Dr. Miller has been practicing privately as a Clinical Psychologist for 20 years. Prior to becoming licensed as a psychologist, Dr. Miller served on staff at Rady Children's Hospital's world-renowned Chadwick Center for Children and Families. Dr. Miller earned her Masters and Doctoral training from the California School of Professional Psychology-San Diego, specializing in youth, families, and trauma. Dr. Miller received her B.A. in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, majoring in Developmental Psychology. Dr. Miller's professional and personal interests are in Trauma-Sensitive and Trauma-Informed Treatment, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, General Stress Disorders, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Meditation, Depressive and Anxiety Disorders. While she is specially trained to treat youth, she welcomes clients of all ages who are suffering from depressive and anxiety disorders, trauma (remote/recent), life transitions, individual and families dealing with the disease of addiction, and those seeking personal growth. Dr. Miller has extensive experience working with military families, active duty and retired service members, and is trained to provide specialized treatment to veterans suffering from PTSD. While Dr. Miller's treatment approaches are tailored to each individual, her interventions are rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Humanistic Psychology, and Insight Oriented Therapy. Dr. Miller strives to provide trauma-sensitive and culturally sensitive treatment in an effort to hold a safe space for clients to trust and allow their stories to be heard and appreciated. Dr. Miller's mindfulness training began as a participant in an 8-week MBSR course at UC San Diego. Since that time she has followed this journey of mindfulness training and become a Certified MBSR Teacher at UCSD's Center for Mindfulness where she has facilitated over 30, 8-week mindfulness courses. She is currently in training to become a Certified Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher. On a personal note, Dr. Miller loves learning--reading, listening to books and podcasts, and browsing the internet in search of inspiration. She also finds immense value in slowing down, meditating daily, naps, and practicing gratitude for all the good. She especially likes spending time at home with her husband and children, her pets Barney, Goose, Bubbs & Luna, or with a good book. May We All Be Healthy May We All Be Safe May We All Be At Peace May We All Be Happy May We All Be Free From Suffering

I obtained my masters from Pepperdine University and I began my career in community services. My approach is straight forward and empathic. I identify as a first gen, cis gender Latina of Mexican descent. I offer EMDR, and also incorporate somatic interventions, a systemic framework, attachment theory, and CBT strategies. I love equipping clients with tools and honoring what comes to surface in our sessions together. I love working with adolescents, complex trauma, early adults transitioning in life and adults who struggle with anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse and depression. I work with clients to provide a safe space to explore their current life challenges and work collaboratively with clients. I work with clients to help them find tools they can use to navigate their daily life in a positive and healthy way. I believe you’re the expert of your experience - no one knows your life better than you. Together, we can create a deepened awareness around what’s working, what’s not & what strengths you already have that need nurturing. I work with clients to consider and name how various systems at play impact the life you live and the work we do. I take the role of earning your trust very seriously, and find it an honor to be part of your journey.

Hello, I’m Alison. I help young adults who are overwhelmed, hopeless or anxious feel more in control and able to manage life's stressors and challenges. Some of the issues young adults have come to see me for include: relationship concerns, feelings of being overwhelmed, struggling to adapt to college or missing home, body image issues, life transitions, questions about gender/sexuality, and personal and family trauma. Trauma can include many things, such as relationship abuse, childhood abuse, illness, death, discrimination, and adoption issues. Using talk and somatic (body-oriented) therapy, as well as the expressive arts, I help clients connect to themselves and access resources to help them feel more at peace and in control of their lives. You will find me to be authentic, caring, and a dedicated support on your journey to healing. I bring compassion, mindfulness, and creativity to my work and consider it an honor to work with my clients. As a lifelong traveler who has lived in many places, I enjoy and value working with people from all walks of life. I look forward to meeting you.
Supervised by Cory Candelas, LMFT #106895 If you’re looking for a therapist who can hype you up and gently (or not-so-gently) call you out, we might be a good fit. Expect honesty, humor, and compassion in equal measure. Think supportive older sister energy: accountability with a lot of care. I work with teens, young adults, and high-achievers who look put together but feel overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected. We’ll build coping skills and do deeper emotional work because sometimes you’re living with a broken heart and are still expected to keep showing up.

Restore Family Therapy is a private practice dedicated to the treatment of eating disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. If food, body image or movement is causing worry and chaos in your or a family member’s life, we are here to help.
One of the greatest gifts I've received in my 19+ years of private practice, has been to witness individuals as they move towards healing, and discover a more fulfilling, whole life. The hold an eating disorder, anxiety or trauma can have on a life is profound. To watch the grip loosen, and healing emerge, is very moving. I enjoy learning, and collecting new tools and skills to help my clients. After I obtained my MSW from New York University's School of Social Work, I completed postgraduate training in eating disorders and body image issues at the Women's Therapy Centre Institute, and in Trauma Studies at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. In addition, I completed a three-year training in Somatic Experiencing, and have assisted at professional trainings, helping other therapists to learn the model. I've led eating disorder groups for New York University's Counseling Center and various non-profit organizations, and have served as both a lecturer and group case consultant on eating disorders and trauma at postgraduate institutes in New York City. Interested in creating a culturally and spiritually sensitive practice, I completed a two-year program studying the world's major faith traditions, in an effort to better understand my clients from all backgrounds. I do not take any insurance. My fees range from $150-175 based on need, and I do not presently have a sliding scale beyond that range. If you have questions, or would like to request an appointment, please feel free to contact me. I offer ONLINE ONLY therapy in CA, CO and NY.
