A therapy session with me always starts with you. I want you to feel safe and comfortable as you share your situation. While making that first call to a therapist is difficult, most people feel great relief once they do. My main focus is Women in College, processing their challenges and moving toward who they want to become. My goal for you, is to help you find relief quickly. I work with people facing a variety of challenges, including: Anxiety, Life Transitions, Stress, Conflict, Trauma and Childhood Trauma. I offer support, encouragement, and guidance. Therapy is not about living a stress-free life, but rather learning how to navigate that stress with confidence and skill. The work we do is interactive, and I will encourage you to explore options, opportunities and choices. We will work together to help you create a sense of calm, self-assurance and stability as you navigate your life and the issues that have brought you in to meet with me. In my experience, clients I have done EMDR therapy with have had quicker, more effective and longer lasting results than traditional talk therapy. Release the past, calm the present, and learn to trust your Inner Wisdom! Call or text Tenaya at: 720-440-0080 Telehealth (computer sessions) available.
My approach is grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity to heal, create change, and greatly improve their lives. I strive to create a calm, safe space where we can understand the origins of your challenges, build on your strengths and work toward more effective and fulfilling patterns of living.
I am a mindfulness and body-oriented therapist who specializes in various challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, eating disorders, substance abuse, and developmental issues. I believe that a deep dive into our more painful experiences is less frightening when done in the presence of a loving and non-judgmental therapist. I help people let go of fear and step into their full potential. Together, we will move through your trauma and pain from the past, unearth the parts of yourself that are no longer serving you, and create positive change and movement in your life from this point forward. I work to highlight the strengths and wisdom you already possess that have helped you get here to the present moment. We will practice patience with the parts of you that are still growing while infusing new habits and self-care routines in order to create forward momentum and help you rise into the highest version of yourself.
My specialty is addiction and couples counseling. I also offer counseling for anxiety, depression and life transitions. Recovery from addiction is not straight forward. Different people need different solutions. I have experience in all realms of recovery. I can offer you a trusting, healing, judgment free space where you can be completely honest. I practice contemplative psychotherapy, which means you own and accept all parts of yourself. Once you see the complexity of your human experience, you can understand this complexities in others, clearing the way for letting go, and ultimate healing. If you are seeking a therapist who will honor your unique journey, respect your autonomy, and support your innate ability to heal, I would be honored to accompany you on your path towards growth, well-being, and self-discovery. Together, we can create a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and empowered to embrace the fullness of your authentic self.
I offer therapy for students dealing with: depression, anxiety, grief, and relationship issues, and EMDR for those recovering from traumatic and life disturbing experiences. I also teach practical skills utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy on mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. We often seek therapy when we're ready for change and part of our life has become unbalanced. A feeling of discontent, depression, or anxiety may have lasted a lifetime, or may have been initiated by a transitional change, such as loss of a relationship or career, or a yearning to grow beyond where we have been stuck. The crux of what I do is help you integrate the various parts that make up your whole being: your emotional, mental, physical and spiritual selves. I use a variety of methods to help facilitate this process, validated by latest neuroscience research. My work is founded on the notion that we are already whole, wise and compassionate. My services aim to help you reconnect with your innate sense of goodness and wellbeing. By beginning to integrate the various aspects of your being, you will begin to trust your natural capacity to thrive.

Pamela’s approach to counseling is strength-based, humanistic, relational, and mind/body-centered. She focuses on working with the nervous system as a way to work towards emotional regulation. Before coming to Naropa she spent five years teaching yin, restorative, and trauma informed yoga in the Boston area. Through her own personal practice as well as teaching yoga, her curiosity around the healing powers of the mind-body connection grew.
