland: Aetna Cigna/Evernorth United Healthcare/UBH/Optum Medicaid/Carelon Behavioral Health Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans This means that if you are enrolled in any of these plans (or potentially any of their subsidiaries), your out-of-pocket expense is limited to your deductible and copay/coinsurance. While I can assist in determining what these costs will be, it may be helpful to ask your insurance provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 2. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *I am currently working to become a provider in network with Anthem as well as any applicable subsidiaries under Anthem in the state of Georgia. I am also currently working to become a provider in network with CareFirst as well as any applicable subsidiaries under CareFirst in the state of Maryland. Private Pay & Out-of-Network Reimbursement I also accept private pay, and if you have another insurance provider, you may also have out-of-network benefits. With this option, your insurance benefits may reimburse the majority of the cost of therapy. With both private pay and out-of-network reimbursement, you will be provided with automatic invoices, statements, and superbills for any needed reimbursements later from your insurance provider. I recommend calling your insurance provider to learn more about how reimbursement works. It may be helpful to ask your provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. Does my plan provide out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services? 2. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 3. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *Lack of insurance coverage, privacy concerns, flexibility, and quicker access to care are only a few of the reasons why one might choose this option. Cancellation Policy All clients are required to have an active credit/debit card on file at the time of scheduling an appointment. For appointment no-shows, last-minute cancellations, or inactive insurance, you will be charged in full regardless of reason. This is necessary, as a time commitment is made and held exclusively for you. You may still apply this fee to future appointments. Contact Me Ready to get started? Just head to the “Contact Me” tab or the “book appointment” link at the bottom of every page of my website.
