Hi! My main goal is always to help my clients to help themselves, so you feel empowered to embrace stress and change as it comes. With experience working in an eating disorder hospital and 7 years working as a therapist in the Athletic Depts at UT Austin and CU Boulder, I've been involved with supporting my clients through the life challenges that high schoolers, young adults, and adults face for my entire professional career. I am EMDR certified and use this to treat trauma, eating disorders, chronic pain, urges in addiction/EDs, and sport performance (both positive reinforcement as well as treating mental blocks). I particularly enjoy teaching tools for navigating anxiety and depressive symptoms, helping to make peace with body image, and supporting mental performance for sport. I also have a passion for supporting perfectionists to expand their view of themselves and learn to release a little of the control that is actually controlling them!
My role in our work together is to help you look deeper into your most pressing problems, and to assist you in working towards solutions that fit your life. I am happy to consult with you for just a few sessions, or to spend more time digging down to the roots of your struggles. I am passionate about helping you get unstuck from difficult patterns or situations, through coaching in relational skills, coping, and emotion regulation. I have seventeen years of experience with psychotherapy and brief therapeutic interventions, in public high schools and at the University of Colorado counseling center, as well as in private practice. I am trained in numerous modalities of treatment (see my website for more info.) I look forward to the opportunity to support you and strategize with you as you move towards a more authentic and grounded way of being in the world. My style is collaborative, warm, and empowering. Give me a call and we can discuss your needs and see whether working together would be a good fit.

I believe in the restorative power of hope. Over the course of my career I have been able to support clients to internalize the belief that they can make change in their lives. From focusing on eliminating inner negative chatter to processing an acute trauma, I strive to create opportunities for the achievement of one's goals. Through partnership, trust and the sharing of knowledge, real movement can occur. There is hope. Licensed as both a mental health and addictions specialist counselor, I work with both individuals and couples. I practice remotely in Colorado and Rhode Island. My practice approach starts with identifying how to begin shifting what isn't providing benefit, with behavioral, cognitive and emotional evolution. This is a strengths-based, collaborative process grounded in trust and respect. I completed my Master of Arts and Master of Education in Psychological Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. My deep professional satisfaction is grounded in the experience of growth and recovery that clients obtain through our efforts. Gen Z and Millennial women are often bombarded with difficult life transitions such as adulting, relationship distress, quarter-life crises, career pursuits, parenting, caregiving, and more. This can be a lot to manage! Societal pressures plus the changing roles of women in this age group require a focused, feminist, and knowledgable approach. It can be tricky searching for the right therapist, so I appreciate you being here in the first place. My approach is fine-tuned, using radical genuineness, to help you learn how to manage these unique stressors while maintaining authenticity and calm. I am practiced in several targeted therapies that meet the needs of women in transition including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). In my personal experience, I have come to view change as the only constant, which is why I find great value in being able to help my clients through significant life transitions. Looking back at the clients I've served over the years, I have been able to find something about every one of them that I admire. I love meeting my clients where they are and seeing how I can support their walk through life in a genuine, non-judgmental, and meaningful way. If this sounds like the right approach for you, feel free to reach out for a phone consult.

My journey into the world of mental health services has come through my own struggles with adoption trauma, addiction, and long-term depression. Such conditions have made me an avid researcher of the human mind and heart, and a passionate experimenter of the means by which we transform both. This research and experimentation has (thankfully) fine-tuned my relationship skills and made me fluent in many languages of internal exploration. The most impactful of all of these have been the practices of meditation and somatic psychotherapy. I have spent nearly twenty years exploring them in depth and I would love to share them with you.
Transformation and healing can be an empowering and a beautiful process. I focus on educating, encouraging, and empowering clients to make positive decisions in their lives. The results of these positive decisions can help clients move closer to realizing their values and goals. I am compassionate, caring, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I accept and embrace differences among each person, and I am committed to helping others achieve their goals to the best of my ability. I provide cognitive and behavioral therapies as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in my sessions. I have been working in the mental health field for 18 years in all levels of care with various populations. I received my Doctor in Psychology (PsyD) degree in 2019 at California Southern University. I attended University of Colorado in Colorado Springs to obtain my Master's degree in Community Counseling in 2009. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Elementary Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2015. “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” - Maya Angelou

Hi there, First and foremost, I'm glad that you're getting support for yourself. Life can be challenging and I think therapy benefits everyone. I work best with clients who are open to a collaborative style as I'm most interested in supporting you, in the way that works for you. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, whether this is your first time in therapy or your 10th.
Sometimes words don't cut it. Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking a safe space to explore your inner world? Art therapy uses tools that take traditional talk therapy to the next level by giving you an embodied experience. The heart of my practice is believing people are their own experts. You are the ONLY you with your exact values, experiences, routines, heartaches, and desires. I want you to feel seen, foster a deeper understanding of your journey, and find answers and solace through your own innate intuition. If you're new to art therapy you may not be aware of how creativity can open new doors of understanding and connection. Sometimes we get stuck on a judgmental message from 1st grade that we aren’t “good” at artmaking. Well, I say forget that! You ARE inherently creative and it’s okay to heal using both the logical AND intuitive sides of your brain. You get to lead at your comfort level and I will authentically support you using tools and techniques (whether open-ended or more structured) to guide you. If you are seeking space to work through an issue you're having, improve self-esteem, cope with anxiety or depression, manage stress, deal with relationship or parenting issues, process trauma, or just vent, consider reaching out to me.
My practice focuses on helping clients with relationship issues, infidelity, and financial therapy. If you are struggling to find your place on campus and feel like an outsider and an imposter, I've been there, and I can help you build stronger connections with those around you and with your own self! My speciality area is helping people better understand their relationship to money and class and understand how their history and feelings around money impact their everyday life on campus and their relationships. If this sounds like you, set up a consultation through my website below. In addition to standard psychotherapy sessions, I offer long therapy sessions called intensives if you have trouble making time for regularly scheduled therapy.
Life can feel overwhelming when you are carrying anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or emotional pain on your own. You may feel stuck, exhausted, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and less alone as we work toward healing and relief together. The Journey to Your Internal Compass Starts with One Step. We cannot control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond. It takes courage to seek help for personal struggles. Therapy is like having a compass. The compass provides a sense of safety for travelers as they know they can rely on it to always point them in the right direction. With a compass—any compass—we can always pause for a moment in time and take stock of where we are so that we can continue to grow and change. All of us must change course from time to time because what we are doing isn’t working. If you are struggling with addiction, alcoholism, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or trauma, allow me the honor to walk alongside you as you take the steps to the authentic you and discover your internal compass. I use evidence-based treatments tailored to individual needs to help clients attain and maintain long-term sobriety, improve relationships and well-being. I offer a safe and confidential environment on telehealth software. Healing happens within relationships and it's crucial you find a therapist you connect with. Call or email me today. Let’s walk this journey together.
